aegislash, due to its typing, makes for a horrible opponent for the clown. with little options available, mr. mime takes the IRON HEAD, stumbling forward only to shift into a TEETER DANCE in an attempt to confuse the aegislash.

a POWER WHIP's slammed down on kangaskhan, and though the sheer impact of it almost sends her off her feet, she remains standing, reaching a heavy paw out to wrap around the grimmsnarl's hair to hold it in place as she sends a barrage of ROCK TOMB.

matias practically snarls when the rocket draws his bow. with a click of his tongue, a shield of PROTECT forms, deflecting the arrow and keeping eva safe from harm.

virizion now enters the fray.

"wrong target, asshole."

he throws another punch at the rocket.

This guy and his fucking bow and arrow. Who the hell shoots a bow and arrow?!

She’s too focused on the tree to notice the attack. Mew is ready to erect a protective barrier when Vizirion enters and does it for them. The doctor flinches at the sight of the arrow buzzing towards her, but the PROTECT gives her solace. Her brows furrow in annoyance. She’s had enough of this guy. Every time there’s a tree, he shows up and fucks with her plans.

Perfect rivalry, huh?

A flash of light bring the Gallde back from her lab. The sudden reappearance make her jump. She’s already on edge with around, “Glad you’re back, Blade! Let’s get to work,” the quicker they finished this, the quicker she could get Matias out of harm’s way.

“Let’s start with some soil samples,” she points towards a patch of earth near the base of the tree. Blade slings a tubular device off his back to take a core sample of the earth beside the tree.

Fucking hell, everything that could go wrong was going wrong. [break][break]

Not only did he have to physically fight an Elite four, his recent mysterious partner showed up too and she just looked like a dangerously fast threat. He took the punch square to the face, a portion of his mask breaking off showing off one of his two red eyes. As soon as he realizes his identity may be revealed he immediately kicks Matias in the gut and leaps back. He covers his face "Bastard!" he growls as he started to grow more desperate and ravenous. [break][break]

He unlatches the rest of his pokeballs, chaos was going to be unleashed, he couldn't hold back against a legendary. He unleashes his silvally, his grimmsnarl and his audino. "Alright morgan, it's time to Mega! your target is that weird green goat thing!" He ordered as Grimmsnarl began to grow larger and his hair began to spread over the rocks from the rock tomb, encasing it and smashing through it. "Spirit break!" he orders as grimmsnarl leaps towards the virizion, looking to grapple her as a pink energy coats it's hands. [break][break]

Aegilsash becomes confused by the teeter dance but Audino quickly acted with a heal bell to remove that confusion and free liligant of her icy prison. It healed the confusion but Aegislash still needed some time to reorient himself so bryan pulled it close to him. He tosses a white/ light blue disk at his Silvally. "Your target is that woman while we hold him off!" he says as Silvally nods and leaps towards Blade the gallade and uses an air type multi-attack. While the two fought Liligant whimpered in the corner, afraid of all this fighting "Lili! Go get help! My radio is smashed! Get one of the bosses or beasts!" he shouts as she rushes off to get help. [break][break]

As she rushes off a strange looking Kommo-o stands guard making sure she was not followed, and he looked hungry.

the fuck? who has two red eyes? but then again, he's not one to talk with his salmon hair. either way, the oddity is taken note of and remembered for the future.

virizion locks in a battle with the grimmsnarl, taking the SPIRIT BREAK before ducking down low and coming up to slash her LEAF BLADE across grimmsnarl's stomach.

with the aegislash pulled away, it allows kagaskhan and mr. mime to converge on the grimmsnarl, understanding that it's a threat that needs to be dealt with before he can help eva. but her gallade's with her, which eases his worries just a little.

so, as ICE PUNCHES and DAZZLING GLEAMS are thrown at the grimmsnarl, matias takes a step back, using the moment to look around.

they're on a timer now.

Well, hell. This all went to shit fast. At least they came prepared. Eva expected resistance.

