Funnily enough, the thought takes him back to that one conversation he had with MATIAS SILPH back when looking for Unown at Mt. Pyre, and how he had mentioned maybe some legendary may be looking over Mars as well. Funny how Matias out of all people would predict that, huh?

he thinks back to the stories he's heard growing up, to the mythical tales his mom used to tell him. he can't seem to remember anything that fit that description.

It’s not like Mars expected Cian to give him any answers regarding the pokémon’s identity, but being reminded of just how much of a mystery it is bothers him to no end. He has always hated not knowing things, and just thinking about how many questions he has about all this is exhausting.

Another sigh, and he once again leans against Cian, considering his words.

”A trio? Yeah, maybe… Most legendaries come in trios or duos, right? At least the ones from Sinnoh do… I really liked reading about them when I was a kid.”

If only Mars had looked at illustrations instead of just the long and tedious research books at his family’s library, but sadly, stories made for kids were rather lacking in that fucked up childhood of his.

In a way, telling Cian about it feels like a weight off his shoulders, even if there’s a certain guilt in knowing that he may have just given him a reason to worry about him. Wouldn’t it be worse to keep it to himself, though? The last thing Mars wants is for secrets to keep existing between them..

The pout distracts him from these thoughts, and he can’t help but chuckle at how adorable it is, as well as at the worries expressed in Cian’s words.

Words that Mars means from the bottom of his heart, and words that, when returned, are just as meaningful to him. It’s easy to believe them, to know that he matters to Cian, even if sometimes there are doubts and things they aren’t in total agreement about.

With a smile, the kiss is returned, and when Cian pulls away, Mars can’t help but sigh heavily.

He chuckles, although this time it's in a tired way.
