Traces of a forgotten god, fragments of its existence or trails that it has left in its wrathful wake. Power beyond her wildest imagination, a promise that has yet to be kept. The courage to stand up to those who possess strength and the ability to save those who she can reach.

Perhaps, it's the words bared upon her by an imprisoned Melody Miro. Or the helplessness she's felt in facing an actual deity for the first time. The fall of Sootopolis has opened old wounds, faces of trapped civilians haunting her memories. And it doesn't help that Raziel Beckett had to be caught in the crossfire.

Futile. Meaningless. The actions of a small fry means nothing in shark-infested waters. There is no worth to find in a heart that falters, no strength behind this cowardly facade of grins and laughter. Young, immature - Those labels that she's denied for so long carry weight upon this burdened mind. What good are promises to help when she possesses nothing to begin with?

And yet, that smile remains pristine and intact, an expression so easily replicated as she turns her attention to her partner in crime. mint frost is pleasant company for sure, helping to chase the thoughts away with his light-hearted antics. But how long will she be able to keep this show going?

Up ahead, Azzy continues to Dig at solid ground, as if drawn in by a link with the earth itself. Eris knows that there must be something special about this location - Even if Groudon's orb has been shattered and cast to the past, their fragments must still exist somewhere in this time. That odd pokemon that had snatched a piece for itself... what had it done? What was that reaction that had occurred? A surge of primal energy? Where had Groudon gone after they'd all been returned to the present?

Was it still somewhere in Mt Chimney?

She needs answers. She needs something to answer the promises made in the past. She needs a hope to cling onto when chasing power to stand up against those she loves.

Or maybe, she's simply seeking after the dream of being unafraid and truly unhindered, with absolute power creating the path she wishes to take.

It’s strange and perhaps a testament to his shunted childhood, but the kinship he finds with the younger girl is surprising. Despite being almost a decade apart they got along rather well on the surface. At the very least, the pair were equally cheery and equally enthusiastic for something as boring as a trip back to the site Groudon had nearly wiped Hoenn from. He didn’t recall seeing Eris at the battle at the top of the volcano, but all things considered it was lucky any of them made it out. He hadn’t expected much help form Rocket. After all, who would want to go back to the mountain that almost deep fried some of them? [break][break]

“Definitely rare stuff.” Mint asserted as they began taking the trails up Mt. Chimney. It’s a little more peaceful despite scars on the mountain from the cooled lava flows. Black molten rock, now cold and dry snaked through the bit of foliage the mountain had. There’s a light coating of ash over it all from after the eruption had settled. Even where lava hadn’t touched, fire’s from it scorched parts of the rock and earth. “Volcano eruptions can bring about a lot of cool rocks after lava flows chill out.” However, just in case they were to find any fires or superheated lava, Gelato was at his side ready to Ice Beam anything. Though he said that, his eyes are on the Heatran curious to how a small child could’ve acquired it. Then again, he’d seen a lot of weird things during the raid. [break][break]

“Locals mentioned the tremors mostly calmed down, so I don’t think we’ll see that angry pink thing anytime soon.” If he remembered correctly, it was the only thing that picked up the fragments and it’d imbued it with so much energy. “I wonder, you know, if it’s dead actually. Spewing that much weird energy can’t be good for it.” He added as they continued their trek, following along Azzy as it worked through stone and earth.

"As far as I've understood the situation, the volcanic eruption had to have occurred in the past. The environment's been vastly changed and the towns nearby haven't been evacuated due to any traces of volcanic ash. Lava itself takes months or even years to cool beneath the initial layer of crust, so the fact that Azzy hasn't dug into any mushy stuff yet probably means we're in a different time period."

But of course, that's merely a load of explanation to reach one conclusion.

"If people in the past were smart enough, this place could have lost most of its valuable resources already."

Could the same be said of the shards of crimson orb?

"Siobhan mentioned that the pink pokemon was spotted at the draconic village too, the one at Meteor Falls. I've been there once..." It was an interesting adventure for sure, and she wonders if she's annoyed the hell out of Remiel Calcifet... Well, anything for the sake of furthering her research! "It's either the same one via time hijinks or a different one... but it doesn't feel like a pokemon that's easy to create, even by Arceus' standards. Firing off those lasers repeatedly, having enough power to injure Groudon. I don't know? I kinda wanna go back to the village when I have the chance."

There's a lot of questions that linger in her mind and she's struggling to find even a single clue that can solidify her starting point. Azzy comes up short when talking about results, her dig sites far too shallow to find anything of substance just yet. Moving over to the Heatran, Eris kneels to look into the hole she's dug, a reach into her pocket producing a rather odd object - A silvery blob, almost wrapped around what looks to be a marble.

"I don't think you're ready to mega evolve just yet, Mercury."

Two pieces to a puzzle that's drawn her in all that while back, a fragment of the Melmetal that had lost it on the Cycling Roads and a mega stone that seems to have found no use as of yet, only served as a reminder of the effects of Primal Energy on the kin of this silvery blob. The only reason why she's brought it today is because of the words giona ferrara said - 'What I do know is you can contain it in a bracelet or a ring befitting a Mega Stone'... Curiosity beckons her to explore this possibility even if there's nothing that will arise from it.

The Meltan squeaks and tries to fold its arms in contempt but its quickly drawn in by the sounds of digging, its eye shining as it looks to Eris for confirmation.

