The world blessed him with what appeared to be a ranger, considering they offered his hand, Billi shook it and smiled. “THANK GOD! Someone that knows where I’m going,” he mused as he noticed the green flying pokemon, who really was a new pokemon to him. “wow you’re a loud fella,” Billi smiled brightly as he looked up at the castform who shifted were huddled together like a big fluffy nimbus cloud. “Okay Chesto go up there and fly with that green one okay! Fly in the front and stay close!” Chesto chirped and flew up above the trees to fly with the castforms.

“I’m Billi!” words filled with excitement and enthusiasm as his feet moved ahead in a random direction. “Hey so we’re supposed to escort these Castform right?!” he asked and cheered, “So like what was the weather supposed to be? Cuz like yeah,” Billi stated feeling the lone droplets landing on them like tiny liquid tickles.

Walking, and eventually following the other’s lead and having his pokemon stride behind him, the small joltik, and the ever shy vileplume that held Billi’s pants. “CASSSTTTFORM” the shrill of the castform up above as the rain hardened only alerted the group to danger as random strikes of flamethrowers were shot with electroballs being flung at them, striking one of them.

“Oh shoot! Hey! Don’t hurt the castform! They just wanna move to somewhere safe!” Billi stated as the Joltik crawled into the trees. “uugg...sooo we need to find out what the hell is happening, cuz they're just being shot,” worry showed on the furrow of his brow. Chesto quickly moved to get slapped with a flamethrower.

A Metagross was expelled from it’s pokeball, and flew up like some kind of rocket ship with extra powerful arm boosters as if it’s a mechazoid. It still didn’t bring comfort to the castform who screeched in fear as they weaved their way around flamethrowers and other attacks from both sides. They had to make sure they were following the humans to the right place! Naturally they knew to give the trainers pokemon space to protect them, but even then panic ensued.

Billi watched as the Ranger reacted immediately to the situation as his pokemon struggled to figure out what was going on, except Chesto of course who was flapping his little wings trying to keep up with the big boys, but only valuable enough to take hits and herd the castform together to avoid them dispersing amongst the clouds. While Billi on the ground, stood watching a man who had all the power to fix the problem while he stood there confused and lost. Helpless as always.

Deep down he thought to himself, that maybe if he actually trained and took time to work with his pokemon rather than treating them as just his friends and pets...They’d learn more and be much happier. “No. no! Yeah! Sorry I’ll go with you!” he stuttered for a moment as his feet tracked through the blackened mud around their feet, with Vileplume following close behind. “Colbur!” Billi called out to his Joltik that jumped from tree branch to tree branch, leaving a sticky electro web behind to make sure they wouldn’t get lost.

“Okay thank god,” the woods cleared momentarily and sounds of harrowing violence echoed through the serene rain. Flamethrowers being pelted up as what appeared to be poachers waiting for their chance to strike. “We uuhhhh,” he looked at the little Vileplume, his Rookidee up in the air defending and taking shots, while Colbur watched eagerly. “I still can’t see how many or...what pokemon ya know?” he mentioned as he nudged his vileplume forward. “See if you can put them to sleep okay?” the vileplume nodded and flapped it’s large petals, letting out the gentle white colored spores.

But, they had been spotted. Flamethrowers had begun being throw in their direction.

Just how much could Chesto do? The little bird tried and tried and was only met with exhaustion. This was long past his threshold of willpower and usual exercise. But the castform were scared and the two larger pokemon were able to just take a beating like they were berries. All the poor bird could do was herd and make sure the castform stayed on track. Nothing. Has. Changed. Yet could barely keep its eyes open. But it still flew, watching the best it could.

Billi felt useless as the ranger threw out orders and pokemon like a professional, as if this was an everyday job for him, like it was nothing more than a stroll down the city streets. Eyes zoning out as thoughts raced through his mind, echoing, the noise. Just filling his brian until he’s pulled back to his senses by the ranger protecting him from a fireball that was launched towards him like a malware. “s-sure!” Billi stated as he watched the Empoleon lay waste to two mediocre pokemon.

Move up ahead Billi, he told himself as he ran with Colbur on his shoulder, and Vileplume followed quickly behind him. Mup and puddled splashed like mini tsunami’s over his shoes, the terrain slippery and sleek, making friction hard to grasp as his sneakers sunk in like quick baseball in oil. There was five...or something. Just more noise, and more blurs. Fire off from his left side towards the ranger, but again...no trainers. Where the hell were they!

Finally...he found some of them, two getting together their supplies to fire off large nets at the castform. Surely this was it, this was what he was told to do. They noticed him as the bushes rustled and he charged out like breaking down a gate. Billi could tell that they were about to throw the nets quickly grabbing Colbur, “I’m sorry Colbur!” Billi yelled out as he pitched the bug type like a baseball at the nets. Luckily Billi had great aim and it landed in the bundled twin nets, and quickly got to work slashing everything within its “nest”.

