It is without a doubt that this part of the region are already dangerous waters. These are only rumors from Mossdeep folks but they cautioned people surfing the route that Rocket scouts could be guarding the area as well. But given the circumstances that the Kalosian has already faced, even without the protection of a legendary, it is not a stupid mistake to have made it this far with Medusa buyu her side.

Tara is aware how dangerous this place was but because of that reason why she visit the place. As a policewoman, albeit she is still a cadet, she wants to know how dangerous the place was with her own eyes rather than from the news. Sometimes words can't express how dangerous a place is and different people would assess the dangerous level differently depending on the resources they have at that time. With that said, she comes here ready with her two best friends with her.

Suddenly a voice calls out to her, a beautiful white-haired lady that for a moment made her blank out due to appreciating her beauty. Then Tara starts to realize who she is, the reporter/ gym leader - Selena Desmarais. Tara often read about her from the paper and she remembers that she often admires her beauty whenever she sees her photo. Tara can't believe she is meeting her right nowhere.

Oh wait no, she is asking a question... Don't wanna be rude on her

"I am with the police, Tara Arnnelia. I am here trying to assess the situation after the incident with my own eyes." Tara states her reason to be there with a salute out of habit that she ingrained before she becomes the police. "May I ask you for some assistance, miss Selena?"

While she was introducing herself to the renowned Journalist, two wild pokemon start to approach them; A seel and a venonat. Tara doesn't really care about the latter but her eyes definitely goes straight to the former and start to gush out how cute that pokemon is. "Aw... Seelie~ You are so cute, do you want to be my friend?" Tara crouch calling for the seel to approach her closely while she directly gives her a name despite she hasn't caught her yet.

The seel look confused and alarmed but no sign of its attacking, there is still a hint of curious look on her face. Tara decides to slowly crouch walking to the pokemon and gently rub the top of her head. "Do you want to be my pokemon? I will treat you well, I will give you all the food and pampering you want~" Tara keep talking to the seel trying to befriend it.

To her surprise, the seel suddenly jump and headbutt her stomach which makes her gasp for air. "Wait don't go!" Tara is shouting when the seel is trying to make a distance between them. She recovers quickly and rush at her... She is no stranger to get headbutt since Chomper loves to headbutt her in the past while playing. When she looks at the seel once again, she finally realized that the seel is scared

"It is okay, I know it can be scary when you encounter people. But, I will not do any harm on you. I just want to be your friend" Tara tries to assure the seal. She dig something out from her pocket and reveal some biscuits. The seel's nose moves and with a hesitation it starts to get closer to her.

Will she be succesfully on inviting the seel to be her pokemon?

How the lady manages to recognize her is beyond Selena already but at least all tention settles upon knowing that the redhead is part of the authority.

“Good day, Tara.”

She responds smiling. Lares tries to get an image of the stranger but fails to be subtle. As a seel approaches them, she lets Tara muse by herself while milotic tries to wave off a venonat with a wave of ice (BLIZZARD).

“Sure, what do you need?”

Selena does not mention about her intentions of scouting the area; she doubts it is something interesting for the policewoman.

Tara stands up, ruffling her bright red hair trying to think about something. Before she can think of something another batch of wild pokemon appears once again and now it is a shelder and starmie. "Give me a minute, I will scare the shelder away for now" Tara said to Selena as she throw her pokeball and calls out Chomper the Garchomp. "Chomper, dragon rush!" Tara order as Chomper rush toward the shelder and crash into her making the shelder flies away.

"I don't really need anything right at the moment. I just want to see the pokemon around for now and if the recent event makes the number of the pokemon arise, I need a hand to break out from a possible surrounded situation" Tara explains as she scratching the chin of chomper while smiling.

Seeing the redhead is not completely helpless at all, Selena decides to focus on the starmie floating nonchalantly on the water. It poses not much of a threat until it decides to RAPID SPIN and create a massive whirlwind that almost throw the Kalosian off.

“Medusa, freeze the water and don't let that starmie escape!”

The milotic hurls another blanket of BLIZZARD, glaciating its surrounds and imprisoning the starfish in a block of ice before Selena decides to throw a pokeball against the creature. As soon as they are done, the waters has also calmed down.

“Reports say after the Rockets broke in, there is no sign of anomaly so I assume on a surface level everything is fine. But I appreciate you still coming here to investigate.”

MILOTIC uses BLIZZARD.

"Just doing my job" Tara says casually but suddenly another wild pokemon comes around. At the beginning it is okay but it is starting to made her feel iffy. Thankfully, both of the pokemon looks docile and has no sign of attacking them. So, Tara decides to think of something else.

"Let's walk further in, just leave them be" Tara say as walking pass the vileplume and Omanyte. If they are at least cool or cute looking - She would have at least try to befriend them. But they are meh looking for her.

Tara ignores the pokemons that come after and Selena follows suit. Medusa swims through the flats before dropping her trainer, then decides to crawl beside her while the pair finds another spot closer to the natural mountainous barrier of Sootopolis.

“I'm glad you're faithful to your mandate in defending this place. Hoenn is... a very difficult place to live in.”

The words come out nonchalantly, trying to stir a conversation and feeling the pulse of the police force with their leaders' performance.

“Do you think you will still work with the police if you're given a choice?”

Tara tilts her head not really comprehend the last question that Selena just asks, "I am afraid that I don't fully understand your question, Selena. I do have a choice and I choose to be police with all of the choices that I have for the sake of my brother's safety and for my own sense of justice." Tara explains why she become the police. Suddenly, from a higher elevation from where they are currently standing - A wild spheal is rolling from getting chased by a wild frogadier. Tara quickly catches the spheal to stop him from rolling down. "It is okay Spheal, everything is okay I will protect you"

"Selena can you take the Frogadier away," Tara asks the woman. As Selena is busy with the frogadier, Tara tries to calm the Spheal down. Looks like he was left alone and scared, "Spheal... Want to come with me and my friends? You wouldn't be alone anymore"
