"Client's 'ere!" Doug said cheerily as he leaned over the counter, grinning. "What's it gonna be, Sirette?"

The obvious, of course. For whatever reason, the Eevee Latte and Scorbunny Sandwich had been terribly popular all day!

"It's a number one, y'all!" Doug cried over his shoulder into the kitchen, before dragging his gaze over to Hideo Kino and Andy Blackadder, winking at them. "How 'bout you two guide our customer over to their seat?"

As he said this, the Charmeleon and Polywag behind the counter got to work, the sweet scent of coffee being made rising in the air.

In the back, his Accelgor stood at attention, awaiting command from their Chef de cuisine, Cardamom Bliss.

“On it!” Hideo gracefully glided towards the customer, before turning towards the seats. “If you’d follow us~” he said, his Gardevoir following close behind. It was only due to her Telepathy that he didn’t have to feel around to make sure he didn’t bump into any furniture or patrons, and could find the right spot for the new arrival to sit.

“Right here, sirette~” he halfway sang, motioning to the empty table. Right as his hand reached the chair, his Gardevoir pulled it back with her shadow, pushing it back in once the customer was ready to be seated. “Now, what would you like for a drink?” Hideo hadn’t taken out a pen or paper to write down the request - his Gardevoir was more than capable of relaying it to the kitchen, where a number of his Pokemon were ready to work on the order.

Was it a good idea to have a giant monkey help with preparing food?

Weren’t there child labour laws preventing minors from working like this?

Who cares! As long as the food is good, anything goes! And Hideo looked adorable in that waiter outfit, so who was going to complain?

Looking up from his kitchen work, a glance was shot back over his shoulder to Hideo Kino 's zarude. He was going to have to ask the other boy how he had tamed one of those infernal monkeys. The tea cup floating by his head made a cooing noise to remind him of his task. Head swiveling back around, his eyes narrowed in a momentary glare.

''Slave driver.'' The sinistea stuck out his mystery ghost liquid tongue at his trainer. Meanwhile Antique tugged at the leg of his slacks. ''What?'' Dressed just as dapper as the rest of the crew where his casts allowed, his suspenders were joined by the straps of an apron, as he sat the food items on the plate.

While not a world class chef, there were other things he could do. Having dined in so many upscale eateries, Andy knew what made a dish look good. Heavens knew he had complained about enough that didn't (even if they did). Placement and presentation was a big deal to the right customer, and even anyone else wasn't going to complain about a dish that radiated lavishness.

Cardamom's Pokemon were mostly here to assist with the delivery, not the cooking. Still, the teen was in quite a tizzy as he rushed to manage everything, instructing the various Pokemon on how to utilize their techniques for cooking instead of battle. They'd need to restrain themselves, after all, so as not to destroy the ingredients and make them unsuitable to look at. Still, he had a smile on his face as he handled things.[break][break]
"Looking good!" he called as the Pokemon all finished up. "Time to send it out to our customers!" He clapped his hands, summoning Half-Moon, who bowed to take the plates delicately in her own claws.

Just as the order for their newest client was completed, another client took Hideo’s attention. This one seemed to want to get a dessert...and a salad at the same time. Weird request, but Hideo wasn’t going to argue with it. “We’ll get it ready right away!” Hideo said, offering a smile.

“Dancer, let them know we need a Swablu Shaved Ice and an Eiscue Caprese Salad for table eight.” His Pokemon nodded, sending the message to the kitchen in back, which thankfully seemed to be managing to keep things under control despite all the cooks in the kitchen.

He’d just have to hope his Froslass wouldn’t make too much of a mess. Her Powder Snow had a habit of getting everywhere...

It seemed like as soon as the order went out the door another one came in. Sinistea hoverered by the practical ingredients. In some section of his mind, off to the side, Andy thought it would be neat if the mystery liquid inside the cup would illustrate what was being requested within his interior, kind of like Remi's did.

Cardamom nodded as the various moves were called out, watching as the Pokemon started using their techniques to create and gather the ice. He stepped in on occasion to tell them when to stop, watching the dish carefully to make sure it was presented perfectly. As the main body of the dish was built up, he started grabbing the extra decorations as well, carefully arranging them to give the dish the proper look based on the menu picture. Sure, there was no way they'd match it perfectly, but it was a point of pride for the Bliss child to get as close as he could.

Back in the kitchen, Doug's pokemon followed Cardamom Bliss' command to the letter, ice beams, leafages and sharpens being thoughtfully applied for efficient cooking.

For his part, Doug chattered with the clientele cheerfully, leaned casually over the counter before glancing down at his clock. He wondered when Arashi Akiyama would make it; theirs was the closing shift, so the boy needed to get there soon if he wanted to taste test!

Their Pokemons’ combined efforts were enough to fulfill the order, Hideo’s Froslass personally coming out to deliver it to the awaiting customer.

But just as one order was complete, another one came in, this time asking for a Sneasel Burger and some Alcremie Cupcakes. At least this order made more sense, coming from a couple sharing a table, though it did bring to question why their dinner desires were so different.

