The situation had escalated.[break][break]

Her footsteps clip against the pavement as she makes her way somewhat hastily to kyle lopez's front door. Earlier that day she'd called the man with confusion laced in the somewhat frantic note in her voice and the huffs of her trying to fend something off.[break][break]

She'd recently come into possession of several coloured discs, and apparently, what's hers was Khimaira's. Minding her business in the kitchen, fixing herself a drink and examining the yellow-flavored disc, her Silvally had come up out of nowhere with his ear plugs wide open and his body language way too friendly to be normal.[break][break]

He'd gotten riled up and dare she say excited over the disc, and had at some point managed to wrestle it from her. It clicked into place behind his ear and then he'd blown a fuse and blew up the mug of coffee she'd made. The toaster was kaput, the fridge turned off, and she'd told Kyle she was coming over with the Silvally in tow.[break][break]

And now here she was, knocking at his front door and still tingling with leftover electricity.[break][break]

the call was unexpected, if not worrying. he tries not to panic with her rather ominous message, especially since it doesn't seem like it's going to end up in a silvally play date.

kyle immediately opens the door when he hears stormy rushing through his place. he swings open the door with a coffee mug at hand, with the puppy pokemon all rushing out to the yard, and sees stormy with an expression he didn't expect her to have.

"you're, uh, paralyzed? do you need a paralyze heal?"

she doesn't seem to be worried for something too important. she didn't carry the expression she always had whenever she pulls him out of his house to do things with her as well. eventually (which is after a second), he gives up on guessing and directly asks her.

"er, what's wrong? should i be worried?"

Stormy twinges, likely still feeling the effects of the electrical shock she'd received. Silvally, on the other hand, seems not at all bothered. The yellow addition to its appearance was new, however, and it seemed to be brimming with energy.[break][break]

"Uhhh, maybe? I don't know if its worrying - it might be, maybe it is. Oh man."[break][break]

She takes a breath and meekly gestures to the Pokemon at her side. It seems nonchalant, though every once in a while it presses its nose to her pockets as if searching for something.[break][break]

"I found these.. discs, I guess they are, and Khimaira here seems to be really interested. Like.. scary interested. It practically took me down trying to get at it. It was a yellow one, and suddenly the Silvally was spitting out electrical energy. It's never done that before."[break][break]

She taps at the area behind the Pokemon's ear.[break][break]

"It ate the disc with its ear. Super weird, right? Has yours done anything like that?"[break][break]

"silvally memories," kyle answers immediately. "those are what we call those disc things. they're worth something over the internet despite being unusable by a lot of people, so you should start collecting those."

he blinks before he realizes he elaborated everything first before giving stormy the proper answer to her question.

"oh, but yeah, it's happened."

the silvally comes out of his home and peeks its head out of the door. kyle's unsure if it has some inherent sensor for its fellow silvally friends and it's out here to greet its brethren, or if it's just curious for the first time. regardless, he ignores him and continues his explanation.

"you got yours from cotillard too, right?" he asks her. he's pretty sure fernando's the only one that bought his. "still got the manual that came with it?"

Stormy parrots the phrase thoughtfully, like a child in awe of a new toy. It prompts her to shift her attention from the man and back to the Silvally. The Pokemon seems quite pleased, the gears in its head clicking and whirring with more enthusiasm than she'd ever seen before. Electricity sparks on occasion, but it doesn't seem to bother him.[break][break]

He informs her that the discs are basically a scalper's wet dream and she purses her lips. Turns out, she was one too- except she'd bought them and actually had a use for them other than just buying as many as she could before they'd gone out of stock. Up until now, they'd just been sitting stagnant because she wanted to be one of the only few with a collection.[break][break]

Seems she had had her third eye open the whole time.[break][break]

It is a comfort to hear that his own Silvally had reacted the same way, and she glances at the man's Pokemon now when it peeks around the corner. Her own seems considerably more excited to see him than expected- the Pokemon was generally uninterested in just about anything.[break][break]

"Uhh.. yeah, but I didn't think to keep the manual. I thought it was a little weird to have one for a Pokemon. It's not like its a machine--"[break][break]

Though she frowns now as she says it out loud while watching her Pokemon act very much like a machine. Hmm..[break][break]

"Do you still have yours?"[break][break]

"yup," kyle responds, arms on his hips as he feels like a responsible person for once. "i can even give you a summarized copy of it, courtesy of yours truly, if you want."

he tips his imaginary fedora to stormy.

"but basically, it's for their move, multi-attack. it's like a burst of energy that changes its typing depending on the memory currently on the silvally. yours probably got too excited to try it out the moment it got a hold of a memory."

he finds himself chuckling shortly afterwards. he makes a brief comparison from the few moments he meets up with stormy's chimera of a pokemon between the trainer and it, and forms a conclusion he quickly shares.

"ever consider your silvally picking up on your mannerisms? fern got here the other time and i noticed the same thing on his."

