[attr="class","spiral"]Hoenn's pride and joy: Devon Corporation. The regional company is the only one of its size in Hoenn. Anything big enough to compete originates elsewhere, from another region and therefore secondary to those who show mercantile patriotism. Which is why Fernando Silph wants it for himself. A merger between Silph Co. and Devon would make him the undisputed richest man in Hoenn, if not a good portion of the world. And, more importantly than that, it would entitle him to all the resources Devon has. Employees. Research. Resources in general. He wants it all. And the past weeks have been constant moves pushing him toward his end goal. All because their CEO, the latest in Stone casualties, had to die in the line of duty. That, coupled with their lack of replacement, and efforts by others to undermine their business flow, have caused its perception and stock price to plummet. Anyone who truly cares about the company, and even the region to an extent, ignores the bad news, but those just looking to invest and compound their worth jump ship. It's enough to capitalize on and forces them to move. One of those moves is following up with Stone's belongings. Among them, his computer is booted for the first time since the war started. It's obviously not him, given his status, but the company's IT, tasked with digging through his company laptop to copy over anything not on the network before purging it for reuse. For anyone interested in Devon, or just an opportune junkie looking for a ripe target, there is nothing sweeter than the momentary lapse in security in Hoenn's most influential companies. An offer on the dark web sells details when the computer will be booted on as well as how to get in. None of the security systems are disabled— turning off the firewall would be a red flag— which means it's up to them to break in and take what they want. Being able to disguise traffic and recover packets is up to those who think they're up to the task without getting caught. Fernando does it off his own network, piggybacking on someone's home wifi that he's long pilfered due to the assistance of his Porygon. Currently, he sits under the apartment he's leeching off of, tucked into the far end table at the end of the cafe he's visiting. The location and proximity of the living space he's invade is perfect. Now, if only he could remember how to do this fluidly. Most of his own hacking consists of a heavy reliance on his Pokemon. While that would be the most effective, their efficiency would paint him as target number one. Little does he know, he's not the first one online and ready.
