the smeargle tickles the meowstic like a ritual during the special attack courses. kyle's not sure why he let himself sink this low just for a reward he doesn't even know what it is exactly.

a gun gets readied. it's supposed to be for the trainer's use to aid their pokemon and feel relevant in the course, although kyle rarely uses it anyways. the moody behavior of his smeargle gets to him as well.

madame did not like being tickled. for some reason it activated her competitive spirit as the little psychic cat was planning some kind of nasty plot for revenge. oh that smeargle will rue the day it messed with the madame! "um...can we get a move on pls?" asked kaz as he just sort of ignored the whole thing and shot the starting gun to get this party started.

Seeing how Kyle and his Smeargle proceeded to tease the female Meowtic for added bonuses, it would be a shame not to use it right? As the Togekiss emerged on the field, the ex-Gym leader proceeded to order the avian to use Psych Up, replicating the bonuses of the cat. "Kyle, I'll buy you a drink for that boost you gave us. Let's go claim a seat in the leaderboard" Needless to say, Balder started shooting the targets rapidly.[BREAK][BREAK]

Now on to Razz's most hated course, the water gun course to which he was half blind still, none of his shots were going to be any good. Though this time he made sure Salem was his partner rather than Iris as she seemed pouty from last time. Salem himself was excited at the idea of working on a team that had another Meowstic that wasn't his sister about. For now he used PSYCH UP to copy her mental buff as the starting whistle rung as Razz gave him his water gun to shoot the targets as he sure as heck couldn't.

the psych up comes right after everything else as the smeargle gets ready to fight the war with no ranged moves at his disposal. kyle could've easily fixed the issue, but he cannot be bothered to let it sketch a move in their free time.

"aight, we're moving, we're moving."

he hands his smeargle a water gun for its disposal, using it as a substitute for its ranged moves. it's worked before, and had it been illegal, someone would've told him already.

kazimir was the first to start shooting at the targets in front of them and the first to notice that his meowstic wasn't exactly enthusiastic about the whole thing. Boy was it being real moody for just being tickled and still thinking of a nasty plot. "hey, focus on the games first, then you can have your revenge alright? if you don't then its no groomers for a week." the meowstic was appalled at the threat, would her trainer really deny her her weekly grooming ritual? not wanting to find off the pokemon joined in kaz taking out target after target.

The targets were slowly being taken down by the team. They had a slow start due to all of the set-up they did, but now it was time to let all hell break loose. While Kazimir reprimanded the Meowstic for wanting her revenge, adding insult to injury, the other two didn't hesitate to fire. A fun thing to notice was Kyle's Smeargle firing with a water gun, which made Balder chuckle a bit. As for the Togekiss, she assisted her trainer with multiple Aura Spheres. [BREAK][BREAK]

Salem chuckles at the other trainer's threat of not taking the female Meowstic to a grooming finding it amusing personally as he knows his own sister would be offended by such a threat. Though for now it was having fun using the Water Gun to attack the targets as they passed them by. Every now and then using a DISARMING VOICE to attack a few. Razz definitely like this time better as he didn't have to shoot the targets with his lack of depth perception.

the smeargle, having been used to this kind of arrangement for the course, has been similar with the gun. it may be simple for a person to know how it works, but the smeargle needed a couple of tries to get the logic behind it to work.

thankfully, it wasn't the pokemon's first time as it shoots his shots at the targets.

the duo were making decent progress despite the shennanigans that happened at the start of the round. "c'mon it wasn't that bad, your kinda being a little bit stubborn about it y'know." the meowstic just rolled her eyes as she used the water gun to shoot down the targets, it was kind of mockery for her to use such things. after all she could take these little targets down with nothing but a pinch of psychic powers. she somehow let her trainer talk her into playing things "fair" for this round, at least they were quick to dispatch the first set of them.

After rapid firing all those Aura Spheres, the Togekiss landed on the ground behind Balder, taking the time to cool down and recover its energy. In the meantime, the Alolan man kept shooting targets with his water pistol and avoiding incoming attacks. It seemed like everyone was doing well so far. Hopefully they'd be able to keep this up. "Careful for whats next," he warned Salem as it was his first time on the course. As fewer and fewer targets appeared but now they were being shot at. The organizers of this course seemingly having a bit of a sadistic side to them to add their own pokemon to shoot at trainers. Though it wasn't like pokemon couldn't dodge and defend themselves, or their trainers like Salem did as he used Psychic to grab at the water that would have hit his right side and sent it right back at it's sender. there's nothing much to be said besides kyle silently cheering for his smeargle to actually do something. it can't do big beam things to sweep multiple targets at once, or rapid fire ranged attacks either.

at least it has a gun now. the attacks his own pokemon does with it looked so pitiful compared to the others, but at least he's accurate with it.
