Oscar nodded in agreement, mindlessly tinkering with a wrench while watching Chu-e work. "Any time, always down for some misadventures." His reply was meant for both of Chu-e's statements, as Oscar was both excited to work with the underboss again while also being pumped to confront Genesect.

How long had it been since Genesect chaotically made its presence known? It felt like a few days, but it had to have been a month or two. Damn thing disappeared into thin air, and Oscar had secretly been obsessing with it ever since. As much as Oscar had wanted to work with Chu-e, he had an alternative reason to see his companionship.

He recalled that at the end of the first hunt Genesect had signaled out Chu-e in a dreadful attack. Oscar wouldn't say that he was using Chu-e as bait per-say--more of stacking the odds toward another encounter. 

Emma the ariados was eager for another hunt as well. She remained invisible, watching each of the open vents as pink smoke poured from them. This robotic fiend wouldn't escape her grasp a second time.

SPIRAL, Chu-e Choi

Hopping down from his perch, Chu-e placed his hands on his hips and admired his handiwork. The area was slowly filling with pink mist and the rooms down here would smell like sugar for weeks. Perfect. "So, do you have any idea how to stop it if it shows up? I don't really want to use my neck again." The memory was faded but still unpleasant. It was the start of his whole misadventures with the crystals and he wasn't eager to continue it.

Idly he scratched his neck.

"I bet that if we used Explosion enough it would die. They fixed a hole in the sub once, I'm sure they could do it again."

Oh fuck it showed up.

Oscar blinked and in mere moments Genesect had burst through the vents and landed between Oscar and Chu-e. Oscar stared into this astounding abomination face-to-face, his entire body frozen as he anticipated an attack. To his surprise however, he saw the word 'Protect' appear on its visor. Oscar squinted as it turned toward Chu-e, and once again the mechanical beast seemed to be only interested in vaporizing the underboss. 

Luckily, Emma was there to lend a hand. She dropped her camouflage, appearing above the Genesect. She looked upon the robot, her eyes glowing as she exerted Psychic forces into its body. Her aim was to rip apart its machinery from the inside, hopefully putting it in such a state that the creature would be unable to continue its attack on Chu-e.

Chu-e Choi, SPIRAL 

Chu-e stared at the mechanical abomination that had planted itself between himself and oscar clayton.

"You ever feel like you might have fucked up?"

Chu-e hadn't, honestly, been expecting it to show up at all... let alone so soon. A few of his fairy types were out, notably his Aromatisse, but they were all on the same side as Oscar... which was behind the Genesect. So, this time, there wasn't anything between Chu-e and the robot. Not that Cipher had been able to stop it before. But, well, it might make him feel better.

A few quick and very stupid things went off in Chu-e's head at once.

"Oscar if I die, tell Walsh to buy better shampoo!"

And then he took off running at the Genesect.

It is only over a decade of training and enduring a lot worse that Chu-e bites back more than a strangled choke. It fucking hurts. He also thinks that maybe this wasn't such a good idea. He's still alive, though, and the attack has given his pokemon, trapped behind the Genesect and oscar clayton before, enough time to scurry on the vents and pop out the other side, laden in the Misty Terrain of the hallway.

A Slurpuff and Mawile stand between their trainer and the Genesect. Even if they might not be able to do much, they would die if it prevented even a little harm to their Trainer.

Looked like this was mostly up to Oscar.

The genesect began to jolt apart, as if a powerful force was crushing it from within. Oscar glanced upward, and was unsurprised to find Emma playing her part. He was hopeful that her efforts would stop that laser, because if she couldn't--

She didn't.

The laser fired regardless, and Chu-e felt inclined to run into the beam. Oscar blinked as his second favorite boss was incinerated in front of him, and there was nothing he could do. Oscar felt the urge to cry out for Chu-e, but there wouldn't be a point. Oscar saw that beam clear as the sun, and no one could possibly survive a direct hit.

The smoke cleared, and Oscar looked up solemly as he prepared to look upon the smoldering remains of Mr. Choi. As Oscar looked upon a very intact Chu-e, a sudden chill of fear would overtake him. He was unable to comprehend what he saw, having not witnessed his previous miraculous survival. 

"Holy shit, what'd you do!?"

Oscar probably wouldn't get his answer before Emma leapt upon the genesect. The robot's cannon was charging for another brutal attack, and Emma wasn't planning on allowing it to strike twice. She slashed forward, aiming to push the genesect downward with a well timed Suckerpunch. Oscar gasped as the chaos began, holding his breath as his fate was decided.

Chu-e Choi, SPIRAL

Oscar couldn't believe it. He fully expected the sub to be ripped in half, what's the hold up? Oscar caught the tail end of Chu-e's crystal magic show, and once more he was floored. When did he learn to do that? Where?. Words would have to be exchanged once the underboss had recovered.

Speaking of, Oscar felt inclined to rush to Chu-e's side. Oscar would call upon medical staff, and shortly after he would call upon the head scientists: Lulu Flint and Miles Sharp. Emma began to wind up the genesect in her web, compressing it as much as possible in case it woke up. Oscar watched the genesect's entombing, and as the last shade of purple was lost within the spider's web--Oscar would smile.

Chu-e Choi, SPIRAL

He gasps out, bleary, but even Chu-e can't miss the fucking tentacle in action.

It's unavoidable. The crystals are quick, yet somehow he finds the strength to raise a hand and try to touch the base. Almost a caress before his hand drops back down.

What are you? What do you want?

But he does feel gratitude to whatever the fuck this thing is.

He wonders if it can feel it.

Then there was oscar clayton, the Genesect being wrapped up in a web by his Ariados. Chu-e grunts and tries to lean on the other man. "Help me up." Is rasped out. He's in no condition to really be moving around but...

"Shake we didn't blow it up." He offers a weak smile.
