He sees her moving towards him. At first, he struggles against her touch. He knows his mask has cracked. He's uncertain if it exposes his face or not, and he doesn't want her to find out his true identity. Though, in all honesty, she would likely be the most understanding. But then he feels it: that familiar pink mist.

It's a sweet sensation when it washes over him, slowly easing away the pain and the aching. He groans in her arms as he feels her work this magic, and his body shudders when it is intensified by the healing pulse of her Galarian Ponyta. As his vision clears, he looks up at her smiling, somewhat stunned behind his cracked mask. She didn't even know who he was... she didn't even seem to care... yet she had still helped him.

Her whisper falls on an eager ear. He's taken back to those nights alone with her since they'd rendezvoused in that hotel. Delicious, sultry meetings that they had devoted to each other, mind and body. And every instance that he'd endeavored to destroy her in those contexts, to use her as he pleased until his ravenous, selfish desires were sated.

Yet here she was; like an angel in the flesh.

He nods in response, staggering onto one knee before rising to both feet. "There's an exit to the southeast... find it and go. I believe the others have been... sealed off." Just as she turns to leave, however, he adds: "And... thank you, Illeana."

Should she find him knowing her name to be odd, she wouldn't have much time to approach the curious name slip as his shadowed Dragapult returned to his side, out from a swirling dark portal with an Orbeetle. Returning his Pokémon to their balls, then checking to ensure the meteor fragment remained safely in his inner pouch, the fox-faced admin mounts the spectral dragon before promptly disappearing in another portal.

EXIT



tl;dr: Remiel thanks Illeana for healing him, tells her of a known exit, then returns his Pokémon to their balls before escaping on his shadowed Dragapult with his meteor fragment in his possession. Exit!

“Useless trainer.”

Fernando quips amidst the battle on purpose—a juvenile hope that it’ll unnerve his opponent into making a hasty mistake. He’s ready to follow up with another thrust of his Comfey but the chance never comes.

A battle waged between two trainers in a hostile environment is prone to interruptions. Thankfully, the coin flip lands in his favor and the Claydol targets the other.

It’s just the breakthrough he needs as another PROTECT is projected to prevent the Claydols from bombarding him as well.

Another SURF kills what’s left of the flames. From there, Fernando regroups with his Zygarde and taper off as the Regidrago picks up steam. Disabling the Pokemon seems near impossible so Fernando settles for a quick TRICK to nab what samples he can before fleeing.

The fact everyone else is gone well ahead of him forces his hand.

prior to the conflict which had abruptly broken down into a raw chaos, cait had effectively slipped out of view. the crumbling or miraculously standing remnants of the village had drew her focus, causing her wanderlust to set in. her dragonite had escorted her into a building with a wary look, cait's steps taken tentatively as she peered into the shadowy depths of the simple structure composed of cut stone.

it's occupants were long gone - and long dead - but there were untouched pieces of history present within the dust-encrusted confines. no thieves or researchers had been granted access to such a place, so she was allowed to be one of the first humans to set foot in here for centuries.

'i probably won't get this chance again.'

the budding researcher within her reached out, securing what appeared to be a stone tablet. the writing was indecipherable, but there were also images scrawled upon its surface as well.

'ancient writing? this could be anything. even a grocery list, for all i know.'

her dragonite raised his head and released a low grumble, becoming increasingly aware of what was occurring beyond the entranceway. but cait was utterly fixated, intent on gathering what she could. unfortunately, she only possessed a single pack with limited space - which meant she had to pick carefully. she settled for a picture of the tablet, a small carving of what appeared to be a dragon pokemon, a form of currency and a knife.

with her treasures stowed away, she raised her head only as the noise began to settle. it was only then she realized that aught was amiss and she was strangely absent for all of it. 

'shit.' 

cait hurriedly shouldered her now lumpy bag.

'shit. shit. shit.' 

her dragonite serves as her mount, the pokemon's plump body deceptively quick as they search and find their respective party to join them at the village's exit and beyond that.  the absence of most of the claydol is barely noticed, with cait struggling to maintain a stoic expression. 

- cait gets preoccupied by some historic-related things. seeing as she's kindasorta a nerd for it.

- misses all the crazy shit.

- collects a bunch of stuff that would make the crew of 'pawn stars' sweat. 

- rejoins the folk in the midst of exiting, maintaining a straight face all the while.
