The last place Lex thought she would find herself was actively looking for a battle. Cillian Quinn made it clear that proper battle training was part of the game. To save her precious Thieves from the dangers of such a sport, she had amassed a small sum of, what she considered, battle-ready pokemon. So should the need arise, she was prepared. And Lex liked being prepared.
So here she was, on deck in an underground Battle Hut run by Rocket, waiting her turn to take to the arena and test out one of the newest members to her team. She fixated on the pokeball in her hand, the warmth of the powerful Blaziken radiating through it. Her stomach was in a knot, she didn’t know how to do this properly. Would the pokemon suffer from her mistakes?
She had to think past that, past the guilt and fear. There were bigger goals, a more comfortable life at stake. Perhaps stepping out of her comfort zone would calm the continuous anxiety that plagued her. Perhaps it would even make her a better thief.
”Your turn, missy,” a thug grunted, motioning towards the bloodied battlefield. They had just finished carting off a rather badly injured Mightyena from the previous battle. The agile thief gracefully cleared the tall edges of the rustic battlefield, landing with a confidence she was use to faking. Her long red hair was tied back, the shorter, loose ends slightly obscuring the eye without the scar. The white tank top showed off her toned arms and a pair of black utility pants tucked into black boots made it look like she was ready for a fight herself.
The red flash of light from the pokeball in her hand materialized into a tall, lean Blaziken. She was told he was powerful, a battle primed pokemon. Well, we would see now, wouldn’t we?
Lex is ready to battle with her Blaziken!
