Lex grinned, peering at Roach from behind a pair of dark sunglasses, “Hey there, stranger,” she purred, popping a hip out to rest a hand on. The Liepard that sat beside her rubbed against her bare leg. Lex was looking a little red from being in her bikini in the sun all day. The battling had kept her too busy to reapply sunscreen. Ah well, that was half of being at the beach.

“Nah, Aubie’s taking a break. You get Liepard here,” and thank goodness, Aubie would have probably made quick work of the little Cubone. She felt half bad putting it up against a fully evolved pokemon. Regardless, it would be a fun fight, “Alright, get out there,” she stroked the dark-type’s soft fur as he leapt forward, gentle steps bringing him out towards the Cubone. His large tail flicked curiously as the Cubone readied itself with Focus Energy.

The feline grinned, stalking down into battle position. He unsheathed his claws, letting them scrape gently against the sand to sharpen their tips (HONE CLAWS). It didn’t take long for the pokemon to grow impatient. Liepard leapt forward, sending a wave of sand flying behind him. He reached a paw out, swiping at the Cubone with a SCRATCH.

Lex meets Roach’s tease with a scowl. She knows she red, she can feel the burn sinking into her fair flesh. It had been a while since Killian Decker had reapplied it across her. She hums behind a wicked grin, she can’t help herself but tease him, “Are you offering to lather me up?” Lex bends over and reaches into the bag nearby. She extracts a bottle of sunscreen, tossing it casually in one hand as if taunting him. Killian would certainly not approve but there’s mild amount of fun in making him jealous. He’s cute when he is.

He’s seems disappointed Aubie won’t be making an appearance. She’d love Aubie to get some more battle experience, but this wasn’t the setting to do that in. Plus, his moveset is more geared towards her needs than that of battling.

Liepard is pleased when the SCRATCH lands, knocking the Cubone on its ass. The dark-type snickers, flicking his tail in delight. It’s a short-lived celebration. The small Cubone is quick to get up, even after the adorable little cry, and rushes towards the feline. Liepard cries out in surprise, but also pain, when the hard skull bashes against his legs.

He shakes it off with a low growl, leaning back into a pouncing position, before lunging forward to close the short distance again. This time, he aims to tackle the Cubone and PLAY ROUGH.

Lex mirrors him and glances around as well. She’ unsure where Killian is. If he is here watching, she would likely notice. Instead her shoulder shrug casually, “Probably off at his own battle,” he is participating in the tournament too. His comment make her laugh, hard, “Roach being a snitch?! I never thought I’d see the day,” her tone is playful, she obviously knows he’s joking.

Lex loses sight of the Liepard in the cloud of sand and dust that puffs up around them when they collide. It doesn’t take long for the Liepard to realize that his plan doesn’t work. Instead, the quick feline hops away and out of the cloud of dust.

Liepard pulls back its lips and flattens its ears. An angry hiss forces it’s way through his teeth. The feline lunges, swiping at air. Instead, a SHADOW CLAW that mimics its own appears and strikes at the Cubone.

The feline twitches its tail, watching expectantly and waiting for the Cubone to give up and stay down. It seems that the little pokemon has more fight in it than the Liepard was expecting. He frowns as it rushes and strikes its feet with another HEADBUTT. He stagger back from the force of the blow but retaliates quickly with a swipe of his sharp claws.

The bone thwacks the Liepard across the face, forcing his head to the side. It’s a slow, deep growl that rumbles through his throat as he slowly turns back towards the Cubone. Without warning the cat scream, lunging at the Cubone with another PLAY ROUGH filled with vicious swipes ad hisses.

It’s a mean PLAY ROUGH, and the Liepard is not merciful. He hops away when he’s content with the damage, ears still pinned back. His tail flicks in the air expectantly. Another growl warns the Cubone to stay down. He stands between the pokemon and its weapon.

A sharp whistle sounds and the Liepard reluctantly looks towards Lex. It’s a beat before the feline actually obeys and slowly trots over to the redhead’s side. A pokeball sucks the Liepard back into it’s sphere. She saunters over towards Roach with a smile and sunscreen in hand, “So, about my prize,” she grins, handing him the sunscreen.
