another day another battle. he would just have to put a smile on his face and pretend that he was having a good time. after all that's what being a gym leader was all about he had gathered. and for the most part he was having a good time. but he wasn't expecting a silph to walk into his gym. that was for sure. with the flick of his wrist he released his pokemon. jerky would be pretty good against a blastoise, probably.

"glitch maverick! though i'm sure you already know that. feel free to take the first move if you'd like."

since he was the challenger and all.

up catching pokemon on a route he can't seem to remember. either way, he smiles, sizing up the dracozolt. their usual strategy with RAIN DANCE will have to be ignored for now.

why did everyone insist on using weather moves in his gym? was it because it was a cave? at this point he was going to have to start wearing thermals or something. but never mind that.

the ice would do double damage to his poor jerky but that was just part of him being part dragon. sad really. but it was unavoidable in the worst of ways. the electric dragon shivered down to its core, electricity crackling over it's body in an attempt to warm itself.

"peck it."

of course it wasn't actually a peck, it was bolt beak. but that was the same thing really.

if only because he's aware of dracozolt's typing and the moves it'll likely know. blastoise braces itself, tensing through the pain of the BOLT BEAK as electricity courses through it.

blastoise's canons shift, buckling before a HYDRO PUMP erupts.

water connecting the two of them meant that there was a direct connection for discharge to do a great job of hopefully electrocuting the blastoise again.

sure it was predictable to use two electric moves in a row but that wasn't really the point.

as water hit the fossil pokemon electricity began to crackle off of him and shoot through the water as well to return fire. all was fair in gym battles after all.

and blastoise does just that, bracing through the pain of the DISCHARGE that courses through its body. it slumps a little afterward, hurt and bruised, but still ready to fight.

blastoise summons a BLIZZARD that's only made worse by the lingering water from the earlier HYDRO PUMP.

his own tactics used against him. that kind of fucking blowed to be honest. he liked using blizzard to cause chaos when weather effects or water effects were around.

oh well.

it wasn't like he was the only person to have thought of that.

but jerky was stopped in his tracks obviously, the chill moving through his body and stopping him from moving about.

glitch cared more about his pokemon than he did most people nowadays. especially with everything that had been going on. and he wasn't about to let someone kill it over a gym badge.

so he did the sensible thing. he withdrew jerky with the flick of his wrist back to the pokeball.

"i think that's enough of that, don't you?"