Although the fight rages on around her, she stays on task despite the urge to join in pulling her towards the shouts of the men. She helps Blade position the core for a good sample when the child clinging to her back lets out a panicked MEW!

It catches both of their attention. Eva and Blade’s heads snap up from their task to see a giant Silvally barreling towards them. The pokemon’s small paws grip even tighter onto the doctor’s shirt, “Blade!” she gives the Gallade permission to leave their task and meet the Silvally head on. It’s not ideal, but it’s what she has at the moment.

The dual-type’s palms raise, a shimmering barrier erecting between he and the charging pokemon. Behind it, the Gallade pulses with power, a pink and red energy obscures his figure before he emerges in his mega-evolution. He’s not messing around with taking on a Silvally, especially one that harnesses a type advantage over him at the moment.

As the shield lower a pink blade emerges from his forearms, slashing with PSYCHO CUT at the face of the Silvally without mercy.

Eva finishes the task at hand, closing the cylinder with a snap, soil sample in tow. She hands the sample to the invisible Mew who TELEPORTS the suspected BLUE MULCH back to the lab.

Grimmsnarl managed to land a clean hit on Virizion, but it's status as a legendary Pokémon was made evident as it's counter attack was not only fearsome but also very fast, too fast for Grimmsnarl. It didn't have time to move out of the way and was pelted and assaulted by it's fearsome leaf blade attack. Grimmsnarl was sent flying back, only able to recover by using it's hair to latch onto a branch to stop itself before an ice punch and a dazzling gleam were flung at him and sending him further back and snapping the branch as well. He needed to focus all of his attention on Matias as it was apparent that he couldn't afford to split his attention anymore. [break][break]

"Fuck." he said looking on in anger, how fucking irritating.  Looks like they weren't going to follow Liligant. "Kommo-o!" he ordered as Kommo-o let out a ferocious roar and leapt forward towards Virzion, using clangorous soul to sacrifice a bit of it's life force to enhance it's powers as it grappled onto the legendary. "Aegis, aerial ace!" he ordered as Aegislash launched itself at virizion. [break][break]

Grimmsnarl gathered himself back up, knowing Bryan needed to make the most of this time of the temporary power boost. "Grimmsnarl! Fire punch!" Matias needed to be taken care of. The Gallade that followed the doctor's orders were followed through as the multi attack collided with the psycho cut and caused a small explosion, sent both Pokémon in opposite directions. [break][break]

Bryan had no idea if she had managed to already collect the sample or not but it was clear he couldn't lay a hand on her until the E4 memeber was handled so "Silvally! Poison fang!" he ordered snapping his fingers and pointing towards virizion "Audino helping hand him!" as she also followed her orders and boosted Silvally's attack.

ganging up on virizion would've been a viable tactic if she's the only one on the field. but there are others, and as another pokeball flashes open, it becomes clear that focusing her down isn't going to be as easy as it seems.

two shields of PROTECT keep some of the attacks at bay. the ones that slip through hurt, but virizion remains standing.

"it's time to go!"

or at least he assumes so. he hops up on his charizard, recalls the others, then starts flying towards eva as wisps of energy start wrapping around the fire-type.

a HURRICANE whips up around them as they pass, intended on causing chaos as the mega evolution engulfs them.

A small explosion pushes both the Mega Gallade and Eva back. They both slam into a nearby root, arching over the dark soiled ground. It knocks the wind right out of her, but a sharp breath fills her lungs once again with the cool night air. Blade is a little slower to recuperate once he notes the Silvally turn its attention to Virizion. Perfect. It gives them the time they need for just one more experiment.

“You ready, Blade?” she grins towards the mega-evolved pokemon as she reaches into her pocket. Eva produces a small, red crystal. It’s one of the few shards of concentrated Primal Energy that the League scientists have access too.

The energy produced by the tree vs. the energy produced by the crystal is different, but similar in the fact that it is powerful, ancient, and not understood. Infinity Energy isn’t the only energy reported to have been present in Sootopolis. Not long ago, a small group of League trainers witness the appearance (and disappearance) or Rayquaza and its hunt for Primal Energy, not to mention to mysterious disappearance of the ruins.

