With his Sharpedo now knowing dive much more of the sea was available to him, and with Razz living on the island near by he wanted to check on a few rumored areas around considering the problems they had during the summer. The young ranger thought he might spend some free time checking it out for himself to ease his paranoid mind a bit, and who knows maybe catch a few pokemon for the upcoming dangers to come. After the meeting with the Rangers he was left on edge about what he's heard. [break][break]
Once he reached the cave he hopped off the Shark pokemon to remove the face mask that gave him air. "You good?" Razz asked Duke who seemed to play it off like it wasn't a big deal taking him there before turning as it sensed someone else coming. Razz tilted his head to take a look noticing a figure coming from the water.
Haru had always loved the sea. He’d played in it growing up, swam in it as a teenager. Now, he wanted to explore it. This time around, he’d enlisted the help of his beloved Siren, who helped to propel him gently down to the seafloor with a scuba mask and diving suit helping to protect his body from the sea. He’d left Sui and Yuki behind, deciding that Siren was strong enough to deal with any threats. So far, she’d shown to be more than enough to discourage any more aggressive water types from coming to attack. Milotic were perfect for resolving conflicts, after all.
He’d heard rumours of a cavern of sorts somewhere in this area, and as he looked around his eyes caught on what appeared to be an entrance to a cave. Motioning with his hand at the seeming entrance to his partner, the pair swam closer to the opening. The closer they got, the more Haru’s suspicions were confirmed, until finally they were swimming through to pop out on the other side into an open cave. A gentle smile on his face, the boy removed his mask now that he could breathe, and went to get out of the water. Behind him, Siren went back into her ball of her own accord. Being on the ground wouldn’t be good for her, and she’d move very slowly, so there was no point in coming out until her trainer needed her.
As soon as Haru was standing on the dry floor, however, his eyes caught on another trainer right nearby. Tilting his head, the boy brushed a bit of hair aside to get a better look at his unexpected companion. Who would have thought he’d find someone else down here?
Razz pondered about what to say when he saw they other, overthinking things always often being a problem before he noticed something behind the other which caused the Ranger to shift his thoughts. With a whistle and point toward the other's general direction his Sharpedo used LIQIDATION just right passed the stranger as a Claydol was behind them and looking as if it were charging up an attack. Though he probably should've warned the guy rather than have his pokemon attack in their general direction now that he thought about it. "Sorry about that," he apologized as he grabbed a pokeball from his belt to capture the psychic doll. [break][break]
"Razz Kingsman," he introduced himself feeling he should after near attacking the other as he walked passed to pick up the pokeball which hopefully caught the Claydol, "Do you come here often?" the ranger asked curious to see if they may be useful to ask information about.
Even someone as stoic as Haru had to at least widen their eyes at a Sharpedo attacking in their direction. The young man couldn’t help the minuscule movement of his eyes, though he quickly fixed his expression when the attack hit something behind him instead of him. Turning to see what had happened, he saw the Claydol and immediately understood. Ah, so the attack was never aimed at him at all, was it? Sighing, the boy affixed his mask to a clip on the side of his suit, and smiled at the stranger. “Haruka Shimizu, and thank you.” He replied initially, glad that he’d not been hit by such an attack. Maybe it was better to have Siren our after all...
With only a moment’s pause, he released Siren from her ball and turned to answer the stranger- no, Razz’s next question. “This is my first time coming down here.” He said, carefully studying his unexpected companion even as Siren let out a gentle trill and coiled next to her trainer. The Milotic seemed very disinterested in the Claydol, and both trainer and Pokémon moved slightly to the side to let Razz catch it. They were creatures of the water, neither cared for such a Pokémon.
"Not a problem, I know first hand that pokemon while helpful can be a problem too," he comments with a nod as he picks up the captured Claydoll, the ranger seeming somewhat disappointed to hear that this was the other's first time. All it meant was they he wouldn't be able to aid him. Unless... he paused in thought as he tried to think of how to word what he wanted properly to not sound like a mess. Thoughts interrupted by a panicked cry which caused Razz to look over watching as Duke had seemed to scare something with a simple growl. Too bad there was no way to not make the shark look unintimidating. "Duke stand down," he orders before walking over to see what it was Duke scared. Ah this was that water seel thing.... shit what was it called Poppi? "Hey sorry about that he's not that scary I swear," he tries to reasure the water pokemon but it doesn't seem to believe him. [break][break]
Okay plan B, was his thought as he called out Lapis from his pokeball who took in his surroundings, "Hey could you convince them that Duke over there isn't scary? And we could use their help really," he ask Sobble who looked to Duke then Razz with an 'Are you kidding me look?' Which okay fair, but thankfully Sobble was getting a bit braver as the last time he had the two meet Sobble ran back into his pokeball. The lizard then went into the whole with the Popplio as if to explain things. Okay he'll leave that to Lapis for the moment. [break][break]
Okay right another person, okay lets try this again, as again he ponders on how to say things without it being awkward. Though with him and new people that seemed to be the most common result. "Sooo.... what brings you to these caves then?" he asked awkwardly. His famous people skills clearly showing.[break][break]
That was when Lapis came out began talking, on how the super scary monster the popplio saw and that she wouldn't help unless it was gone. All of it mostly being spoken out via charades, Lapis was getting very good with mimicking faces. But besides that firstly rude, but if he wanted it's help he looked toward Duke and grabbed the pokeball Lapis took to indicate how the other water pokemon wanted them gone, "Sorry buddy it'll just be for a bit," he tells Duke who gives a 'hmph' noise before they're back in the pokeball. "How about now?" he asked the Popplio to see if she would come out of hiding to join them.
