Chu-e listened intently. He gave a sad smile when the man mentioned losing his pokemon. He knew intimately what that was like, his own team being razed to the ground in that last push in Kanto. He had come out of it with only two pokemon- and now those two pokemon were gone now, too, wherever his husband had gone. None of the pokemon he had now were from before.

At the 'almost' Chu-e gave a small chuckle. "Same. Didn't get like this with just my lucky genetics." But, much like Sénon Game, this wasn't a topic he really wanted to breach any further with someone he had just met. And only really had intentions to tease, originally. Speaking of...

"You know, you never did remind me of your name." It was as good a way to change the subject as any. Since it looked like they would be spending some time with each other, Chu-e may as well think of some nicer topics. However, his train of thought was broken when an Azumarill tore from the treeline. His eyes lit up and Chu-e reached into his pocket, tossing out a blue-flowered Florges. The petal pokemon shook herself off upon being released.

Pointing towards the Azumarill, Chu-e took the first active part in catching a pokemon so far; a Petal Blizzard was whipped up around the Florges, shining blue, before the razor sharp things were shot at the water type. A pokeball of his own quickly followed, catching the blue pokemon.

Chu-e ends up wandering off for a moment when he spots a Carbink a little bit away in the brush. They're delicate creatures despite the hard hide, at least emotionally, so he does his best to gently coax the pokemon out of hiding. After a bit of cooing and soft words, he has the pokemon tucked away into a pokeball, pleased; this was one of the few Fairy types he needed to finish his collection. Just two more and he would have at least one of each of the Fairy types he knew about!

This is why it takes him so long to answer Sénon Game. He also maybe needed a moment, since Cinnabar tended to bring up bad memories. It was what had, previously, really cemented him as a Beast back in the Kantonian Rocket. Sometimes he still wakes up shaking from the stuff he saw and did there.

But when he comes back over, Chu-e offers a nod and a smile, even if a bit flimsier than before. "Nice to officially meet you then, Game. Or should I call you Sénon instead?" Since Senon is sitting, Chu-e sits down too. However, he has no problem just flopping down in the dirt. It will be hell to get back up but he sighs in relief, having not realized just how tired he already was.

"Oh, hey, is that a Tyrunt?" He sat up a little, taking in the pretty blue hide. "I've never been too keen on bulky pokemon, but I've always thought they were kinda cute. Will this one bite me if I try and pet?"

"I'm having a good time." Is all Chu-e replies with at first, shrugging. "Meeting new people is always weird and awkward. Just glad it didn't work out worse." He does huff out a soft laugh at that.

Before Chu-e can reply, the whole commotion with the Cleffa and Gabite happens. Sénon Game doesn't even need to ask. The words are scarcely out of the other man's mouth before a pokemon is released. While Chu-e could have just used his Florges again, the fairy type... doesn't actually know any fairy type moves. However, the Galarian Rapidash now between Senon and the Gabite does. Not that she even uses one.

The Gabite hisses back at the Tyrunt, only momentarily paused. Before it can lash out, the horse pokemon turns and slams her powerful hind legs into the pokemon for a kicking Stomp. The Gabite is knocked off it's feet and slammed against a tree, not expecting such a sudden or savage blow.

"That looked like it hurt." Chu-e winces, feeling bad for the dragon type. Well. He tosses a pokeball at it as well. As if to run salt in the wound, Galla, the Rapidash, starts to graze where the Gabite had landed.

"Galla is also nasty. No way in hell I can break that Gabite if I can't break her." The horse pokemon seemed to huff at him, tossing her mane at her trainer's assessment. She was, however, a very nasty pokemon. She loved to bite.

As he pondered about what to do with the Gabite, a Spritzee and some... weird rolling turd came out of the bushes next. They had probably been attracted by the fight; Spritzee were usually pokemon of opportunity like that. Chu-e already had an Aromatisse which he was raising to be a rounder, but a backup would never hurt to have. Plus, he honestly had no idea what that other pokemon was. He wasn't a pokedex.

"Galla? The pink one." Was all that Chu-e needed to say. Galla still seemed less than impressed. Her eyes started to glow blue as Psychic energy took her over... but all she did was lift up a big rock and hit the Spritzee with it. Chu-e just sighed and tossed a pokeball. "Never in my life would I have guessed that horses were so mean." His Mudsdale wasn't like this. Who would have known?
