Shit! Is all he could think as he does try to run, not even looking at the Crobat to know that he is the target. But the pain in his leg makes him trip once more, and all he could do is try to brace himself for the attack. Though the pain never comes because as predicted Nidorina had come to his aid. Took the attack for him to protect her trainer, “Nidorina,” he panics some as she falls over fainted and unable to continue. For now he waits, not recalling her a he awaits for his teacher to judge him and his technique

Again he wants to complain about things being unfair as the person before him only had to battle with one pokemon why was he being forced to call another. But orders were orders so he would return Nidorina before he gets out another pokeball, ”Alright Espurr you’re up” as he calls the cat they seem confused to be there. He worries though as he doesn’t have as much training for battle as Nidorina, but at least they had the type advantage. [break][break]

He gives a whistle and points, and while the Espurr knows what his trainer wants he seems confused as they point at Theo. Damn it Espurr really didn’t have as much experience and understanding that trainers were okay to attack to. ”Come on,” he encourages as he whistles the order again. Espurr then turns and shrugs before opening his mouth to use DISARMING VOICE

[attr="class","beck"]it's not the most elegant of moves but it works the way theo had planned for it to. the DISARMING VOICE rings through the air, sharp, and it forces the crobat to move all the way back to its trainer in an attempt to block the majority of the sound waves.

if raziel is smart, he should have realized that the only offensive move crobat knows from this distance is an AIR SLASH. the attack flies towards raziel again, predictable.

Just like that, the boy thinks to himself as he whistles short and the Espurr perks up actually knowing this one. The kitten’s movements are quick, to the point it almost seems to teleport before it shows up in front of the Crobat to give a surprise blast with FAKE OUT before Air Slash could even be used. “Think of the island!” his brother reminds him from the lines and all he could do is hope he didn’t get in trouble for it. But he was right, he had to deal with a lot more pain and still keep running if he wanted to live. So he uses the glitched time to put weight on his pain leg, grunting through the pain to get used to it for when he’d have to move. [break][break]

However he doesn’t let up as Raziel gives another whistle, he tries to point but his pokemon is looking at the battle not his trainer and of course thinks the Crobat. They’re not entirely sure which move the whistle was in comparison to before so for now it should send a SHADOW BALL in the Pokémon’s direction. Damn it, at this rate it was going to look like he hasn’t practiced at all.

[attr="class","beck"]the FAKE OUT surprises, catching crobat off guard. it reels in pain, annoyance, and ends up eatinb the SHADOW BALL that follows. it pulses against its purple skin, pushing it to the brink of exhaustion.

it rises in the air, bringing its wings down to send it upwards. when it's clear of the espurr's reach, it sends an AIR SLASH towards raziel.

The Air Slash is indeed getting predictable, and Raziel doesn’t know if it because its their only long distance move or if their trainer was taking it easy on him. Honestly he was pretty sure it was the former because Beckett seeming easy on anyone sounded wrong. Though while predictable with his leg how it is he’s barely fast enough to move out of the way of most of the blades that come at him. One ended up cutting his back knocking him down. He wants to give up now, but he knows its not allowed, he forces himself up despite the pain. ”Espurr![break][break]

He calls because he knows he won’t get the Pokémon’s attention otherwise, silent rule be damned, as he points at his teacher and gives a whistle. The cat seems hesitant about the order, still unsure of how it felt attacking a human, but the other pokemon was attacking his so maybe it should be learning from that. As the kitten’s eyes turn blue it uses PSYCHIC fires a light blue energy beam from them at the other human. The cat should’ve probably done more with the attack, but it’s hesitant as its doesn’t have a full grasp with attacking non-pokemon.

"when you attack trainers, you force their pokemon to react in a predictable manner. most often, they return to protect them. do you understand now, raziel?"

There is a wave of relief that washes down on him seeing the Crobat faint having been struck by the Psychic attack. The young boy worried as to whether that thing would ever go down. As his instructor lectures Razz moves his arm back to cover the Air Slash’s wound to try and stop it from stinging. The young man gives a nod in response, “Yes sir,” he makes sure to acknowledge as he’s been trained to do. Now he waits to be allowed to fall back in line. Back to where attention wasn’t fully on him, he just hopes that he was ‘silent’ enough to have passed Beckett’s lesson plan.

"stand still."

a hand reaches for a pokeball and out comes a bayleef. its presence immediately summons an AROMATHERAPY, and a HEAL PULSE follows. it begins to mend raziel's wounds, closing them to stop the bleeding.

Raziel can’t help but tense up at the sight of the Bayleaf. He knows the stories and the rumors, Beckett brought out Bayleaf for healing, more often than not healing injuries he also caused and he worried. Had he not done enough? Did he not take down the Crobat? But this isn’t the Labs where he had his father’s protection, this was real training for later and what was to come and be expected of him as he got older. Stay silent and obey, he looks down as his instructor towers over him and gives the order, Raziel bracing himself as a just in case. [break][break]

Though there is relief there when the Aromatherapy hits and the Heal Pulse takes place, the stinging in his leg and back now gone because of it. He signs a simple ‘thank you’ to not break the whole “don’t speak” rule. But he does stay in place as he hasn’t been given permission to leave just yet.