The young man couldn’t help but be fascinated by Razz’s own methods of capture as another Pokémon was spotted nearby, this time a popplio. Smiling, Haruka was reminded of his own Brionne as he waited patiently, the whole situation honestly rather amusing to him. Then, finally, the other man addressed him again and he had something he could answer even as he watched the Sobble and Popplio interact. “I’m a water type trainer, so naturally underwater caves are of interest to me. I had Siren bring me down here when someone told us about this place, to explore and see what we can find. Maybe we’ll find a new friend.” He said, voice pleasant. He wanted to chuckle, but didn’t, instead brushing a hand down his partner’s scales.
“And you?” He asked, eyes catching on a nearby Solrick which seemed to be hanging around. It did not attack, though, and he had no interest in the Pokémon, so his eyes did not linger. Instead he turned his gaze onto Siren, the beautiful serpentine Pokémon having been watching the interactions of Razz’s Sobble and the wild Popplio intently.
Seemingly pleased that the monstrous shark was gone the water pup came out of her hiding spot, for him Lapis asked them the questions Razz would've had as he listened to the other speak. The ranger looking the other up and down with crossed arms as he considered whether or not he could trust said claim. Though he has been dealing with his target for awhile and most were much more rough and gruff than the other. For now he would save his suspicions. As he was quiet for a bit as he was thinking this over and it took Lapis tapping his leg to get him back on track and realize the question, "Pirates have been attacking during the summer, rumor has it some are still around so I wanted to make sure care to help search?" he ask part of him looking for a reaction to see if they might know anything. [break][break]
Again the Sobble pulled at his leg to get his attention apparently the first time wasn't just to get him out of his suspicions, the ranger decides to follow long watching a worried Popplio near an injured Milotic. Always a fun site, Razz went over to inspect it just for it to try and use it's tail for SPLASH to get him away. [break][break]
It had no effect. [break][break]
Maybe it was trying for a different attack but was too weak? The ranger decides to get a pokeball from his belt and once again it fights, "Hey I get it, thats fine but I can get you healed then release you right after if you want" he reassures as he taps the ball on their head. Part of him wondered what exsactly did this to them.
“Pirates? That sounds dangerous. I’m willing to help since I’m already here, but I’ll be limited to only my Milotic and any Pokémon I may catch or befriend in the cave.” He responded, looking to his partner Pokémon for a brief moment before his eyes caught on a small, round, mouselike blue Pokémon. While Razz seemingly got distracted by another Milotic, which had Siren worriedly moving over to the man and her injured brethren, he himself went to look at the little mouse Pokémon thing. It was cute enough, so with a shrug Haru bent down to speak to the little thing, which was staring up at him with curious eyes.
“Hey there little one, would you like to come home with me?” He asked, keeping his voice quiet and soothing so as not to startle the Marill. Reaching with one hand he brought out a Pokeball, showing it to the marill so it could see exactly what it would be getting into. Luckily for him it didn’t attack right away, maybe it would want to join him?
"They were admittedly dangerous which was why I wanted to check and hope the rumors were false, however if they end up being true do you think you can handle yourself with just the Milotic?" Razz asked after the injured Milotic ended up in the pokeball. For now he'd wait for them to finish up with the Marill as the Ranger pondered if it was safe to bring a civilian in on a hunch. Though if he was wrong then all of this should be fine, and he very much wanted to be wrong. [break][break]
"Just lead the way when ready," he tells the Popplio and as she moves on just for a Mantyke to get in the way. It seems angry as it attempts to attack with WATER PULSE, with a whistle Lapis counters with WATER PULSE of it's own, though thankfully Lapis was stonger and able to slam them into the wall. the Popplio decides to help as well be using DISARMING VOICE to ensure it wouldn't have the strength to fight back again. Razz took his own mesures into account by tossing a pokeball at them.