Though she knew, deep down, that that copy would be left on her kitchen counter until she spilled something on it and was forced to toss it. But it was the thought that counted, and she wasn't self-aware enough to really see how absolutely useless she was.[break][break]

She does, however, listen intently as he explains to her the summed up details about the move. As if the Silvally knows that he is being spoken about, the Pokemon wiggles, evidently excited. Kyle chuckles, Stormy chuckles, and the poor microwave at home sits still overcharged and smoking.[break][break]

"I can see it: yours is a shut-in lazy-bones.. mine is cool, calm and relaxed and.. let me guess, Fern's has a stick up its butt?"[break][break]

She winks, nudging the man in jest.[break][break]

"Maybe its kinda like how your Pokemon start to look like their trainers."[break][break]

"come in," kyle invites stormy in his house. "you can leave your silvally with mine. i'm sure they will be best friends, or something."

the silvally turns to kyle with horror in its eyes as a leg sweeps it to the open.

"you got it right with fern's!" kyle snickers before he quickly shifts to a sadder tone for comedic effect. "stiff, super serious boy with no life in its eyes."

if stormy follows him in, kyle quickly dashes for the laptop on the couch, snatching one of the few flash drives that lie by the television. he inserts it on the usb port before he falls on the cushions, the laptop on his lap.

"y'know, i've been working on this thing after fern got his. you can say you're getting version 1.2!"

1.0 was cotillard's own work. 1.1 was the one he gave to FERNANDO SILPH that was basically just the entire thing, but summarized since kyle can't be bothered to go through ten paragraphs just to find one sentence in the document that he needed.

She takes a breath before stepping inside, closing the door behind her. Her Silvally hesitates, eager to follow her as well, but eventually separates from her to join the second one. Tentative sniffing and eager rear-end wagging indicate the Pokemon is excited but nervous.[break][break]

"Yeah.. what a prick."[break][break]

Stormy does not exhibit the same energy Kyle does. She watches as he dashes across the room to scoop up a laptop, and she makes her way toward him slower.[break][break]

"Cool, cool. Hopefully I can help Khimaira master this special move."[break][break]

The woman leans against the back of the couch, looking over Kyle's shoulder at the screen.[break][break]

"you know what'll help it more?" kyle finishes the file transfer to the drive and tilts his head upward, handing the stick to stormy. "strawberries. mine likes them very much."

on the screen of his laptop was the document, all summarized into bullet points for easier understanding. some were put into graphs with big fonts like cheat sheets used by college students.

kyle would've had a bunch of diplomas if he opted for tertiary education.

"i added a bunch of things that weren't in the original too. just a bit of things that i got from observation." he scrolls past the document all the way to the part with a list of food. "all of his favorites are here. got them all from trial and error. maybe yours would like it too since they all have the same dna anyways."

he scrolls through the document for a second time. much like the version he gave fernando, he makes sure that the instructions to make one were removed. they don't need more tortured souls in this city of hoenn, especially since he's not certain if they'd need it anymore after the failed invasion of megalopolans.

"don't worry much about it though. i think that move is inherent to them so they won't need much training for it," he assures stormy. "they might have a favorite one from the many though. mine certainly has dislikes."

The thought is certainly odd, but she glances back at her mechanical dog with a spark of curiosity. [break][break]

"What about banana?"[break][break]

Kyle scrolls down to another section of his marvelous cheat sheet and she allows herself the forwardness to reach over his shoulder to scroll for herself. While she reads she highlights and clicks off, only to rehighlight the passage again again until she'd finished reading. As she reads, she hums, intrigued by what she finds.[break][break]

"Never took you for the note-taking type, honestly, but I'm glad you are. God knows I never would have thought to do that."[break][break]

Stormy pulls away eventually, breathing out a satisfied sigh.[break][break]

"Dislikes? Like what? I sure hope mine's a fan of the fire-type disc.. otherwise this is bound to get real awkward."[break][break]

"yup. bananas are up there near the top tier. no grapes though, but i guess that means more for me."

he's pretty sure he included a lot of common fruits on the list that he can find in a grocery store. the rarer, more exotic ones weren't however since kyle's too cheap to use them for a test.

certain judgement about his character, like not being expected to be a note taker, was taken with a proud huff and a puff of his chest, hands on his hips. somehow, breaking expectations was oddly satisfying.

"i tried putting a disc with the same size as the silvally memories with music on them. he won't let me." multiple times did he manage to get him to try it in case it was just an acquired taste. all of those times, the discs got ejected. "oh, if we're speaking of memories, mine doesn't like dark. well, he hates everything, but that one gets more of it."

Though she does chuckle at the thought. It prompts her to glance back at her own and ponder the thought. Cleaning would be a hell of a lot more fun if her Silvally could her her podcasts or Pokefy playlists while she worked. Alas.. that was not to be, and she'd just have to pick up a replacement stereo system that spied on your recent internet searches later.[break][break]

And this time, not let her Rotom anywhere near it.[break][break]

kyle can only shrug. as much as he knows his silvally since he raised him from its birth, there were still inconsistencies with its behavior more often than not.

"he just shakes his head and pouts like a spoiled kid when he's not in a mood. i'm working on getting that off of him though."

surprisingly stubborn, he hopes that his own silvally doesn't reflect on him as a person.

"but yeah, i think that's it for the most part. i don't think there's anything else new in a silvally compared to their previous form. it still kicks ultra beast butt, but i'm not sure how relevant that part is going to be."

current events and all suggest that there shouldn't be any resurgence of them anytime soon unless prompted by another force after all.