Sliding through the mud after pitching the pokemon, the mud splashed out around him like parting the red sea and Vileplume quickly rolled in the mud with him, “VILEPLUME NOW” he called out as the poachers moved towards Colbur, and she obeyed, releasing the mist of white sleep spores that latched onto their eyes like lice and quickly went to work, putting them to sleep. “ha….ha...ha..” smearing mud across his face as he gasped for fresh air in the downpour.

“There’s still THREE POACHERS” Billi yelled out so the ranger could hear him in the distance. The psychic pokemon would most likely detect the other three, two just south of it, and one hidden towards Billi, and perhaps a pokemon that caused the weather change.

Everything was happening so fast around him. Sound of rain rumbled around him like golf balls hitting walls. It kept him internally lost and confused. Just as he thought he did an amazing job at protecting the castform, quick thinking and all that jazz. But why did he still feel unaccomplished, like he could have done more! Could be doing more! Razz was doing his best at protecting the castform and fighting back while Billi was throwing his pokemon and using sleep powder on people. Just UGH!

Chesto, high above the trees, flew with the others under the watchful eyes of the others avoiding the damage of incoming, yet fading attacks. “Rook dededededed” it replied to the Metagross in affirmation as it awkwardly flew down towards the trainer he had spotted in the clearing. The Rookie pokemon flew down towards his trainer, keeping them fixated because he was finally relaxed, finally ready for a cookie or something. But….life wouldn’t have it that way.

From above the firepunch look like it threw the poor Vileplume across the universe, slamming it into a bush with a loud cry. Billi’s voice followed quickly “Vileplum-” he was cute off by the man yelling at them as the Machamp was walking up towards him with arms crossed. Terror filled Billi’s voice as it radiated into the rain towards the little chickadee’s earholes. Eyes scanned down further, flapping its wings harder and faster. “ROOK ROOK” he screeched louder trying to tell Billi to run away. Fly faster! Be faster! Get there before it happens! Stop it from hurting Billi! But his wings hurt, his bones hurt, everything. Hurt.

He just needed to make it in time to stop Billi from getting chopped down. “Hey back u-” Billi covered his face to protect his head, as the glow stopped in front of him, smashing mud into the air as if a bomb was dropped. Squealing and Squeaking were the only noises heard as Billi cleared the mud from his lids. Visibly seeing his Rookidee, was now….larger and more like a bird of prey, slashing violently with his talons, feet throwing the hands out of the way pecking at the Machamps eyes. Feathers and groans thrown into the air in a tornado of desperate struggle. Bleu eyes watched in awe as the Corvisquire, his corvisquire violently pushed back the larger pokemon and eventually put it down with minimal damage.

“Ch-chesto?” Billi asked with watery eyes as Joltik and Vileplume returned to his side. In awe he sat there with salty watery eyes as the crow jumped over towards him, gasping in for air that had been expelled from his lungs. “CHESTO” he held the collapsed, fainted pokemon in his arms. “Chesto!!!” he called out some more worried for his pokemon, luckily it wasn’t severely hurt, just exhausted.

It had appeared the human poached had begun to run off and hide somewhere again, but Billi wasn’t concerned with that, and honestly neither were these castform who kept steadily moving towards their new home. “Hey Razz! Does the ranger base. Have like a pokemon center?” he asked with great concern, cradling his crow in his arms.

Billi worried for his little pokemon! Sure he seemed to be okay and the ranger reassured him that he’d be fine. As long as Billi returned the bird pokemon back to his pokeball everything would be okay. “Okay...I’ll put him in his pokeball,” Billi whispered quietly as he pulled out the ball returning the sweet crow to a safe orb. It wasn’t like it was the end of the world but Billi felt it deep in his soul, that he somehow caused this to his pokemon.

“Yeah i’ll wait” he spoke as he held Vileplume and Colbur close to his chest, keeping them as close as possible for fear they'd get hurt. Vileplume was fine luckily because of the rain preventing any bad burns from the fire punch. It was sad, but Billi had to keep himself together by holding his pokemon close to his body. “I’ll go with you…” he stated as he stood up holding his pokemon like sacs of flour. “I guess I need to get used to it ya know,” he paused again looking at the ground with a distant stare. “We can walk there or something.”

Billi panted, breathing deeply into his pokemon, worried about them, worried about everything. Naturally any normal person in a high stress situation would cling to the things he loves and to Billi that was his pokemon. The small creatures that would protect him and keep him company when he lived on his own. “no...I’m okay,” he responded slowly, calmly and breathing hitched. He didn’t know what to do, how to react. Honestly he kinda just felt his soul leave him some.

“No..no i’m okay really...I just need a minute” he paused breathing inward more. His lungs full of wet air as he tried to find himself a peaceful state of mind trying to clear his anxiety for his pokemon. “I..need to at least get the castform where they need to go!” he said standing up holding his pokemon in his large arms. The mud covering them as the rain made the mud like sludge sliding down his face. “You’re right...he’ll be fine, Vileplume is fine, Colbur is fine, and he’ll be fine” he repeated briefly as he rubbed the mud off his face some.

He took a deep breath, “Well...let’s get them to the ranger..station so I can at least heal up and get the mud off me,” he gave a weak smile making his vileplume laugh.
