She’s too focused on the tree to notice the attack. Mew is ready to erect a protective barrier when Vizirion enters and does it for them. The doctor flinches at the sight of the arrow buzzing towards her, but the PROTECT gives her solace. Her brows furrow in annoyance. She’s had enough of this guy. Every time there’s a tree, he shows up and fucks with her plans.

A flash of light bring the Gallde back from her lab. The sudden reappearance make her jump. She’s already on edge with bryan delarosa around, “Glad you’re back, Blade! Let’s get to work,” the quicker they finished this, the quicker she could get Matias out of harm’s way.

“Let’s start with some soil samples,” she points towards a patch of earth near the base of the tree. Blade slings a tubular device off his back to take a core sample of the earth beside the tree.

Well, hell. This all went to shit fast. At least they came prepared. Eva expected resistance.

Although the fight rages on around her, she stays on task despite the urge to join in pulling her towards the shouts of the men. She helps Blade position the core for a good sample when the child clinging to her back lets out a panicked MEW!

It catches both of their attention. Eva and Blade’s heads snap up from their task to see a giant Silvally barreling towards them. The pokemon’s small paws grip even tighter onto the doctor’s shirt, “Blade!” she gives the Gallade permission to leave their task and meet the Silvally head on. It’s not ideal, but it’s what she has at the moment.

The dual-type’s palms raise, a shimmering barrier erecting between he and the charging pokemon. Behind it, the Gallade pulses with power, a pink and red energy obscures his figure before he emerges in his mega-evolution. He’s not messing around with taking on a Silvally, especially one that harnesses a type advantage over him at the moment.

As the shield lower a pink blade emerges from his forearms, slashing with PSYCHO CUT at the face of the Silvally without mercy.

Eva finishes the task at hand, closing the cylinder with a snap, soil sample in tow. She hands the sample to the invisible Mew who TELEPORTS the suspected BLUE MULCH back to the lab.

A small explosion pushes both the Mega Gallade and Eva back. They both slam into a nearby root, arching over the dark soiled ground. It knocks the wind right out of her, but a sharp breath fills her lungs once again with the cool night air. Blade is a little slower to recuperate once he notes the Silvally turn its attention to Virizion. Perfect. It gives them the time they need for just one more experiment.

“You ready, Blade?” she grins towards the mega-evolved pokemon as she reaches into her pocket. Eva produces a small, red crystal. It’s one of the few shards of concentrated Primal Energy that the League scientists have access too.

The energy produced by the tree vs. the energy produced by the crystal is different, but similar in the fact that it is powerful, ancient, and not understood. Infinity Energy isn’t the only energy reported to have been present in Sootopolis. Not long ago, a small group of League trainers witness the appearance (and disappearance) or Rayquaza and its hunt for Primal Energy, not to mention to mysterious disappearance of the ruins.

Then this tree popped up? Too many coincidences to not investigate.

At the base of the tree, Eva flicks the crystal into the air. Blade presses his palms together before expanding the protective dome to ignite and encompass them and the crystal. If shit gets bad, hopefully the SANCTUARY will protect those outside of it.

AS BRYAN ATTEMPTS TO DEFEND ROCKET'S TREE, reinforcements arrive to aid him. Grunts shout expletives toward one of the League's Elite Four and Head Scientists as flashes of red summon their snarling Pokemon. As capsules are cracked open— Eva Morales flicks a primal crystal shard into the air.

The Z-MOVE is executed by her Gallade. When the protective pulses outward with a flash of light, the crystal is touched by its expanse.

Then it explodes. Nearby bark or root is exposed from the impact as the Head Scientist is protected momentarily by the dome. Perhaps, as a reaction to the innate infinity energy of the tree itself, when the crystal expends its primal reservoir the release is staggering. However, should Eva Morales, MATIAS SILPH or bryan delarosa be able to perceive the tree attempting to take the primal energy for itself within its exposed wounds.

However, the degree of the tree's success is questionable. Unable to be determined in the split second chaos. The Z-MOVE: SANCTUARY finally shatters. The crystal shatters too, and disappears. Like a tsunami, a final wave of energy crashes unto Eva Morales, launching her backward.

Her veins would feel like they're on fire until she hits the ground or is caught.

There’s a moment of silence, almost blissful as energy expands around them. The world moves in slow motion. Infinity energy and Primal energy collide. For a moment, it’s marvelous inside the SANCTUARY, stillness in the chaos as Rocket reinforcements surround them. Bark cracks and shatters, exposing the vulnerable pulp beneath. Briefly, it seems like the tree tries to hungrily drink in the energy. Before she can really make sense of it all, the Sanctuary shatters and her blood boils.

A wave of Primal Energy washes over her. It’s shocking. It pushes the breath right out of her lungs. She wants to scream, but there’s no air left. Instead, her eyes widen and her body goes limp. The pressure on her chest is overwhelming, it’s almost impossible to replenish the breath that has been lost. Eva isn’t the only one blown away. Blade suffers a similar fate, but only one can be saved.

Virizion steps in, catching Eva before she slams into the ground. Blade suffers the blow with a worrying crash. Mega energy drips away from his unconscious body as it phases back to its regular form.

Mew! the legendary chimes in, rushing to its scientist’s side. It hovers over her in worry, the shock leaves her breathless and a moan escapes her throat as the burning in her veins spreads from her heart to her fingertips.

Without hesitation. Mew grabs a hold of her with small paws, casting MATIAS SILPH a knowing look before TELEPORTING Eva to safety. The Gallade shifts in the burnt ground, rolling over to press himself up onto his feet. He offers MATIAS SILPH and Ash a hand and TELEPORTATION to safety.
