Rowan Wrynn Rock/ground/grass wild

Melody had been wandering around the desert looking for new inspiration, and hoenns diverse biomes offered plenty in terms of inspiration. She had heard of a Pokémon named Maractus that when they shake their arms mimics the sounds of maracas. She however was NOT properly prepared for all this DAMN SAND. Melody was spitting it out of her mouth as she lifted up her shirt over her mouth. She at least had the common sense to bring goggles to protect her eyes but she hadn't considered the fact sand would be flying into her mouth.

“Fuck!” Rowan exclaimed as he missed his footing on the apex of the dune, sent tumbling all the way down to the bottom and face planting into the sand. “I hate it here.” Why had he come out here again? Right, Pokemon. “Keep moving, Rowan.” A groan escaped his lips as he pushed himself up from the sand, dusting himself off and adjusting the scarf that covered his mouth for what seemed like the hundredth time. Not too far in the distance was the visage of someone walking across the desolate stretch of land, originally considering them to be nothing more than a mirage until he saw them sputtering sand out of their mouth. “Mirages don’t do that.”

Rowan crossed the distance between them as quickly as he could, practically stumbling over himself as he sprinted over the shifting ground. “Hey!” Even with the goggles, familiarity struck him as he drew closer. “Melody? Is that you?” Twice now they’d met under strange circumstances, if he didn’t know any better then he’d assume that Arceus himself was telling him to befriend her at this point. “What are you doing all the way out here?”

"HUH?" Melody said turning dramatically to a voice that was calling out behind her. She was almost to the point of tears she HATED this desert so far, it was all just sand and dirt and shit flying into her face and mouth, WHO ACTUALLY LIKES IT HERE? Melody saw that she ran into that rowan person against "OH HEY!" she said trying to shout over the wind as it began to kick up more and more. "I'm looking for Pokémon! Why are YOU HERE?" she said as the sand continued to kick dirt into her mouth and she'd spit it back out. A Bayleaf approached the pair then and melody was extremely quick on the draw. She whipped out her pokeball and tossed out her and released her toxtricity "toxic jab! take it down for me to catch!" she ordered as toxtricity had a hard time at first due to the sand flying into it's eyes. It missed the intial attack and bayleaf countered it with a razor leaf, crap moves that would rely on his eye sight failed so ya know what? Time to make it not matter, "Rowan, cover your ears mouth and eyes!" she shouted hoping he could do it in time "BOOM BURST!" she said as she covered her ears and a huge cloud of sand exploded in the area around them and caught bayleaf in the blast. Once the dust settled it seemed like the mini sandstorm went away due to the soundwaves. God that move was dangerous sometimes, melody took out a pokeball and tossed it at bayleaf to capture. "THANK GODDDD" she said as she took off the goggles for a moment of release from those tight ass goggles.

Cover his ears, mouth and eyes? How many hands did Melody think he had to oblige the request? Rowan squeezed his eyes shut as tight as possible, reaching up with both hands to cover his ears, glad that he’d been wearing a scarf to keep his mouth covered from what was about to come. An explosion of sound rocked the sandy dunes around them, nearly knocking Rowan backwards onto his ass from underestimating exactly how much damage she intended to do. “I’M LOOKING FOR POKEMON TOO!” He shouted as the ringing in his ears overtook the sound of his own voice, slightly annoyed but knowing that Melody had good intentions from what he’d seen of her.

“Oww, what the fuck?” Rowan looked down at his legs, sudden jabs of pain radiating from them like needles only to find a Cacnea staring back up at him with wide eyes. Apparently the force of the blast was enough to uproot the cactus Pokémon and sent it on a trajectory that got its needles stuck on Rowan’s pants. “Sorry, mate.” Grabbing an empty Pokeball from his belongings, Rowan lobbed it down at the Cacnea, taking advantage of the fact that it couldn’t run away. “We need to stop running into each other like this.” Rowan looked towards Melody with a small bit of amusement in his voice, stepping across the shifting sands to get close to her once more. “Here, looks like you could use this.” He produced a spare scarf from his belongings and offered it to the girl, hoping more than anything to get her to stop spitting bits of sand into the air around him.

