In Hoenn, even more so than Kanto, he burned his hottest through the winter and hibernated through spring only to wake again with the summer heat.

Autumn marked the start of his peak activity for the year.

When he got active, he started hunting.

where one hunts, the other walks instead.

it's a lovely day out, one that should be relatively uneventful. he peels the skin off a few berries before handing them over to his squad, unaware of anyone or anything that might approach.

Reinculus and the their ilk were a priority target for the Head Ranger.

He was compelled beyond his limit for cuteness to capture the 'life-sized' amoeba.

However, called from his pokéball Tsukuyomi offered another means of recruitment.

"h e . h a s . v e r y . l o w . a t t a c k i n g . a b i l i t y ." Tilting his heavy head the Kadabra's eyes went cold blue psychically linking with the little permeable. "a l l o w . m e ."

Tsukuyomi's eyes normalized and the Duosion's eyes went wide and watered with a vulnerable glee, ready to become a pokémon on a team, as convinced by the Kadabra.

Crimsen attempted to befriend Duosion!

what the fuck.

literally in the middle of the route is a sole cursola, who might be getting into the halloween mood seeing as how it sticks its tongue out in an attempt to scare them. only one of the wobbuffet gets scared, leaping back to hide behind matias.

one of the other ones bounds forward to CHARM the cursola, which seemingly works, and a pokeball soon follows after.

A Misdreavus came about from the tall grass taking a sudden liking to Kadabra. First it shot him a MEAN LOOK and then sang him a PERISH SONG before rubbing herself against him in glee when he didn't resist.

Seemingly the ghost-type understood being captured meant being close to the psychic-type because after her displays for affection, she became an easy catch for a premiere ball.

Crimsen attempted to capture Misdreavus!

at the appearance of a drifloon, it leaves them little options but to force its hand (or paw?). one of the wobbuffet bounds forward, taking the lead as it links its spirit with the drifloon — DESTINY BONDING them together.

An Elgyem come from the tall grass and with Tsukuyomi lacking for any actual attack move the ranger reached for his Pokéballs for back up only to be informed by the Kadabra that the Elgyem, like the Duosion before it, lacked for attacking power.

In fact it seemed to be that the Elgyem couldn't attack at all, which explained why it was eager to join into companionship with a human.

Crimsen attempted to befriend Elgyem!

binding spirits together with DESTINY BOND likely does more harm than good, so he decides against it when he sees a wild hattrem appear.

a PSYCHIC wraps around one of the wobbuffet, slamming it into the ground only to be immediately countered by its MAGIC COAT. the damage is returned twice as hard, and it's enough to still the hattrem into a pokeball.

It was a bad match up for the little ghostling that drifted in.

Unable to attack because of a lack of move that did so, Tsukuyomi couldn't handle the Misdrevus but he had another to do the ghost fighting.

Jūken usually did the ghost punching but the riolu was back at the cabin with cait alfric.

That left his Alolan Muk as his most trusted ghostbuster.

Even with a ghostly resistance to poison, poison eventually won out. Leaning against Muk's dark typing and the lone ghost was soundly defeated, promptly biting the proverbial dust.

sadly, it's not an UNOWN that appears, but a duskull that slinks out of its SHADOW SNEAK. it regards them with something akin to curiosity, and though it may be wild, it sure doesn't act like it.

"hello?"

the duskull nods, floats on over, then FRISKS one of the wobbuffets. the psychic-type's carrying a berry which it had stolen from matias' pocket.

"wobbu, you bitch."

he reaches out for the berry, then extends it over to duskull.

"it's yours."
