"They're ravenous!" Zac exclaimed, pushing his way back to Michi through the hordes of Pokemon. The Ursaring, Patrat, and Watchog had vanquished his rows of vegetables and made a feast of his fruits. The ground was littered with toppled banana trees, and the singular palm that had sprouted from Zac's shed was the only tree that remained untouched. A family of Patrat scampered up the side of the shed, making for the coconuts at the top of the tree. Two Ursaring, apparently still unsatisfied, beat at the metal sides of the rickety shed. "You want food? I'll give you bloody food!" Zac called, as he grabbed two handfuls of Rawst berries from the basket Michi had brought. He pushed back through the Ursaring, arms held high to keep the berries away from the drooling snouts of the bears. Zac reached the middle of the garden, and crouched down next to a milk-filled hole in the lawn. He brought the two handfuls of Rawst berries together and squeezed them, turning the plump fruit into a mess of chunky jelly. Cringing at what Michi would say, he thrust his hands into the hole, and poured energy into the mixture. Blue fruit flesh mixed with the milk, and the rawstberry milkshake surged and bubbled as the seeds in Zac's hands popped like cooked kernels. Plump roots wriggled between his fingers, digging into the sopping soil. The milk in the pool surged and then dropped, sucked up into the body of the sprouting sapling. A thick trunk telescoped upwards, pushing Zac out of the way as it jostled for room. The wet soil around the hole buckled, sucking in one of Zac's bare feet. He stepped back, keeping his hands pressed against the groaning bark. More! He willed, and the trunk split in two, each side arcing out over the yard. Branches unfurled like strips of green carpet, leaves dancing under the tapping rain. "More!" Zac said, out-loud this time, and bouquets of buds burst from the seams between the boughs. The bunches of buds bulged, blossomed, and burst into a bounty of brilliant blue berries. In moments Zac had transformed an open space in his yard into a hanging orchard of Rawst berries. Immediately the new food source was swarmed by the wild Pokemon, but as Zac kept his hands pressed to the split trunk the berries regrew as fast as they were consumed. Zac let out a deep, shuddering breath and tilted his head up, letting his mouth fill with more of the sweet milk. He swallowed, and turned back to Michi, face plastered with a big grin. "There we go! Easy as that!" he called to her, laughing as he saw a Watchog slip on the milky bark of the tree. Zac took his hands off the trunk and walked back to Mich. He didn't feel tired at all.
