Enma heard a stranger’s voice shouting something about Yami had found something just as the one-eyed Luxray Roared, a Teddiursa tumbling out of the grass and waddling away, having Slashed at him before wisely realizing just how large the Pokémon it had irritated was. Enma winced at the volume of the roar. Yami still got too excited when it came to battle, and it seemed the wild Pokémon shared the sentiment; for not a moment later a Kecleon fell out of a nearby tree.

Enma raised a hand in greeting to the stranger, slowly walking up to his Luxray to make sure he wasn’t hurt. One quick inspection revealed a thin set of scratches on Yami’s muzzle, but those were easily treatable with the basic antiseptic spray he carried in his bag. Pulling said spray out, Enma prepared for some very undignified noises from Yami as he carefully sprayed and cleaned the thin cuts. He was right to prepare for those noises, because the spray had Yami howling and pawing at his nose with a fierce glare directed at his trainer.

“I know it stings Yami, but you’re not that much of a wimp and you know it.” Enma said to his Pokémon, finally standing up and turning around to look at the stranger only after Yami released one final growl. The stranger then went on to introduce himself as Zac, and Enma finally got a look at the man. He was tall, so tall that a sharp stab of jealously hit him as he extended a hand of his own. However, the tall man didn’t seem rude or malicious, so Enma forced the feeling down. “Enma. Likewise.” He said, keeping his words short and to-the-point. No need to bother with pointless frivolities with someone Ye didn’t really know.

Unfortunately, their greetings were interrupted by the arrival of a magnificent Pidgeot, her screeching cry echoing among the trees. Enma had always wanted a flying type to call his own, and took a look at Yami beside him. Ignoring the powerful wind the bird Pokémon’s wings were kicking up, Enma pointed at the Pidgeot while Yami watched. “Try and ground her with discharge! Let’s catch a new friend, eh?” He said, the large electric type obliging his trainer with a burst of electricity. The bolts seemed to strike dead on, forcing the bird to fly lower and land before her wings gave out. Taking the chance, Enma threw a pokeball, hoping to catch her in one simple move so he could heal her up with the basic medical supplies he always carried in the wild.

The Pokeball shook for what seemed like an eternity before finally clicking to signal a successful capture, grinning, Enma made to pick up the ball only to find himself looking straight at a little Ralts hanging out nearby. Hmmm... a fairy type would be useful too, wouldn’t it? Unlike the Pidgeot though, he wouldn’t battle it. It felt wrong to fight something so much smaller than Yami with such a big Pokémon. Instead, he crouched, pocketing the Pokeball with one hand and extending the other to the dual typed fairy.

“Hey there little buddy, want to come home with us?” He asked, an uncharacteristic gentleness lacing his tone. He usually only reserved the gentleness for young Pokémon, but this little one seemed pretty lost and confused. It wouldn’t do to scare the Pokémon away before he could take it home, so he was slow and careful in his movements as he held out the ball to the small Pokémon. Luckily, it didn’t take long for the creature to decide, as he soon had a second Pokeball right next to the first in his pocket.
