THEME

Zac took a step back as the rock wall collapsed, sending chunks of stone tumbling towards them.

"Whoa! Everyone okay?" He asked, looking around. They had cleared a sizable gap in the wall, and Zac forged straight ahead. He picked up his Morelull, holding it like a torch as its moonight ILLUMINATED the passage.

As his group made their way into the tunnel, they heard the sounds of pokemon, moving about in the darkness.

Suddenly, from behind them there was a massive noise. The crash echoed up the tunnel, silencing the cave pokemon.

Zac spun around. "What the hell was that?"

Morelull used Illuminate to light the way

"Holy shit, man, watch where you're swinging that thing!"[break][break]

River ducks and weaves, narrowly avoiding being pegged and skewered by some guys pickaxe. Along the way he does some casual looting, lifting precious stones off people's pouches and doing his best to blend into the crowd of miners.[break][break]

Except.. he does a piss poor job of that, and gets himself into trouble. Someone catches him plucking what might have been a precious stone or fossil out of the back of some guys pocket, and he snatches the guys hat and pickaxe just as someone from behind shouts for him to stop.[break][break]

"See ya later, suckaaaas!"[break][break]

They give chase but ultimately lose him (or lose interest in him) as he disappears into the dark. His helmet seemed to be damaged or malfunctioning, so he goes in blind. Only when he hears people talking up ahead does he slow down, barely. [break][break]

"Woah, what the-- why's everyone at a dead stop? Doesn't this go right through to the other side?"[break][break]

Oh shit.. did he get himself cornered?[break][break]

And now given how dark it is, the boy reaches into his bag to retrieve a poke ball. He holds a less-than-amused Lanturn in his arms, and it illuminates the path ahead.[break][break]

Their last batch of treasures before the wall collapsed in its entirety were... somewhat dissapointing, but anything was better than nothing. They would simply need to do better next time.

If there was a next time, considering the all consuming shadows that followed the wall's collapse.

He had seen darkness before, but this...

"This is advanced darkness." He said dryly while readjusting his straw hat, and the flashlighted' hardhat atop it.

It's light almost seemed to be swallowed up by the darkness. Spooky.

"Any bright ideas?" He said, pun entirely intended.

Naturally, leave it to Zac to be prepared. His fungi-like pokemon made a attempt at lighting up the path, but while it was much better than their flashlights, it was still not quite a strong enough light to make one feel comfortable in the caverns.

So as luck would have it, another man came in running, Lanturn in tow.

"Luck's on point tonigh'." He said with a chuckle as he returned both Kama and Kameba to their pokeballs, fetching yet another pokeball from under his jacket with a grin. "Need just a little more, right?"

Doug threw the pokeball, releasing a large Centiskorch unto the caves, its natural flame mustache further lighting up the area.

"Manda- help out a bit'ere. Fire lash." Doug said. In response, the Centiskorch didn't quite whip any of the present, but his body did seem ignite, its many disks and body lighting up and warming the area.

Doug then lifted both straw and hard hat, revealing a little Grubbin snuggled up in his hair.

"'n Case anyone needs their flashlight recharged." He said as he reached up to grab the little bugger, bringing its jaws near his own hard hat flashlight. Grubbin seemed to have practice with this, as he utilized spark on contact, releasing a weak charge into the batteries.

-Manda the Centiskorch used Fire Lash!
-Kyodai the Grubbin used Spark!

Dante paused as everyone went lower into the cavern, staring at them. He was feeling more stupid then anything. Mainly because even more, he was ignored by the man he was being hit on. Light turned off, and everyone was illuminated by the two pokemon to keep the way. People were ready to dive deeper but the dumby used his Raltz first, charged with the ions in the air, to move forward, "zzzzz" it crackled in the air. "Well let's hope this works out,"

Thus, they timidly scurry away or continue to watch from afar with ominous curiosity. Suddenly, the earth groans. The ground underneath you shakes. Stalactites fall from the ceiling and as your party attempts to find cover, rubbles smothers the path from whence you came and obscures the routes ahead.[break][break][break]

THEME

"This is advanced darkness." Doug said, as their group moved forward into the gloom.
"Well I wish it would bloody retreat for a bit, I can't a damn thing!" Zac said, as a second, wetter light bloomed in the darkness behind him. "Nice one, thanks...kid?" Zac looked at the newcomer, a young boy holding a glowing fish. With the combined light, and with Dante and Doug clearing the path with lightning and lashings of fire, the wild pokemon scattered, and they found the entrance to the next level in no time.

"You know," Zac said, making conversation as Doug's Grubbin charged
his electronics, "statistically, you're more likely to be killed in a cave by Dunsparce than by any other pokemon."
"It's little fangs are hollow. Not for injecting vemon, like most snakes, but for sucking blood out. Like two pointy straws," he continued, mimicing the action of a fanged bite using his forefingers. "One nip from that little devil can suck you dry in a matter of minutes."
Grubbin finished charging and Zac clicked his torch back on. "Thanks little buddy! Right handy he is to have around," he said to Doug.

On the second level of the cave, they were greeted with hard packed blockages of stone that impeded their progress. "Okay, well, tale as old as time. I'll cause a bit of a controlled collapse, and you three clear it all away."

Zac's Vibrava hit the rocky mounds with a SAND TOMB.
They shook and crumbled into a slew of rubble.

