Stormy tosses an empty pokeball up and down in her right hand. It lands time after time with a satisfying smack, and her fingernails bite into the seam. It's clear the woman is distracted, but her attention continues to scan back and forth around the route, absently looking for something.[break][break]

At her feet, a Growlithe keeps pace with her. He is performing a perfect heel, tail wagging. While Stormy doesn't really pay him much attention, the puppy Pokemon has not taken his eyes off of her. [break][break]

There is the sound of something being sawed, and she glances off to the side to watch a Scyther pulling a mean prank on a Komala. With a satisfying thud, the branch the bear Pokemon is clung to, asleep, falls to the ground. She winces, but the Komala remains asleep and snores loudly.[break][break]

Several dozen Swellow paint the sky, swooping and diving. They seem to be playing, but that playing becomes pranking and pestering when Stormy allows Growlithe to run amok in the grass and let loose. They dive-bomb the puppy instead, plucking at his tail, his ears, his scruff. With complaintive yelps, the Pokemon snaps up at them.[break][break]

With a calculated, patient snap, he wraps his firey fangs around one bird in particular and slams it to the ground. It flaps around, dazed and confused, and Stormy throws the empty pokeball she'd been carrying with her. It sucks the Swellow in and prompts the rest of them to disappear in a flurry of anxious feathers.[break][break]

"Nice catch, buddy! Birds are such assholes, aren't they? Come on, let's go home."[break][break]
