Zac put out an arm to stop the grassy barrage. "Whoa! Whoa! Okay nice work guys, looks like we've almost sliced those vines straight through. Just a final little hit outta break through," he said, as he sent out his Heracross.
"Nothin' big, nothin' fancy. Just some little precision bites. I'm thinking sending in the Bugs is the way to go, right Doug?"
Zac pointed out the weak points as his Heracross picked them off one-by-one with his Pin Missile. The ceiling creaked, and some chunks of rock fell away, revealing the passage beyond. "Oh we're almost through," Zac said with excitement. He pointed out the weak points to the rest of the group. "Remember, weak attacks and we'll be through in no time!"

A Leavanny? What a strange, creepy lookin' creature. [break][break]

River wrinkles his nose at it, and at the fact that the boy commanding it seems to have his head in the clouds. He looks like a fool in love, lost in his thoughts and daydreaming in the middle of a dangerous mining tunnel. What a moron.[break][break]

But before he could open his mouth to say so, River reaches for a Pokemon capable of attacking with 'precision bites' as the big, burly man so delicately put it. Of course, he has nothing of the type, and he sighs heavily before asking first and borrowing one of the man's many Pokemon.[break][break]

Out pops a Dewpider that follows the direction of the rest of its buggy friends, tearing apart the wall with its infestation.[break][break]

"Right ya are, bud!" He said as he reached into his jacket to produce yet another netball, throwing it in the air. "Go, Sphectra!"

A buzzing filled the silence of the caves as a Beedrill took scene, Doug's smile wide. This one... this one was special.

Doug had taken a short trip back to Kanto for this one. Very short- it was dangerous to stick around for long. He had merely gone on a... personal errand.

He hadn't expected to see one of his old friends waiting for him there. His body quaked giddily with excitement as he pumped a fist in the air.

"Need some'o'yer'ol' fine work, m'dude!" He said, before swipping his hand. "Nice and careful! Use Twineedle!"

The Bee nodded his head- before snapping out of sight with a booming buzz. Two cracks thundered down the caverns as two holes were suddenly drilled across the surface of the wall, picture perfect as if bullets had punched through the surface.

Doug sucked in air sharply, smile wide.

"_{Perfect as always.}" He managed to say, to which his Bee nodded, before zipping back up to him. "Right, right. Get some rest, bud. Good job!"

Returning him to the net ball, Doug turned his attention to Marco, who hadn't sent out a pokemon yet.

"Need a loan, m'dude?" He said, tilting his head with a smile as he held up another netball. "Got a lil' guy here who's just right for the job!"

Marco didn't have much care for the people around him. Then again....he didn't have a bug type pokemon that could get in those tiny little cracks. After all it wasn't Marco's option to have. With the man beside him lending him the Snom, he sighed, "Fuck I hate having help from people," he stated bluntly sticking the snom to the rocks, where it make a squeek and began to infest the area, hoping to break down the rocks.

AN ODD, INTACT ARTIFACT reveals itself. Upon further inspection, it seems as if the shards you have excavated are of the same material. This rectangular slab is pulled from the rubble of the cave-in. After being dusted off, one can feel engravings on its back. It reads:[break][break][break]

"...and space set free..."

AS THE CAVE-IN IS CLEARED, the whole chamber quakes. Although the rubble is cleared enough for safe passage, the cave's walls' integrity has been compromised. A violent fissure travels from the wall to the ground you all stand on. Suddenly, the sound of a large crack alerts everyone to their apparent dilemma. The floor begins to fall out from underneath them.[break][break][break]

As everyone falls, they see a vast cavern system filled with magma. If the falling rock wasn't dangerous enough, the magma below belches and surges with incredible heat. Find a way to safely land or be smothered by rock and magma.[break][break][break]

THEME

Their combined bug moves smashed through the blockage, with far more power than Zac had envisioned. "A bit over-enthusiastic maybe," he said, "but that's never hurt any-" he was cut off as the ground collapsed out from under them.
Crawling red light and sulphurous heat belched up from below as Zac scrambled for, and lost, his footing. He tumbled back into the hole, and as he fell towards the molten floor he saw Heracross fly to safety. No way he can lift us though, Zac thought briefly, as he dug through his bag in search of something that could save them. Aha!
He sent out Galarian Weezing and grabbed onto the top hat of the LEVITATING Pokemon. "I've got you!" he yelled, as the rest of the group fell from above. "Just aim for me!"
He held out broad arms, ready to catch his falling comrades. There was plenty of room for them all on top of the floating fairy-type Pokemon.

"... and space set free..." Said Doug under his breath after dusting off the strange tablet, flipping it around to see if he found anything else, brow raised.

He liked the colour, for whatever reason- but still, what the heck?

He didn't really have time to think about it. Seconds after the wall came tumbling down and they had pocketed their prizes, the very earth underneath their feet came apart with a booming crack, the fissures spreading all over the cave in a manner that sent a flash of horror through the youth's chest.

Had they screwed up? Was the cave going to collapse upon them? They were too deep to run now. His hand went quickly for a net ball, his only choice to trust that Kameba's power to wreck rock to get them out of this-

And then the earth really came apart.

