When gravity begins to tug back upon them, she's falling back to her feet, wincing just slightly as her hand gently presses against her chest. She hadn't given herself enough time to recover when she'd first made her escape and now, she was beginning to feel the consequences.

A click of her tongue sends her pokemon into a frenzy, Ema beginning to drown out their voices with a loud Bug Buzz whilst Ame attempts to recover with a Night Slash to the Gengar's face. Stop this? What's wrong? How about Matias having sown doubt in her heart regarding her family? Or the fact that none of them have managed to find her despite her trying to leave them clues? What about the pressure she faces from constantly having to think about who she should side with? Or the dangers that each side presents?

Every step that Doug takes towards her forces her to take a step back. Her gaze sticks to him, only occasionally flickering to Matias whilst glazed with an unspoken fear.

Talk to him... How is she supposed to talk to him when she doesn't even know where to begin?

Tension grows thick within this resounding silence, barely permeated by the quiet crackling of lightning beneath their feet. When she grips onto Reiner's mane, the energy runs lose, Rising from the ground as the concentrated Voltage attempts to burn and scare them away. Though her hands are shaking, she's reaching into her pocket, pulling a knife out and pointing it right at them.

rhyperior (f) lighting rod - earthquake, stone edge, megahorn, drill run, stomp, smack down

carefully, quietly, matias approaches as well, lessening his presence as this isn't his scene to participate in. his role will come soon enough.

whatever attacks spark from reiner is absorbed by rhyperior's LIGHTNING ROD, keeping the league duo safe from harm.

"it's okay. we're just here to help."

it's then that a single MAGICAL LEAF floats in front of eris, almost calling to her.

Something about what's happening seems familiar, but he can't put his finger on it until a knife is being pointed at him.

"Eris." He says, almost in pain at the sight.

She's quaking.

He's seen this before, he realizes.

"Eris." He says again, stopping.

He spread out his arms, showing he was completely unarmed- of pokeballs or otherwise.

"We'll always be friends." He said. "Remember?"

He understood now. Kinda.

"You can choose. You can not choose. You can wait. I won't judge ya, I won't push ya. But choosing either doesn't mean you have to hurt people." He said.

He breathed next as if glass was dragging down his throat. He would never admit this, if not for the fact that someone he cared about had become one.

"Even... even Rocket has good people in it."

Good, well-intentioned people... With absolutely shit judgement, but good people nonetheless.

"So let's just go home, Eris. Wherever ya want it to be."

Friends, even if she makes what he would think is a bad choice. She doesn't have to choose if she doesn't want to, and he'd promised her that things wouldn't change between them no matter who she picked. Doug might understand her just a little but what about Matias that continues to push ahead?

Her breathing begins to pick up, her anxiety ramping as she tries to focus on Doug but finds her gaze drawn towards Matias nonetheless. The moment he takes his next step, something in her snaps, a sharp breath tearing through her lungs as adrenaline slithers through her veins.

With a vicious roar, Reiner leaps towards the man, claws outstretched and fangs bared in the hopes of tearing right through him. She follows right after, wavering just a little but not quite enough to stop short. It's just like Kanto, traitors and dangers all around - Her fears, her anger, her emotions washing over her as she plunges her knife into his side.

and so, eris makes her choice.

her luxray comes crashing into a PROTECT before it ever reaches matias, and while the shield stops one attack, nothing stops eris from closing the distance to lunge at him with a knife.

but he tilts his body, slipping past the tip of the knife only to snap his hand towards her wrist. he holds the knife away, and with his other arm, he reaches it around her, pulling her against his body before holding her tight.

"virizion!"

and just like that, he throws her off to the side and onto a flash of green that whizzes past them.

Things are happening to quickly.

Eris' emotions fluctuate wildly; he can see them plain on her face. His words calm her, Matias' alarm her. He doesn't understand- last time he had seen the two together, they were close.

What's going on?

Before he can figure out what's happening, how to help her- she snaps.

Matias takes one step too many, and Reiner attacks savagely, Eris following not far behind with a deathly knife brandished.

Before he could truly register what's happening, Eris has been thrown atop a green blur and carried off, an impromptu horse riding session the girl clearly had no love for.

"Wait! Matias!" He calls out, alarm filling him. "ERIS!"

And it's precisely because of this that he sees Matias grabbing her, throwing her to the side and far out of his reach.

The fear in her eyes, the way she desperately reaches for him - Lightning pours off of his body, scorching the ground as he stumbles to regain his balance. The Perish Song works at his consciousness, gnawing away at his senses but he refuses to let go just yet. His steps quicken, thunder cracking at his heels as he leads a Wild Charge towards Virizion.

Doug's calls fall on deaf ears, the world falling away as his sight narrows upon the fleeing legendary.

He can't let her go, he won't let her go. She's his only family left and he'd rather die than let her be taken away.

ash (m) blaze, solar power - dragon pulse, inferno, hurricane, subtitute, rock slide, flamethrower

"stop the luxray."

the order comes clear, level against the chaos. the rhyperior roars, stomping its foot into the ground to cause a blocks of STONE EDGE to erupt all around the luxray, hoping to trap it in place.

at the same time, pokeballs flash, and his team's been replaced.

"i'll handle it, doug!"

he takes off into a run, holding a hand out only to reach for charizard's neck as it swoops past. into the air he goes.

"make sure reiner's okay!"

"What the HELL are ya doin'?!" He shouted as he sprinted towards the pile of rocks that had suddenly risen around Reiner.

"If you want him to be fine, maybe DON'T DO SHIT LIKE THIS, ya dang idiot!" He screamed as he reached Reiner~~'s tombstone~~, dropping a pokeball to release his Golisopod and Escavalier out before grabbing at the rocks, yanking back on them forcefully as his pokemon drilled away at them with the ground-type move, Drill run.

What the hell was going on through the other man's head? Where the hell was he taking Eris, after literally putting Reiner into the bloody soil?
