After watching it nearly decapitate Chu-e Choi, Gavin shares Alexandra Briarwood's fury.

They come upon her in a fit of apparent rage, hair in disarray and smudges of grime suggesting her jaunt through the vents. Rowan Wrynn is quick to offer help, where Gavin's critical eye sweeps the breakroom for threats.

"Was it here?"

She'd been part of the initial hunt for it, he recalls.

Lex’s head snapped towards the soft voice of Rowan Wrynn although her gaze glanced over the grunt and focused instead on the Underboss. The sight Cillian Quinn immediately makes her posture straighten; a more reasonable demeanor breaks through the wild fury (although it is definitely still there).

“No, it was in the training facilities,” where it almost squashed her like a bug, “I had to crawl here through another set of vents after it collapsed the ones we were in,” Foolish. She flexed her right hand, the sharp pain of the laceration making her twitch, “I’m blocking the vents here with ELECTROWEBS so it can’t some this way. One less place to look, ya know?” Although, she was unsure if a set of measly Electrowebs would stop the thing.

His muscles relax when Alexandra Briarwood confirms its absence, but the intensity of his expression never wavers.

"Good thinking. We'll help."

Rowan Wrynn's already reaching to do just that, and the underboss gives him a curt, approving nod. Gavin cycles through his storage, frowning as he considers how to help shore up the defenses. After a pause, he rouses the Klefki at his belt.

Battlefield commands with clicks and whistles lack the complexity he'll need to spare their allies in a tight space, so Gavin uses words. "Lay down SPIKES, but make sure there's nothing in the way."

The sentient keyring jingles as it floats lazily into the vents.

"Once our Pokémon have returned, we hope this stops it long enough to give us a warning before we have another incident like Chu-e Choi's on our hands."

His tone is grim; he forgets that Rowan Wrynn doesn't know the details.

Lex appreciates the help and watched the weird little blob of a pokemon crawl over to the vent and hoist itself up with a hand that seemed to come out of nowhere. What the hell was that thing?!

Amber eyes turn towards Rowan Wrynn at his audacious comment. Lex was in no mood to be teased, that should have been obvious, “Yes, because this is exactly what I wanted to do today,” she spat back at Rowan Wrynn with pinched brows.

At the mention of Chu-e Choi, her shoulders tensed, “This thing is getting too dangerous,” she agrees, “Let’s hope it doesn’t get more bold,” she assumes the Underboss had other members planting similar traps throughout the submarine.

Gavin scowls as Alexandra Briarwood spits venom.

"We're on the same side, Briarwood."

Though he understood pain, anger, that the joke may not have been funny to its subject, so too does Gavin understand the gravity of the situation. They couldn't afford to tear each other apart when Genesect was busy tearing up the sub. Again.

"Difficult to plan for something we don't understand," he admits, grim. "Stay out of its way, if you can. I saw what it did to Choi firsthand."

What it had tried to do, anyway.

"Prioritize lives. We built it once, it can be rebuilt."

Lex let the tension release form her shoulders with a sigh before pressing her unharmed hand into her forehead as if trying to tame a blistering headache, “Sorry, I’m . . . on edge,” Understatement of the century. Her heart still pounded with the adrenaline left over by her encounter with Genesect.

Her lids peeled open to glance at Rowan Wrynn when he asked a good question. A gaze turned to Cillian Quinn when he answered. Lex nodded, happy to hear that they wouldn’t hesitate to destroy the creation in order to save lives. At least their priorities were in order. For now, she just wanted to get off this damn sub. The redhead stalked over to the open grate, “Hey, June! Hurry up in there,” her voiced echoed down the shaft as she peered through the darkness to see if the insect was on her way back.
