The more and more Remiel had come to study and search for the rare dragon leaves mushroom, which he had since dubbed as the Amanita Dracisfera in his research paper, the more he began to realize that it only grew atop the highest ledges and balconies of Meteor Falls. Having found a deep gorge within the unfathomably deep cavern, the dark-haired prince had returned from his home in Rustboro to navigate the terrain with Blanche, his Aurorus.[break][break]

Her height proved incredibly useful in searching for the mushrooms, her head swerving from left to right as her nostrils tried to pick up their scent. Remiel, in the meantime, rode upon her back, waiting for her signal.[break]

A reserved and hermit-like Oranguru that called one of the highest ledges in the cave home was bothered to suddenly find a large dinosaur head peeking into his abode. With little hesitation, the ape shooed the beautiful beast away with a whack of his banana leaf fan. No visitors today![break][break]

Blanche, of course, was a little perturbed by the rude behavior. No manners whatsoever! She huffed and turned away, and didn't even respond when her master asked what had happened. He didn't need to know, anyway.[break]

A napping Walrein and her litter of Spheals were all cozied up in their secret cove, high above the rest of the little dens in Meteor Falls. Blanche wasn't sure how the large mother seal and her cubs had climbed all the way up there. Perhaps there was a secret passageway just around the corner? But, just as she pulled her head away from its balcony, one of the cubs awoke to blink its eyes at her.[break][break]

Alarmed but also excited to see a visitor, the little baby quickly hopped out of his mother's embrace and waddled over to say hi with its flipper. Blanche cooed and reached back in to nuzzle the little baby with the side of her face. When the baby began to excitedly clap, however, the dinosaur pulled out again and quickly hurried on. Best not to alarm a sleeping mother![break]

They found them... more amanita dracisfera. The dragon leaves.[break][break]

After being hoisted up by Blanche, Remiel climbed the ledge and carefully stepped forward to go collect a sample. That's when, suddenly, a mutated abomination lumbered out from the shadows. There was instant worry. Remiel couldn't tell whether it was being aggressive and territorial, but Blanche couldn't attack it without likely hurting him as well. His only hope was to turn around and try to hop back onto his dinosaur's back as quickly as possible, but...[break][break]

Instead, Remiel slowly reached out with both hands. The Dracozolt tilted its head curiously... then it stepped forward to sniff. Blanche tried to move her head inside and around her master to see. But, even then, both the Dracozolt and Remiel remained calm. Until, eventually, the goofy science experiment brightened and nuzzled the prince's palm with the top of its head. Remiel breathed a sigh of relief and patted it.[break][break]

He was uncomfortable showing even the slightest degree of affection to something he considered abhorrent and disrespectful to actual dragons. But, he supposed, it was two halves of two separate families.[break]
