The idea of island life was cool but Mossadeep found a way to make it boring. Instead of warm, sandy beaches this place was mostly full of old people and nerds. Chu-e guessed he fit in with that crowd now, being on the 'looks like death could take you any moment' minority. The main thing was that before his hospital stints, he had been a man of action. Exciting shit always seemed to happen to him. That just made bingo at the community center pale in comparison. (Even if that whore Martha was totally cheating; he would expose her sooner or later.)

And yet, and yet, as Chu-e mentally groused he was doing very little to make any great changes. Today he had came down to the rocky beach just to sit for a while, hoping to absorb some of the sun and maybe heat up his bones. Only real thing he was looking forward to was this food being done. Since he was so close to home, a beach side picnic with the proper fixings had seemed like a good idea. A stew pot filled to the brim with meat, potatoes, carrots, plus a few other things was bubbling merrily and filling the area with a delectable scent. Pretty soon it would be ready to eat.

A few of his younger pokemon were out and about, his Marill and Psyduck playing in the surf while his Slowking was laying on his back next to him. Chu-e himself was seated on a stump he had found, worn down thanks to time and many other butts finding respite on it's surface. All in all it was a nice and calm down. For now.

It was been several weeks since the ‘girl-shark’ Anko had been ‘found’ in that underwater cave, by divers. Which was followed by a confused rush of people trying to figure out why had happened and then what to do next with her. All while – Anko had looked on curiously and confusedly.

At least (after a violent and almost dangerous scene), Anko had been allowed to keep the two Pokemon that she had been found with and that she called her parents, oddly enough.[break][break] Now, she was traveling to a town called Rustboro but continually was getting distracted by the many new sights that she was to behold. Outside of a cave setting- rather. She had been given a guard and a companion to escort her to Rustboro but, they were scared away by her Swampert.

Today the young shark found herself in Mossdeep City. A town that Anko found herself liking due to the fact it had a beach. If only a rocky beach.

So excited, was she to discover new towns and places. (Also, partly due to the fact they had scared the guard away) Anko had forgotten that she had no money to buy food.

She lay on the back of Chum, who moved slowly down towards the beach. Her stomach rumbling loudly, ominously like the roar of a mysterious and monstrous sea creature. Only increasing her look as and growing reputation as the strange part-shark, part girl. [break][break]

“Huwngwy...” [break][break]

Anko whined, softly as they made it onto the beach.
Chum made a noise as if to indicate care and Anko smiled. Though it soon faded as her stomach rumbled, once more. [break][break]

For his part, Chu-e had no idea a shark girl had even been found. He was the type who, lately, kind of avoided the news when he could. It was always depressing at the best of time. However, it seemed that he wouldn't manage to be ignorant for much longer, given their closing proximity.

Chu-e himself did not notice Anko or her pokemon right away. That was left to Pops and Quacks, the Marill and Psyduck not far from where she had surfaced. They were the relaxed sort of pokemon, having wandered from the grass and been fed out of hand by Chu-e in a friendlier means of capture than the violence of battling. That said, the two were also quite young. Where some would see a Swampert and see an apex predator, they only saw a new friend with a new human (who could also be a friend).

The blue mouse and yellow duckling made their way down the surf towards the two, chattering and babbling some nonsense as they did. It would roughly translate to 'play! play!' to Chum. Even Anko may have been able to tell what they wanted just from how they smiled and ran in circles.

"Yo! Where did you two go?!" Chu-e had glanced up and seem his two pokemon out of sight. Standing, he squinted and caught sight of the girl and swampert. "Be nice, you two!" He called after to his pokemon, shrugging. A hand was raised to wave at the new pair before he sat back down.

Aloe, the Slowking, was more wary. He stood up from his place and narrowed his eyes at the pair- he thought of himself as the younger pokemon's 'dad' and was reluctant to let them talk to strangers. As most fathers were.