"What even?!" He said, shouting as the cave system underneath them was revealed to their eyes. Magma came into sight, much to the youth's horror-

"Daran!" He said as he caught sight of his Snom, quickly switching from Kameba's Net ball to Kama's, swinging wide. "Catch him! Use Acrobatics!"

Kama appeared in a flash of red light, her eyes peering around in confusion before catching eye of the Snom, her wings spreading wide and flapping, sending her swooping down to catch the tiny bug, one foot touching upon one of the boulders sinking into magma before pushing off, a blast of wind that hit the magma hurtling her towards the walls, the mantis nimbly running up the walls with her charge upon her back before leaping up towards the group.

For his part, Doug sighed in relief from atop the wheezing, catching the Snom as Kama swooped atop them before returning her to her Net ball.

"Thank the many lords." He said, sighing in relief as he hugged the little bugger to his chest, ignoring the freezing before looking up at Zac. "Quick thinking, by the way. Thanks for the save!"

"Maybe a bit too enthusiastic!"[break][break]

River is screaming the entire time he falls, and it's only due to the borrowed Dewpider's quick-thinking that they're even saved. Several gigantic aqua rings appear beneath them to cushion their fall and protect them from the splashes of hot magma coming up to meet them. When River's feet finally hit solid ground, he makes a point to lift both feet often, concerned they may melt his soles.[break][break]

It seems that the rest of the people and Pokemon more than likely found aide with the levitating Weezing, or other modes of transportation. [break][break]

"So... now what? How the hell're we suppose to get out of this shithole?"[break][break]

Marco appeared shocked as the floor below them shattered like hopes and dreams into a molten floor od disappointment and misery. Honestly it was just the mans luck that he would suffer like this! Taking a deep breath the man sighed as they fell towards the ground, "Why me man...every damn time," everyone else went and saved each other and the like. He was one of them, but let's just say Marco had the idea to get rid of the lava, or HELL make it worse. So yes.. using MAGNITUDE wasn't a great idea in a cave but it sure as hell made the lava sink lower under the cavern to make digging even more easier for now.

EVERYONE LANDS SAFELY. The dramatic sweeping of stone, wind, and water are accompanied by the mighty presence of a Groudon. Magma bubbles all around them, churning hellishly like a crimson ichor. Something or several things roar deeper in the cave. Ancient footprints can be seen carved into the walls should you examine carefully; however, the party quickly finds out that they must be careful, for any misplaced zagreus-step could result in an impromptu trip through Styx.[break][break][break]

THEME

Magma rippled and boiled underneath in a slow-moving sea of tectonic heat.
    "Quick thinking, by the way. Thanks for the save!" said Doug.
    "No problem mate, now how about her make a little room for a safe landing."
    River and Marco had formed a mass of water and stone during their descent, but the magma was slowly encroaching.
Zac send out his Dusclops, who landed lightly on the makeshift island. "ICE PUNCH buddy! Lets cool this place down a little."
The ghost's fist began to drip with frost, and it drove the icy appendage down and into the wet chunks. Steam issued from the sides of the pile, dancing across the the magma as he struggled to freeze the pool of thousand-degree volcanic rock.
"I could use some help guys!" Zac called to the rest of the crew. "Doug, you got any ice pokemon on you?"

Dusclops used ICE PUNCH (75BP)

Doug looked between Zac and Snom meaningfully, raising a brow at the man.

He got a pokeball anyway, his lip curling into some distaste as he instantly realized this was neither a net ball nor a bug.

"Uh. Thanks." He said dryly.

Well, he wasn't going to force Lepirax or Daran to perform in this heat, so he might as well.

"Go, Whoever you are." He said as he threw the pokeball, his entire body rejecting the notion of utilizing a non bug with an almost self-destructive quake as a bizarre, not quite fish, not quite bird pokemon took the scene.

"... Avalanche?" He ordered, unsure of what it could do.

Avalanche. The Arctozolt bodily threw itself at the walls of magma, a torrent of ice and snow left in its wake as it crashed upon them soundly.

Finally something Marco could achieve in this cavern. His hands moved to release his alolan sandlash from it's pokeball. Marco's eyes glancing downward then back up, moving his hands quickly and pointing his fingers. "Well. nothing easier then Icicle Spear" he ordered the pokemon who launched several spears into the magmatic walls. The smoke steaming but the icicle being launched out as if it was part of shounen anime.

River tugs at the collar of his shirt, sweat already beading on his brow. His discomfort is plain, and he doesn't object to the big guy's command to call for some ice. The Dusclops, followed by the Arctozolt and Alolan Sandlash come up with good temporary solutions, and River's own Pokemon manages to add his own aid to the pile.[break][break]

The Cloyster that appears tucks itself inside its shell for a moment, making River pale in comparison in fear that his Pokemon just wouldn't obey at all. Fortunately, the Cloyster sprays a wide arc of icicle spears, forcing River to side-step hurriedly. He sucks in a breath at the close call, wiping now-cold sweat from his brow.[break][break]

"Well, alright then."[break][break]
