Fallarbor Town already had to deal with a ton of ash and soot regularly from the mountain, falling at a near-constant rate. With the activity, it certainly didn't get any better. Taking a deep breath, Ruby finally pulled the bandana up around her face and the goggles around her eyes before pushing out into the street. [break][break]

Her destination was the Pokecenter as it was kind of overrun. The soot wasn't the worst issue for the town, after all, it was what gave the land it's signature fertile farmlands. However, it was the wild pokemon attempting to escape from Mt. Chimney that caused most of the ruckus. [break][break]

Stepping into the center, she quickly brushed off as much soot as she could from her clothes and her hair, shaking herself for a second before pulling the bandana down. Quickly sending out Grace, the blue Gardevoir stretched where she stood.[break][break]

"Come on dear, let's get to work."

only with ellie's assistance does greyson find the energy to continue on. where others dispersed to their corners of the region to rest, report, or otherwise recuperate, greyson finds himself in the bowels of fallarbor town.

despite the insistence of illeana reyes , greyson's stubborn ways win the day. bidding her and Stormy Silph good-bye, he does his best to assist the ailing town. wild-pokemon and the fear created by the chaos of a near-eruption leave little in the way of peace. turning upwards from treating a wounded pokemon, he spots a familiar tinge of pink hair.

"uhm, excuse me. you were up on the mountain earlier, right? helping to... well, i guess, pacify groudon."

a bandaged hand pats his hair awkwardly, too tired to even shuffle his feet. turns out falling unconscious really did a number on his system.

It wasn't a surprise, her hair alone made her fairly recognizable, but it was certainly a welcome sight to see someone else actually trying their best to help too. She wasn't all alone out here on this. With a soft sigh, Ruby gently patted Grace's back as the Gardevoir instinctively took it as a sign to get to work. [break][break]

As the Gardevoir slipped away from her side, intending to heal a few Pokemon while she was busy conversing, Ruby began to speak. "Yeah, I was." She wasn't too terribly injured herself, though she did find her own eyes quickly glancing the stranger up and down. His bandaged hand alone betrayed that he was at least somewhat injured.[break][break]

"And, yes I have." She would have reached a hand to shake, but that probably wasn't a good idea right now. Instead, she'd give him a gentle smile as she continued to brush off the soot from her clothes. "The name is Ruby, me and Grace can handle things for a bit if you need to rest. She's an expert at this."

her appraisal of him doesn't escape notice, despite the weariness held in, and around his eyes. no doubt the man looked like a mess; covered in soot, injured, and a reddening sclera. a warm smile is returned, echoing hers, though it's dropped quickly. it was difficult to remain optimistic after the events of the past two days.

"ruby, it's a pleasure to meet you. i'm greyson."

her offer is a life raft, one that he looks at tantalizingly. but, it wasn't something he could take; not yet.

"i appreciate the offer, but i'm fine."

a thankful smile turns onto the gardevoir, for a moment, before his attention again shifts onto ruby.

"i have a number of my pokemon healing some of the wounded already, but between human and pokemon alike, we're kind of overrun here. any assistance you could provide would put me in your debt."

around the room a number of nurses, and volunteers triage the incoming wounded. between the large earthquakes, explosions of multiple PRECIPICE BLADES and the displacement of dozens of terrified, wild pokemon, their hands were certainly full. ethereal flowers, hued in bright colors, parade around the room as multiple comfeys work to apply their FLORAL HEALING.

his gaze falls onto her again, waiting for an answer he felt he already knew was coming.

Despite his dismissal, he clearly needed some kind of medical attention. He looked so tired, who knew what kind of issues he was putting aside solely for the sake of others? It... was honestly kind of like looking into a mirror, especially with that warm smile despite everything. They were really more alike than it seemed. [break][break]

Ruby cleared her throat, eyes drifting to watch his Pokemon floating around the room to heal before looking back at him. "... Alright. Yeah, arguing with you won't do any good, huh? I know what it's like." She'd nod her head as she spoke, smiling softly back up at him.[break][break]

Sure enough, she had a plan regardless of what he said, something that could easily pass off as a normal action in this scenario. Looking at Grace, the Gardevoir had simply been personally examining a local pokemon. "It's too slow to go one by one, let the Comfeys do that, dear. Float up, will you? You know what to do." [break][break]

Sure enough, the Gardevoir was incredibly accustomed to this routine by this point. Slowly taking steps up into the air like she was on an invisible staircase, Grace would float as high as the ceiling would allow her to, before beginning to twirl as she summoned healing drops of Life Dew that spread all across the Pokecenter, floating towards the injured and healing those it touched. Notably, including Greyson and any other humans in the room as well.

a laugh, quick and easy-going, but filled with the lingering exhaustion he felt in his bones.

with his many comfeys working on the most critical of patients, that left little room to assist the area as a whole. so, with dim eyes, he watches the gardevoir take its silent steps closer, and closer to the ceiling.

the LIFE DEW spreads as a gentle mist, and greyson tilts his head-upwards to catch it as it seeps into his skin. eyes close, and for a moment, he feels at ease.

he gives the woman a kind smile.

Stubborn or not, Ruby had ways of skirting around that. Sure enough, she watched with wide eyes as the gentle healing mist spread across Greyson. She wasn't expecting the thanks, not knowing just how stubborn the man truly was. Regardless as he spoke and even gave her a smile, Ruby simply nodded her head with a soft teasing smile of her own. "Told you, we're an expert at this."[break][break]

Ruby would let her attention drift around the room for a moment, watching the healing dew work its magic. Of course, Grace continued with her dance as she floated in the air. It was almost like a ballerina, incredibly graceful true to her namesake as she continued to spin. Sure enough, another bout of Life Dew would form, filling the room once more. [break][break]

Reaching into her backpack, Ruby pulled out her medicine bag, opening it up. Filled with a mix of potions, antidotes, and other similar bottles paired with a few pouches of herbal medicine, Ruby clearly took her supplies quite seriously. Turning her attention back towards the Greyson, she would gently nod as she held up her bag.[break][break]

"The, uh, herbal stuff can be a bit bitter, but I find it works out just as well and is pretty good for burns. If you're still insistent about not taking a break, you can use some of my supplies then. I don't carry a ton for it not to be used, you know."
