A new chapter begins.

Selena's comeback has been motivated by a certain Ana Stone who entrepreneured rotomTV and brought mass media a whole new experience to the world's present generation. This is the perfect opportunity for Vantage, a queendom long forgotten in the annals of Hoennian history after the recent events that also destroyed its monarch's career. With rotomTV's pursuit of expansion, Selena understands this is the second chance Vantage is looking for—to actually have people behind who believes in its ideals of truth and justice.

And so upon learning that Ana will come to Lilycove, it did not take her long to know what she will do next.

“You know, professional writers can make even a dull magikarp seem very intriguing.”

Selena's voice is assertive—albeit a pitch shy—but still the words travel to try and pull her gaze to her. Ana probably doesn't know her but the Kalosian is going to make sure that she won't forget about her after this meeting.

“That's what rotomTV needs with its documentaries and I think I can help you with that.”

She extends her hand, flashes a grin, and rolls with her plan to build back her lost queendom.

“My name is Selena Desmarais.”

Selena breaks her confident facade and gives off a very confused look. Oh, so she does know me, a thought inside her head.

“Ah... I'm yours for the day, if that's what you want!”

In her voice, there is bliss, excitement, and paranoia. Apart from the fact that Ana Stone knows her, it's as if there is something she wants to tell her as well.

“I can give you a tour! I lived here for a year... well, until four months ago. But I'm back!”

The Lilycovean Kalosian leads the way through the cobblestone streets of the city.

“Lilycove is the final stretch of the mainland before it reaches the sea and the Hoennian islands.” Rotom hovers beside her, presenting a tour outline that she has undoubtedly overrehearsed already.

“Lilycove is known for its contests but I doubt it's the only thing that comes to mind for the city's residents. In the past few months, it had been League's warfront against Megalopolans. We made a memorial to honor the courage and bravery of all the war heroes.”

She nods towards the hill marked by carved marble statues of pokemons and trainers that helped "restore peace" in the region. But then Selena stops walking, taking a few seconds before she realizes something.

“Oh, ah, um... I'm sorry.”

Lilycove was the place where ALEXANDER STONE died.

The lines are delivered nonchalantly, but she tries to avert her gaze towards the layered cobblestones that finally lead them to the cafe in question.

“I served the war because that was my duty as Lilycove's gym leader back then.”

Now, she finally glues her eyes toward the fellow white-hair lady, flashes a awkward grin and hopeful demeanor.

“You see, this was my home too before everything was taken away from me.” Not literally, but Ana doesn't need to know the specifics. At least, not yet. “And I am sad to have not done my best to at least save all those war heroes' lives, being an ex-avatar. But I still think there are a lot more souls that we can still save.”

And then she holds her hands with both of hers.

“I think both our passion can save Hoenn.”

The gardevoir budges the cafe's Kalosian doors with its psychic power, both Calliope and Lares leading the way for their trainer and her company. She offers Ana to take the couch next to her, relaxing on the table overseeing the counter where the barista scurries an order as soon as he sees Selena enter the building.

Upon resting, Lares lays down the table and projects a holographic scene presenting Vantage's portfolio over the last few months.

“Let me start with my proposal first. What I'm showing you is the product of all my hard work since college: Vantage.”

The screen blinks to show a number of articles written over the past few months, with quite a handful of notable news including Kaida Adachi's interview, the Megalopolan War coverage, and even the burning of the Church of Arceus.

“It has a lot of potential especially with staff so passionate for this kind of journalistic pursuit—people who stand for justice and truth. But these people will be left jobless if I don't make this choice.”

The screen turns black, and then it again flashes to display the Vantage logo, side-by-side with rotomTV's.

“I think Vantage has an untapped potential in a platform where no other news outlet yet to dominate: in streamed media. And I think Vantage has already a niche when it comes to the local flavor that your company might be looking for.”

“Ah, I... even as a journalist, to be honest, I don't know what to say.”

Selena could swear what she is hearing are wedding bells, if they are not echoes of chimeco's cries. It is one thing for someone to believe in your passion; it is also another when they want to believe in you. But the Kalosian is always skeptical with new relationships and she is always the first one to probe on the 'buts'.

“I am so glad you liked it. I wouldn't have it any other way! But...”

She looks straight into the gardevoir's eyes for reassurance, and Calliope only nods at her, telling her to say it.

“With all the things they accused me before, I just want to know that you know who you're dealing with because the last thing I want is for someone to feel I betrayed them and to lose someone in the process.”

Selena holds Ana's hands as a reassurance then takes them back out of coyness.

“I don't feel anything about the incident; I only care for my job and the mandate I took a pledge on.”

Her fingers dance onto Lares's surface, propelling the rotom back up, hovering around her and then to her side.

“In our case, it is our values and penchant for veracity that we are best known for. I assure you Vantage won't be a bad investment.”

Selena straightens up, faces Ana with arm extending forward.

“So, this is a deal then?”
