The Institute of Evol has moved onto greener and brighter pastures at the Pokemon League within Evergrande City, yet Hendrix chooses to stay behind in the humble town of Littleroot to maintain their original laboratory. He’s not alone. Evol’s fledgling scientist: bryan delarosa has also decided to reside in the small town, though more because he’s a homeless bum rather than his interest in science. (Not that he minds!)

Hendrix’s current study on rotoms, porygons, and pokeball capsule technology has garnered him enough attention and recognition from both the League and Silph Co. that they’ve offered him the same status as zenji jabami . Having little to no reason to object, Hendrix proudly wears the title of one of Hoenn’s head professor. After all, additional funds to his projects are always beneficial.

Working within his secret facility, the redheaded engineer’s attention is preoccupied with the small device in front of him. The sound of soldering can be heard amidst the loud rock music playing in the background.

An Indeedee approaches him from the side, setting down a warm cup of coffee onto the table. Lifting his safety goggles upwards, he sets down the kit to grab a hold of the coffee. Giving the Pokemon a smile, he takes a sip before placing it back onto the table, returning to his project in the meantime.

As was the custom for most men in her life, the text message she'd received that went with the voicemail had been vague, the only real definitive message being that they wanted her to come and see them. [break][break]

She had recently heard about Hendrix's promotion to head professor alongside Jabami, and so she'd shown up at the man's laboratory offices bearing gifts. She'd brought an expensive bottle of wine and a charcuterie board as those seemed to be 'in' thing these days in terms of appropriate food and drink-related gifts.[break][break]

However, upon arriving, it seemed that Hendrix might have neglected to mention to his peers that she was coming. They appeared confused by her sudden appearance, and although helpful in locating Hendrix, offered no further insight into the matter.[break][break]

Fortunately, Stormy doesn't seem all too concerned. The woman leans against the entryway after setting down her gifts on an empty desk. Arms crossed over her chest, she quietly watches the man hard at work, oblivious to her arrival. [break][break]

In the end, she opts to get his attention with a text message.[break][break]

You didn't forget about me, did you? - followed by a sulky emoji depicting her exaggerated broken heart.[break][break]

Seeing her trainer's guest unattended, the Indeedee waddles her way closer towards Stormy with outstretched hands and graciously accepts her gifts for him. The loud rock music momentarily softens as buzzing and a robotically synthesized voice takes over: ”You’ve got mail!” Hendrix sets down his soldering kit onto the table once again and lifts his phone up from the table. Still oblivious to the woman’s presence, he begins tapping away at his phone to reply.

Shamed by her trainer’s example, the Indeedee approaches him, tapping on his large bicep before motioning over towards the poor woman. The redheaded engineer arches his brow questioningly before finally looking over towards Stormy’s direction – his eyes widening and his cheeks quickly turning red. With one final tap against the phone’s screen, a soft beep echoes past the music – his message sent. ”No…?” he unconvincingly replies aloud.

His eyes dart down onto the screen of his phone as he prepares to delete the message, but knowing that it’s too late, he can only wallow and accept his failure.

He reaches behind his neck and rubs his hand against it and lets out a sheepish chuckle as he sets down the phone. ”Sorry.” he candidly apologizes. Hendrix lifts himself up from his chair and approaches the woman, ignoring her somewhat cross expression. Stretching out his hand, he reaches out to gently grab her hand. ”Thanks for coming over though.”

An Indeedee approaches her, palms outstretched and laid out for her to set her gifts in. She complies, if only because they're starting to grow heavy and she didn't know where exactly to put it by herself. She smiles sheepishly at the butlerly Pokemon, before brushing her hair back to look up at Hendrix-- who is now typing away at the text message she had just sent.[break][break]

However, thanks again to the Indeedee's interference, the young man eventually looks up from his desk. She witnesses his face change from confusion to surprise, cheeks reddening at the sight of her standing there. His response is equally unconvincing, and she tilts her head and maintains her pout.[break][break]

"Are you busy? I can come back later if you need - though you're the one who invited me."[break][break]

She seems to react briefly when he grabs her hand, but she doesn't pull away.[break][break]
