The moment the Delphox’s attack is deflected, the Froslass hits it with a CONFUSE RAY that startles it and makes it stumble, causing the flame at the tip of its “wand” (which is more like just a stick) to set some of its fur ablaze. In the middle of its panic over this, a powerful HEX takes down the Delphox, and Mars then throws a pokéball at it as if nothing.

this time, a SUCKER PUNCH catches virizion off guard, striking her across her neck. she coughs, quickly recovering to see a small spiritomb looming before her. despite its size, there's no denying the OMINOUS WIND that follows.

virizion drags her LEAF BLADE across the ghost-type, unfazed by the PRESSURE, and it's through that contact that comes a GIGA DRAIN that sucks spiritomb dry.

An eyebrow is raised because surely Mr. Elite Four over here must know what jokes are, right? Sure, Mars may have his reasons to actually give excuses, but it’s not like he’s going to tell Matias all that. That would just be stupid.

Watching an Elgyem approach his Froslass, he simply shrugs.

The Elgyem and Froslass float in slow circles around each other, as if measuring each other up, until suddenly the former attempts to use a ZEN HEADBUTT that the ghost swiftly avoids, sending it crashing against a tree trunk. Just as before, a HEX takes care of the rest.

after days of searching, one appears seemingly out of nowhere, which only reminds him of how virizion does the same thing. maybe they're related? who knows.

what matias does know, however, is how quick virizion will be to faint the psychic-type. a sharp whistle points her in the right direction. a LEAF BLADE or two later, the unown-a drops to the ground just in time for a pokeball to smack against it.

virizion's SACRED SWORD slashes through the air, dragging across metal only to slam the psychic-type into the ground. the impact shakes the earth a little, and when the dust clears, it reveals a pokeball where the metang once floated.

a DAZZLING GLEAM shines before a PSYCHIC wraps around the grass-type, slamming it into the ground before a pokeball boops against its third head.

At this, Mars simply looks at him, his expression an unreadable mask before turning towards a nearby Jellicent in order to stop himself from saying anything about it. There’s no need to be unnecessarily rude, after all, since at least Matias hadn’t gone and called himself good company.

The Jellicent is hit with a CONFUSE RAY, and a HEX takes care of it before a pokéball is thrown. Mars goes over to retrieve it.
