Chu-e did flinch a little at the fruit gift. He was kind of full... but also had always wanted to try a Tropius' fruit. So, assuming it was cool, he leaned over to grab one. About that time, a loud but muffled snuffing sounded, his Zoroark bounding over from where she had been harassing wild pokemon. A Bruxish was in her mouth, unconscious, and if she had a tail it would have been wagging. She dropped in on Chu-e's lap before bounding back off, kicking up sand as she went. "Ugh." Well, the pokemon looked kind of cool.... but getting slapped with wet fish wasn't fun. He quickly captured the creature before finally getting back to his fruit and also Lev's story.

"Ah, is this a 'Romeo and Juliet' type story? I hope it has a better ending." Other than that one comment, he resolved to stay quiet as the other spoke. He always hated it when people talked over movies and stuff with dumb comments so he wasn't about to start being what he hated now.

When a tray of clams were offered, the seafaring man happily plucked one up... before realizing this 'tray' was actually the rain dish of a Lombre that had come to inspect the picnic. The two looked at each awkwardly for a moment. Then Lev returned the clam and replaced it with an empty ball he pulled out of his pack, tapping it against the Lombre's forehead before it had a chance to nab a slice of watermelon.[break][break]

Blinking, he turned back to Ki. "Oh, uh... where was I again?"[break]

"I think right around the start?" Humming, Chu-e nibbled on the fruit. It tasted delicious, kind of similar to a plantain or banana over much sweeter. He wondered if it would be good grilled. Maybe he could ask Lev for an extra one or two so he could cook with them later.

He was just as amused by the Lombre, giggling behind his hand lightly when Lev almost stole one of it's clams. There seemed to be more wild pokemon hanging around but Ch-e wasn't all too interested in them for now. He did have a certain want for certain pokemon and was unsure how to raise others.

From a whirlpool in the water nearby, a Buizel launched itself upwards and towards the spot where the Lombre had been. Before Alevander could put away the aforementioned capture and pull out another empty ball, however, the little otter had managed to take a few big chomps out of the watermelon. But, rather than resort to anger or frustration, the blue-haired lad exuberated joy more than anything. It seemed to think the Delibird had come down and unwrapped this entire picnic for it personally![break][break]

As Chu-e listened in, his Slowking had made a new friend. Or, maybe was just frustrated. The psychic type marched a Slowbro over to his trainer and took one of his pokeballs, using it on the water type before stomping back off.

"Oh, it's hetero. Ew." He said it with a grin, clearly joking. But Chu-e still curled up, already enthralled by the story that Lev was telling. The other man had a way with words and he had barely started talking!
