A YAMASK summons a HAZE that rolls down from the side of the mountain like a wave in slow-motion. It interrupts the conversation they've been having rather abruptly anyway, however. Finding that quite rude, Remiel steers Rocinante into casting a HEX on the floating mask-wearer.

The Yamask wails, writhing uncontrollably in the air before crashing into the grass below. As the haze slowly begins to clear, having been only moments away from washing over them, Rocinante DISABLES the Yamask's attempt at a CURSE. Remiel, on the other hand, produces an empty luxury ball and tosses it down.

Remiel laughs a little at Melody's description of Adrian. "I suppose you're right. Galar had its own 'punk phase', too, you know. I suppose if being 'punk' represents rebellion, however, then most of us did..."

The soundless trot of his Spectrier comes to a slow stop as a DRIFLOON drifts onto the path they ride on. Remiel reaches out with his bare hand to grab it by the string, at which point it immediately tries to drag him upward. When he yanks it back down, however, it appears to undergo a haze of AMNESIA before confusedly blinking.

Finding pity in this amnesiac Drifloon, Remiel produces an empty luxury ball from his pack with one hand before tapping it against the spectral balloon.

Meanwhile, he raises an amused brow at Melody. "Is that so? I think you'd find I'm quite durable, Miss Miro." And that certainly wasn't a double entendre or anything of the sort. "What's the worst your best friendship could do? You're not possessive, are you?"

Remiel chuckles. "Is that so? I've been told that hints fly over my head at times, too. Perhaps that's why we get along so well." He suggests, parting from the sight of her when a GOLETT trips out from the nearby bushes and stumbles onto the trail ahead rather clumsily before falling (KLUTZ).

Rocinante neighs as he comes to a stop, and the sound of it seems to startle the Golett as it scrambles backward on the ground. Its fear seems to vibrate the very earth below their feet (MAGNITUDE). Before it can intensify further, however, the Spectrier tramples over it with ghostly hooves (BULLDOZE).

Afterward, Remiel produces an empty luxury ball from his pack as he responds to Melody's latest inquiry. "You could certainly say so... something like that." He answers with a knowing smile, turning back towards the Golett and throwing the ball in an attempt to capture it shortly thereafter. "You're not a bad friend, you know."

A GOTHORITA uses its TELEKINESIS to lift a way-marker pole out of the ground and fling it towards Remiel like a spear. Rocinante and his rider phase into a shadowy portal to escape the danger, however, reappearing from behind the Gothorita and trampling her down just after she turns to see them (PHANTOM FORCE). 

In the wake of that, Melody finally responds as Remiel pulls another empty ball out of his pack and tosses it down at the fallen Pokémon. He missed her thousand-mile stare, but he can still tell something is wrong by the sound of her voice. "I can't have been the first person to tell you so." He continues, ignoring her question for now in favor of pursuing this hunch.