Mint’s happy grin deflated as Eris went through her explanation and he bent over letting out a long sigh. “Uuuughhhh…..no way. Obsidian is semi precious...I think. There’s no way people wouldn’t have picked it up or mined it by now.” Mint said dejectedly. So much for collecting those really cool volcanic minerals. Guess this would be a harder geology lesson to track down than he thought. “Mmm really? What’s the deal with the Draconic Village, Eris?” there’s a small pause before he nodded over at her. “I’ll go with you if you want. But first, this.” he gestured at the Heatran working through old magma. [break][break]

He let out a little laugh at Meltan's antics. “That guy’s cute.” he said before adding, “I’m not sure how geologists go about it, but I kind of wish we had some way to sense what's under. Like a metal detector but for stuff other than coins at the beach.” he added. He idly followed Azzy, watching the pokemon work before looking back at Eris. “That pink thing and the eruption are in the past right so...maybe there’s mentions of that pink thing online.” he said as he pulled out his phone. [break][break]

“I’m just pulling at straws sorry. I don’t think anyone on my team can really help dig through this mountain.” Maybe that Aggron he acquired recently, but he wasn’t al lthat sure. Azzy was way bigger than her.

"Have some faith! The market for obsidian wasn't really considered a thing in the past, so who knows what we'll find?" If all things bad are to fill their minds and stop them from proceeding onwards, then they'll never been able to scrape away the layers of noise to get to the truth. "The Draconid people worshipped beings with Primal Energy, or so I was told. That would point to the legends of Groudon and Kyogre who devastated the region a long time ago. Siobhan also mentioned that the weird creature we saw that day was also there at some point. So I figured it might be worth exploring..."

"Thing is, I was hoping to see if Mercury would react to anything here." The little Meltan coos softly at her words, swaying from side to side as it blinks at Mint. "You see, I kinda picked him up by sheer chance. He and his companions all melted together into a giant Melmetal and I think it then further mega-evolved due to the Primal Energy present." The mega stone floats up through the air and falls down straight back into her open palm, over and over without a single misstep.

"If none of those red shards are here, I'd guess that the Draconid people might have found them and brought them together somewhere else for safekeeping..."

But where? That would be the question they'd have to crack.

"Azzy... I picked her up by chance while she was resurfacing around these parts, so I figured she'd be most in tune with what's going on around here." Pausing for a brief moment, she'd sneak a peek at Mint's phone, hoping to see what he found. On the other hand, Mercury would successfully beg for ownership of the mega stone, chirping happily as he bounds over to join the Heatran in her little hole.

“Really?! For some reason I just thought maybe the obsidian spear tips would’ve given people a reason to scrounge for it.” He explained, perking up immediately at the younger girl’s reassurance. He nodded as she began to explain more. “Is that what made the pink thing go ballistic? And Groudon upset?” He was thinking out loud for the most part, but it felt plausible now that they were trying to smash all these different pieces together. “You never know, could be~” he continued. He smiled at the Meltan, a funny little creature, before eyeing the megastone. “Curious little things those two are.” He noted. “Maybe you should’ve put Mercury near Giona before the meeting ended. Didn’t that one woman mention…checking blood for traces of…stuff?” Energy traces, Mint. [break][break]

“If you wanted to safekeep your piece of divinity from on high, you’d lock it away. Especially if just touching a piece of it imbued you with that much energy like with Gumball over there.” He said, nodding at the top of Mt Chimney as he nicknamed the pink demon that had attacked that day. “It’s gotta be locked away somewhere important. The only place I can think of is bellow though but maybe…we aren’t going deep enough?” After all, giona ferrara had disappeared somewhere during the Groudon incident and popped out with superpowers. He should’ve paid more attention when the guy explained it to the group. [break][break]

When he noticed Eris looking, he crouched down and held the screen between them so she could see what he was doing. “Most searches bring up my stream, but…some of these mention possible sighting in Galar too? Not very specific since…there could be more than one of those things.” He replayed, eyes skimming through page after page. “Azzy…well she’s the best lead we have. Lucky I planned for at least being here a few days.” He said with a shrug. A careful search of the volcano would require time, and he’d taken a bit off accordingly.

CURIOUSLY ENOUGH, there are no signs of the shards of the RED ORB that was destroyed during the events of DESOLATE LAND. The ones that were embedded in the PRECIPICE BLADE PILLARS, unbeknownst to most, were "consumed" upon detonation. Like catalysts of some primal fuel, they were burned. Exhausted.

As Eris and Mint traverse across Mt. Chimney, they would find the PRIMAL ENERGY NODES Amor Rose has set up with Eva Morales, @jess and Zac Ramsay's assistance. They are small devices buried underground in order to detect spikes in primal energy. Heatran unearths one or two— and such disturbances may cause their efficacy to falter. Such a physical hinderance would be detectable by anyone monitoring these nodes: most likely Amor Rose, himself.

Curiously enough, although one may assume these shards may be discoverable within the mountain's sediments and layers due to the orb's explosion in the "past"... they are no where to be found. Perhaps, these shards are not and were not in the past at all...

A low grumble and a series of high-pitched chirps draws her attention back to the hole, the two diggers resurfacing and bringing a good with them. It falls on the ground with a metallic thunk, earning them a questioning look from an emerging Reiner who walks over to prod at it.

"I'll hafta hit the library for Galarian books later but what do you think this is?" Clenching her fist, Eris does what just about any curious child would do and knocks her knuckles against the surface. "It's definitely man-made... Dya think it's tracking something?"

“Ohh cool. The most I know about legendaries is uh…if they left enough of an impact on people to make art of them. And even then, it’s mostly an artist’s depiction and rarely the stories behind them.” He shrugged. His art history was rusty, but he knew enough that he could take a quick trip to the library and pull out pertinent info for her. IF she ever needed it. Now, did he remember most of the names of the legends he’d studied? Absolutely not. But did he remember the artists or the cultures that’d made said art? Yes. [break][break]

He blinked back at Eris before letting out a rowdy laugh at her. “YOU WEREN’T EXPLAINIGN A HWOLE LOT AT THE MEETIGN I DUNNO!!!