During the brief time of things being ok, melody eagerly grabbed the scarf and wrapped it around her mouth. "Thank arceus you came when you did, I was afraid I was going to need to turn back." She said "This sandstorm is pretty wicked...where is it even coming from? The weather tower didn't say anything about such strong ass winds today." she said looking around for a bit before seeing a strange pink white and green figure bolting at her with tremendous speed. A tsareena, and it seems like that bayleaf was her frien- Oh god it's fucking pissed. [break][break]

Tsareena ran up to toxtricity, the culprit Pokémon for the boom burst and landed a dramatic trop kick on it's chest. More like a drop kick with flower sprinkles all over it andddd there goes toxtricity. It was sent flying as melody suddenly realized that she or rowan was going to be next. Toxtricity quickly recovered from the attack as melody issued another attack command " Quickly! overdrive!" she commanded as toxtricity let out a blast of loose electricity from it's chest organ. Tsareena was knocked out pretty easily as melody threw a pokeball at it. "What in the world, they're like...full blown attacking us for being here they? she just attacked out of nowhere!"

“Happy to help, you seem like you nee-...” Rowan suddenly dropped to the ground as the thwacking of a blunt object against the back of his knee sent him careening into the sand. “What the hell?” Glancing back towards his attacker, it seemed as though Cacnea had an upset acquaintance as well in the Cubone that huffed angrily towards him. “Oh you want to play dirty, huh? Okay, you got it.” Rowan reached down to the Pokeballs affixed his belt and plucked one loose, tossing it upwards into the air to unleash the Rookidee contained within. “Valor, give her a good Pluck!”

Most Flying Pokémon wouldn’t have been eager to attempt navigating a sandstorm, especially ones that were as small as Rookidee. This wouldn’t stop Valor, however, getting the gleam of challenge in his eyes before taking flight towards the Cubone with his beak aglow. Slamming into the Cubone with his beak, the enemy Pokemon was knocked backwards onto the sand, Valor quickly scooping up her bone weapon and taking to the air once more. Cubone let out loud cries of frustration as she attempted to chase the Rookidee through the sands to get her bone back, providing Rowan an ample distraction to attempt a capture. “Brilliant, Valor!” He called out as he lobbed the Pokeball through the air at the Cubone. “Melody, I hate the desert.”

Rowan Wrynn 12 remain capturing carbink

A carbink shuffled it's way out of the sand that settled after the rather loud and noisy concert melody just put on. The carbink had been hanging around them the whole time but the pair had just not ever noticed it due to the limited vision. However now that it was all gone for the moment it was buried alive, it spewed out of the ground suddenly along with a weepinbell. Melody took the chance to slam a pokeball into the cute little rock fairy creature and then turned her attention back to rowan. "oH YOU TOO?" she began to shout as the sandstorm began to whip wildly around them again, melody recalled her toxtricity and then sent out her dragapault for rowan to grab on "Then let's get the hell out of here and go elsewhere." she said extending a hand for him. She did NOT want to come back here again for a while, one day she'll have her precious marcatus but for now the desert thoroughly beat her ass enough that she did NOT want to return. "You coming?" she asked

Just when it seemed as though the Pokémon onslaught was over, Carbink and Weepinbell shuffled out of the sands, likely having been buried by either the storm or Melody’s previous attack. “I’m at least getting my worth out of this bloody trip.” Rowan grabbed onto an empty Pokeball and aimed for the convenient target that Weepinbell’s gaping maw presented, hitting his mark with relative ease. “Arceus, I thought you’d never ask.” He responded jokingly, though his expression was difficult to discern with the scarf that covered his face.

“Believe me, i’m not staying here any longer than necessary.” Grabbing onto her hand, Rowan climbed aboard the Dragapult, returning Valor to his Pokeball before they took off. “Get me the hell out.” This was enough sand for one lifetime, and many more after that.