Nonetheless, his Gardevoir would send the order to the kitchen as Hideo found himself the victim of many hair-ruffles, something he just couldn’t avoid whenever he did stuff like this. In the kitchen, his Pokemon were hard at work, his Alcremie Decorating the cupcakes as his Slurpuff lightly spread sprinkles via a Fairy Wind.

Meanwhile, his Xatu was quick to gather ingredients for the Sneasel Burger, organizing them for the others to use. He was sure to keep on top of this stuff, courtesy of being an Early Bird.

Cardamom took a look at the orders, before sticking his head out the kitchen door. "Red Velvet, you're up!" he called. In a flash of smoke, one of the diners at the counter was replaced by a tiny Zorua, who skipped towards the kitchen. Cardamom scooped her up, wiping down her paws and muzzle with a wet wipe and slicking down some of her fur to prevent it from getting everywhere.[break][break]
"We need your help for this burger," he explained, pointing at the prepared ingredients. "Cut them as sharply as you can, okay?" With a happy yip, the Zorua started rubbing her paws together, using her Hone Claws technique to get her claws to the proper sharpness before diving forwards to slice the ingredients up with a Fury Swipes.

Looking at the message sitting in his PokéGear, he wondered what the rest of them were up to.

All it said was ‘come down to the Night Market’, and so that was what Arashi was exactly going to do.

Thankfully he knew the streets of Slateport better than most did, having lived in and on there most of his time in the region until he’d made a run for it and was now trying to make a living as an honest… well, kid.

Not-so-kid by next month, but who the hell cared?

Seeing so many colorful stalls, he had to resist the urge to snatch someone’s wallet as he passed by—there were so many people coming and going, and then he heard the familiar shouting.

Ah, there they were.

“Hey, ‘sup,” he began as he finally managed to squeeze himself onto an empty seat. “So this is what you’ve been up to eh?” he waved in greeting.

“Gimme some’a that good grub!” he continued, fishing around in his pockets and pulling out a few bills. Some of those part-time jobs were…lucrative, to say the least.

In the kitchen, Akua the Illumise assisted Hideo Kino's pokemon with the decorations of the cupcakes by offering a helping hand, her keen eye for aesthetics and asymmetrical design surely assisting in making the presentation top notch.

Meanwhile, one of the latest additions to Doug's Kanto squad, an as of yet unnamed Charmeleon, blew a steady stream of relatively weak flames over the patties of the burgers, making sure to cook 'em to medium rare perfection before swiping them to the assembling side of the kitchen with its tail.

ORDER #3, READY!

"Order ready!" Called Doug just as Arashi Akiyama walked into their fine establishment to a round of applause from the audience. "There ya are, mate! 'bout time ya got here-!"

The youth slapped a wet towel atop the counter and cleaned up the space before him before reaching over the wooden surface to slap an empty stool, grinning.

"'Course 'tis what we been up to! Have you seen Branes? Would be criminal not to help!" He said with a laugh, before calling over his shoulder. "One good grub, comin' right up! Hey y'all! Get some Pizza into the oven! Arashi's here! Get him something good to drink, too!"

He would trust Chef Cardamom Bliss' brilliance in choosing a good drink for their golden haired friend. For now...

"Oi, Andy!" He called out to Andy Blackadder, "Can ya get the burger to table 2 and the cupcakes to table 5? Thanks mate!"

In the midst of shouted commands and pokemon compliance, sizzling and sauteing, a familiar voice called out. Andy peered out from the food prep area to see a familiar blond. It was odd how even in the midst of such a public event like this, the boy was surprised to see folks he knew just wandering by. Was he popular now?

''If you got some dough plant your ass in a seat, Arashi. If not bugger off. We don't serve bums.'' Of course he assumed that the older boy knew it was in jest. And as jests went, he thought Doug must have been joking with his demand, given his injured status. Alas, it didn't seem so. Looking around the kitchen, he found a cart to place the meals upon.

Using only one crutch for his bad leg, and his casted arm to gently push, Andy wheeled the food out to their respective destinations. A blush couldn't be kept from his face as he felt a little self conscious about hobbling through the customer's to provide their meals. This was no work for rich kids. As he reached Arashi's table, he fumbled the dish, but managed to not drop it.

Even with the hustle and bustle of making sure every customer had their needs met and his lack of sight, Hideo didn’t miss Arashi Akiyama ’s arrival. “Hey Arashi!” Hideo said, though it seemed that Andy got to him first.

As much as Hideo wanted to chat it up with Arashi, he’d just received another order. “Dancer, let them know table three wants a Cheesy Rowlet Pizza and a Teddiursa Ice Coffee.” First reasonable order they’d received in a while, all things considered, but the were gonna need quite a bit of work to make them.

His Rhyperior was already getting to work in the kitchen, Bulldoz(e)ing the pizza dough until it was the perfect texture. His Clefable went to work on the Ice Coffee, providing some Moonlight to help get the mood just right to make the ice coffee.