Then this tree popped up? Too many coincidences to not investigate.

At the base of the tree, Eva flicks the crystal into the air. Blade presses his palms together before expanding the protective dome to ignite and encompass them and the crystal. If shit gets bad, hopefully the SANCTUARY will protect those outside of it.

AS BRYAN ATTEMPTS TO DEFEND ROCKET'S TREE, reinforcements arrive to aid him. Grunts shout expletives toward one of the League's Elite Four and Head Scientists as flashes of red summon their snarling Pokemon. As capsules are cracked open— flicks a primal crystal shard into the air.

The Z-MOVE is executed by her Gallade. When the protective pulses outward with a flash of light, the crystal is touched by its expanse.

Then it explodes. Nearby bark or root is exposed from the impact as the Head Scientist is protected momentarily by the dome. Perhaps, as a reaction to the innate infinity energy of the tree itself, when the crystal expends its primal reservoir the release is staggering. However, should , or be able to perceive the tree attempting to take the primal energy for itself within its exposed wounds.

However, the degree of the tree's success is questionable. Unable to be determined in the split second chaos. The Z-MOVE: SANCTUARY finally shatters. The crystal shatters too, and disappears. Like a tsunami, a final wave of energy crashes unto , launching her backward.

Her veins would feel like they're on fire until she hits the ground or is caught.

There was a sudden explosion. Bryan and the rest of his Pokémon were launched backwards to their own respective sides due to the explosion that transpired within the tree. His vision was blurred, and he struggled to pick himself back up as he got the wind knocked out of himself. [break][break]

Bryan's Pokémon were also knocked out, all except for Kommo-o who activated ingrain and began to suck up nutrients from the tree to survive. He'd witness the strange phenomenon of the tree trying to absorb the energy. "What did you DO" he shouts at them as their experiment could cause harm to the tree in his eyes. "Why would you do something so fucking stupid! Why do you keep getting in the way!" he said as he was clearly getting frustrated. [break][break]

a wave of explosion washes over them, buffeting them back. it stops their advance, and as charizard roars as it attempts to regain its bearings, matias sees eva's body being launched over their way.

"VIRIZION!"

in a green flash, virizion speeds ahead to catch eva, stopping her from slamming into the ground.

with rocket grunts starting to field in, it's clear they've run out of time.

but he needs to buy time for eva to recover.

"STALL."

charizard turns with matias still on its back, slamming its wings inwards to summon a rush of HURRICANE to hold reinforcements back.

There’s a moment of silence, almost blissful as energy expands around them. The world moves in slow motion. Infinity energy and Primal energy collide. For a moment, it’s marvelous inside the SANCTUARY, stillness in the chaos as Rocket reinforcements surround them. Bark cracks and shatters, exposing the vulnerable pulp beneath. Briefly, it seems like the tree tries to hungrily drink in the energy. Before she can really make sense of it all, the Sanctuary shatters and her blood boils.

A wave of Primal Energy washes over her. It’s shocking. It pushes the breath right out of her lungs. She wants to scream, but there’s no air left. Instead, her eyes widen and her body goes limp. The pressure on her chest is overwhelming, it’s almost impossible to replenish the breath that has been lost. Eva isn’t the only one blown away. Blade suffers a similar fate, but only one can be saved.

Virizion steps in, catching Eva before she slams into the ground. Blade suffers the blow with a worrying crash. Mega energy drips away from his unconscious body as it phases back to its regular form.

Mew! the legendary chimes in, rushing to its scientist’s side. It hovers over her in worry, the shock leaves her breathless and a moan escapes her throat as the burning in her veins spreads from her heart to her fingertips.

Without hesitation. Mew grabs a hold of her with small paws, casting a knowing look before TELEPORTING Eva to safety. The Gallade shifts in the burnt ground, rolling over to press himself up onto his feet. He offers and Ash a hand and TELEPORTATION to safety.
