He keeps it down in the laboratory hidden beneath the house, the most secure storage he has access to that isn't on the sub. With the issues Rocket's been having involving traitors, lately, he doesn't quite trust the submarine itself.

"Abiatti? What was she doing with—"

He stops, a fervent look in his eyes.

"When Walsh entrusted me with Lugia, he told me to thank the Abiattis for mucking about under Sootopolis. If the Wrynns were working on purification, and there just so happened to be a pillar of Abiatti worship holed up beneath the Spire..."

Had they been trying to purify Lugia?

His fevered gaze darkens.

"We've got to do whatever we can to keep it out of League hands."

She nodded, careful not to reveal any excitement over such access. The possible blueprints for interdimensional mobility. So much power.

Lulu wasn’t very familiar with the Abiattis, and so she said little, regarding her brother’s feverishness with a careful gaze.

“Well.” Her mouth when flat. “Rowan’s got it.” How much did he trust their little brother?

She took the phone, scrolling through the list again—past NIGHTMARE again. A few more had been added, and ULTRASPACE was there at the bottom.

“Interesting.”

Her brow furrowed. Things were coming together; she could feel it, but it was still too vague.

Handing the device back, she returned to the subject of his concern.

“So, what do you suggest we do?”

Gavin was fond of Rowan Wrynn, but he didn't trust him. He trusted no one but himself. He trusts Lulu Flint more than most, and so his gaze locks with hers in all its intensity. We.

He was their brother, but he hadn't grown up with them.

No one knew Cillian Quinn like his own sister.

"Not much we can do but wait, and try and puzzle through what we've got in the meantime. I'm all tied up with Sootopolis, myself."

He would be for a long while, he reckons.

"I'd offer to lend it but somehow I don't think you'd want it with you." A gentle tease; he doesn't really fault her paranoia. He understands it, better than most. "So I'll let you know if anything changes and we can put our heads together then."

A glance is spared for the stew simmering on the stove.

"Grab something to eat before you leave; Arceus knows you'll forget otherwise. I can tell you're itching to figure all of this out."

He's smiling, fond.

lulu shrugged at his assumption, because really, she believed that she might be one of the safest people to be in charge of such a device if they had to be in the hands of someone, but she didn’t press for it. “no worries. sounds fine.”

at the mention of food, she only then realized her hunger again, already preoccupied with the mystery at hand. her brother knew her well enough to remind her, and it summoned the smallest smile to her face, which only grew at his faith in her.

“well… hopefully nothing too crazy happens before it gets figured out.”

with that, the topic of the report was dropped mostly for the evening. she ate a measly amount of food before returning to the shadows of the lighthouse, to the spend the evening researching.

only a couple of weeks later, when the report had been heavily updated, did she resurface to his doorstep again.
