Zac drifted out into the flooded safari zone, paddling gently so as not to scare away the subjects of his documentary. His Tirtouga swam beside the kayak, capturing footage of the creatures below. "Life started in the ocean," Zac narrated into his waterproof mic, "and it has continued to evolve and iterate for hundreds of millions of years."

His kayak glided over the top of a school of Finneon and they scattered, taking refuge in holes in the coral. "So today we're exploring the gorgeous variety of creatures that make their homes under the waves."

"Whoa! Wadda we have here?" Zac asked rhetorically, as his Tirtouga swooped in for a closer look at the scuttling coastal critter. "These bay-dwelling bugs may look imposing, but they're as gentle as they come. Big, sad eyes, layered plates, and- oop! Off he goes!" Zac exclaimed, watching the Wimpod shoot off into deeper, safer, waters. "What a spritely little bugger!"

Zac noticed a splotch of darkness off the starboard side of his paddleboard. He pushed off the shallow bottom with his oar, floating closer to the cloud. "And what's in here?" he asked, curious.

Tirtouga finned through the blackness, and it dispersed somewhat, revealing a shocked and upside-down Inkay. "Oh hey buddy!" Zac said, waving at the little squid as it righted itself. "These little guys flip over to confuse and surprise enemies, then shoot them with ink and escape in the confusion." Zac chuckled, it was a pretty hilarious tactic.

Zac dropped a Safari Ball down on the little prankster, capturing it. "Let's see if we can't find what scared this little guy!"

"And there's the villain of the piece!" Zac said, pointing out a black-snouted Dratini that was trying to blend in among the seafoam. Thick ink was streaked down its nose and face, where it had obviously gotten a little too close to Inkay. "Come on mate, let me get you all sorted."

Zac pulled the Dratini into his canoe and rubbed at its snout with his Alolan shirt, soaking the fabric through with the viscous ink. Another shirt ruined in the effort of cleaning up the beach. The Dratini sneeze, almost falling back into the water, but Zac wrangled him with one big hand. "Careful there mate!" he said, laughing as the Dratini wobbled, unsteady on the slippery deck. "Not too used to life on a boat, ay?"

A school of Wishiwashi passed underneath, but Zac was preoccupied with cleaning up his new friend.

Just as Zac got his friend dry, an impact rocked the boat from underneath. He pulled Dratini in tight, and the banging came again. It was rhythmic. One-two! One-two! Bang-bang!

Zac let go of Dratini, motioning for it to stay low, and he dunked his head under the water. There, standing on its tippy-tentacles on the sandy bottom, was a Clobbapus, and the little menacing was doing its darndest to punch a hole in the bottom of Zac's canoe! Frowning, Zac reached for one of his Safarin balls, and held it out. The little lunger noticed him and took a swing, hitting the ball and disappearing inside.

Back in the boat again, three balls full and stomach growling, Zac was almost ready to go home. "What do you think? Time for some grub?" Zac asked Dratini and Clobbopus. Dratini nodded in agreement, and Clobbopuss punched the boat, cracking one of the seats. Zac winced, and resolved not to ask any more questions.

He paddled the boat around, heading back to shore, but a low, hungry cry rippled through the water. "That can't be good." Zac said. Clobbopuss punched in agreement. Zac paddled faster, nearing the sandy shore, but the call came again, and a huge, hungry sphere surfaced beside him! His boat tipped and bobbed, and Zac fought to stay upright. It was a Wailmer! Big and beautiful, and evidently sick of krill. "Well hey there big fella! You're not scary, are ya? Wanna come with us and grab some- OW!" Zac shouted as Clobbopuss punched him hard in the shin. Wilmer let out a long, hungry cry. It was time for lunch.