Vibrava used Sand Tomb (Ground 35BP)

Geez...How did Marco find himself in these kinds of situations! Normally he wouldn’t be diving down in caves, looking for stuff, but he had heard of old relics being deep below the surface. Relics old as time! The excitement was in his chest, but he couldn’t really go down and just take a power drill and make his way down. Naw...that would damage too much stuff. Marco needed everything down below, to be in good mint condition! Otherwise the value of his research would plummet.

Upon sending his sandslash to dig lower, he followed on by reins and a fancy snowboard with wheels. Which let’s be real is a longboard but Marco viewed himself as a visionary. Eventually he popped down into a tunnel, where he dug into the wall, and landed in front of other people, “aaww….sheet.” he scowled to himself as he pulled the goggles off his face, “And here I thought I was the genius who figured out there was rare shit down here,”

"Really? Dunsparce?" He said, disbelieving. That was a pokemon with a reputation- and deadly wasn't it.

Showed what he knew about non bugs.

"Yeah, he's the best, ain't he?" He then said as he placed the Grubbin back into his hair, rubbing its head.

They made good progress, specially after another young man came barreling into their group with shiny fish in hand-

But as was expected by now, they eventually hit a deadend.

And once again, they all synchronized with surprising ease.

"On it." He said, his rubbing digits wrapping around the Grubbin before swinging it at the remaining rocks.

"Get to it, bud! Dig away!" He said, and even before he so much as touched the rocks, the little bug was already spinning in the air, his large mandibles drilling into the rocks as he smashed into them, splitting them again and again as he leapt from boulder to boulder.

"Hey, hey, hey, woah. I'm not a kid, old man."[break][break]

He shifts the Lanturn under one armpit, making the Pokemon wheeze in protest. Her pretty glowing bauble dims away as her illuminate - coupled with everyone else's bright ideas - encourages them to delve further into their cave. It seems as though whatever they've been doing before he showed up has reaped pretty good rewards. [break][break]

River purses his lips, side-eyeing the bits and baubles that glint from some of his new companions pockets. They looked as if they might fetch a pretty penny.[break][break]

Though it's Zac Ramsay's Pokeball in particular that he fancies most, it seems. While the rest of the crew are hooting and hollering, his pea-brain attention span has zeroed in on the man's belt. Just as everyone else manages to tackle their next obstacle, River is pilfering a man's Pokemon in the hopes he might get away with it.[break][break]

He doesn't.[break][break]

The Pokeball bursts open in the dark and River pulls back his hand, though he's already been hit by the mud-slap. Regardless, it manages to loosen that last stone in the wall they needed, and River promptly pretends that he hadn't just laid hands on another mans balls.[break][break]

"... y-yeah! Dig away!"[break][break]

He throws his fist into the air, returning his Lanturn to her Pokeball and charging forward after the digging Pokemon.[break][break]

THEME

"Old man!" Zac exclaimed. "Fair is fair though. I did call you a kid didn't I. Sorry mate, I'm Zac." he says, offering River a hand to shake. "And i'm happy to lend you a pokemon if you need one," he says, looking the newcomer straight in the eyes. "Just make sure you ask first, yeah?"
Zac looked around. The crew seemed a tad different from before. What was it with people busting in dramatically? Why was someone riding a wheeled snowboard? Either way, they were making good progress.
"This next part looks overgrown. Lots of vines and plants woven through the rock," Zac said to the group. "If we can break through just the rock and dirt, then the greenery will likely hold and we won't have to deal with a cave in."

Zac sent out Maractus, which rooted into the ground for better grip. "Okay Maractus, rip into those rocks!"
The little cactus blasted the blockage with a LEAF STORM, tearing chunks off the wall with its shuddering barrage of empowered leaves.

Maractus used LEAF STORM (Grass 130BP)

Marco turned to the others that didn't seem to acknowledge him much, but that was okay. Marco liked it better that way anyways. No others to really to there and annoy him more. It wasn't like there was much to argue about, even so....he had to think about it more. There wasn't much he could do besides agree. Pulling out the tropius he was lent he nodded, "well....will magical leaves cute vine and rock," the large pokemon let loose a vivid display of autumn leaves. "apparently so,"

The man who's balls he had just handled offers his hand out in a handshake. Awkwardly, the young man takes it, though he shies away from direct eye-contact and instead settles on nodding and agreeing.[break][break]

More instructions are given, and this time, River actually has something capable of helping. He pulls out a daft-looking Lombre, who bends his head under the crest of his lilypad hat, and promptly fires off an energy ball to clear away said vines.[break][break]

Doug had more or less spaced out there for a moment, his mind on bugs or perhaps one of his crushes- but eventually the sound of attacks going off near him were enough to get him out of his reverie, the youth blinking owlishly before reaching into his jacket.

"What was I doin'...? Oh, right. Mah turn!" He said as he chucked it, releasing his lovely Leavanny into the field.

Usually the caretaker for his garden, she had taken a break from duty to adventure with the youth. And she would prove useful today.

"'Kay love, ya kno'ow it goes! Get all that out of tha way! Leaf Blade!" Said Doug as he swung an arm towards the vine covered the wall, prompting a nod and a smile from the Leavanny as she leapt into action, her arm blades flashing green before she tore a large gash across the wall, finishing it off.

Using LEAF BLADE (90 BP).
