he pouts, allowing himself to be tugged along. it's a good thing his place isn't far from the gym at all. it's primarily why he had rented it in the first place because commuting sucks.

soon enough, they arrive at his apartment, and it's as plain as it could look.

The pout is adorable, as they walk down to Cian’s apartment, Mars finds himself smiling, all of those negative emotions from earlier being as if washed away. Things are not perfect, he knows as much, but they are much better like this – even if there’s still some uneasiness.

There are things they should talk about. Things that occupy his mind, things he wants to clarify, and things he needs to tell Cian. But, for now, he’s just glad to be at Cian’s apartment, and the words that come when the door opens bring warmth upon his heart.

Plain as it may be, Mars finds himself thinking that he wouldn’t mind it if this were actually his home, because it really does feel like it with Cian here by his side.

Mars does have work, even if he said he likely wouldn’t make it back to the office until the afternoon. He actually probably has a lot to do, considering how he took all of yesterday off for the sake of spending Cian’s birthday with him. However, none of those things are important at this moment. Cian will always matter more than work, and that should be obvious.

Plus, how could he want to get back to work when being with him? The thought of working barely even crosses Mars’ mind, honestly.

With a smirk, he follows to the bathroom, once there finally shrugging off clothes that are all too wet thanks to the rain from earlier.

Clothes are discarded onto the floor, something that perhaps is all too habitual for them to do when spending time together like this. It’s also something to which Mars pays little mind, of course, being much more preoccupied with stepping into the shower, with the feeling of the warm water against his skin, and with Cian’s presence next to him.

It’s with ease that his gaze finds Cian’s, and he chuckles at the comment, stepping closer.

”Yeah? Bet it wasn’t easy to keep it to yourself until then, huh?”

A hand reaches for Cian’s cheek, and almost as if to contradict this gentle and loving gesture, there’s a slight smirk.

Despite everything that happened afterwards, it had been a nice surprise – especially seeing Cian so excited about showing him the gym. Even now, Mars feels infinitely proud of him for all of it, and it makes him happy.

The fingers that had been at Cian’s cheek trace his jaw as Mars speaks, going down his neck to his chest – gently, and so very slowly. And through it all, Mars holds Cian’s gaze, his smirk never fading away since he’s all too aware of how impatient Cian can be when it comes to things like these..

”But I’m willing to take suggestions. What do you think I should do?”

He would. Of course he would. It should only be expected, since hasn’t he done the same one too many times before? It’s almost as if a well-rehearsed dance; Mars teases, slowly and taking his sweet time, and it all makes Cian grow so impatient that he makes it obvious.

He smirks, never letting go, never looking away, and leaning in, he kisses Cian’s cheek… and then his neck. Words are whispered then, breath brushing against bare skin just as hands wander:

As if he doesn’t know the answer.

Quicker indeed, maybe just this once. Maybe because, in all truth and despite all his games, isn't Mars just as impatient as Cian?

The game, the dance, it’s all fun for as little as it lasts, but Mars can only force himself to be patient for so long, and Cian’s reactions push him way past that point. Especially the way he moans. He’d almost call it unfair, but isn’t it his own fault?

He hums in between kisses, warm water falling upon them, and just so barely pulling away to meet Cian’s gaze, he smiles, lips finding lips this time. As they kiss, a hand wanders down – touching, just as asked. Or, as told, rather.

It’ll probably be a long shower, but there’s nothing surprising about that.

after getting dressed, he plops down onto the couch, sighing as he leans into the soft cushions.
