kazimir had arrived to the hot springs a little bit early than was asked of him. maybe it was just the excitement of the good news that was just keeping him so energized, after all its not everyday that you become one of the elite within the pokemon league. he thought he would find himself stuck as a gym leader at the very least, he had a few ideas tumbling around in his head on what kind of gym he would run and now they were all defunct. 

still that didn't mean that this was something entirely different. next to champion just not anybody could reach elite four without putting in a lot of blood, sweat, and tears into being a trainer and kazimir himself was someone who probably did that in droves. whether it was him or pokkenger he was always hitting the grind and fighting whenever he could. guess it was just time to collect some dues.

one of them being a celebration with one of his friends, well fellow co-worker now, that he hadn't seen in a while. when she suggested they come and unwind here kaz was all for it. honestly wanting to hop into the waters was something he couldn't wait on, so taking out his phone he shot off a text just in case she was here already,

"right outside. early braviary gets the caterpie!"

It should be good news. It was good news. She was happy for him, she was so fucking proud of him. He was an elite, he was one of the four strongest, most reliable, most recognizable trainers in Hoenn. But her heart feels heavy and her breath continues to catch in her throat, to tighten her chest and threaten to pull her under.

The nightmares had begun to leak into her waking thoughts.

Stormy gasps, jolting upright at the booming voice of her best friend. He shouts, announcing his arrival-- but he hadn't spoken it out loud. She blinks, shaking her head, to glance over at her phone and the letters that light up across her screen. He's sent her a text message and it had manifested in her mind out loud.

She wasn't going crazy.

"I'm already in the water, slowpoke!"

She texts him back with damp, shaking hands. Even with the heat of the hot spring she still feels cold. Typo's are expected but she doesn't bother and doesn't have the patience to correct them. She just sighs, sinks further into the water, and prays she finds the strength to smile at him when he arrives.

as her text reaches her kazimir can't help but grin as he makes his way inside. making a beeline for the lockers he's already moving his body to undress himself as he enters the changing room and puts his things away. before he does however he opens his bag to take out a paper, one denoting the fact that he was recognized as one of hoenn's finest and invited to join the elite four. the grin on his face evolved into an even bigger smile before he stuffed it back into the bag and hid it behind the security of a locker door.

as he made his way to the warm waters he looked around until he noticed the familiar face of stormy and waved at her if she happened to notice him as he sped his way over. "man and i thought i got here early, what did you move into the hot springs now or what?" he joked as he unwrapped his towel and slowly slid into the warm water. feeling upon his skin brought back a feeling of nostalgia for him as he remembered this is the first place the two of them ever really hung out. back then it was even for good news as well as he managed to beat her in a gym battle and was offered a nice dip in here as an additional reward.

that was also the time when his biggest secret got out in the most...well...he'd rather not repeat the story.

"man its been a long while since i've been here actually. kinda missed these waters now that i'm sitting in them." letting out a sigh the blonde let his whole body relax for a second to let his body soak it all in before he began to shift around, moving himself a bit closer to his friend.

Something is wrong, even if that something hasn't happened yet.

Dread is a cold finger trailing down the back of her neck- and rather than turn her on, it forces her to sit deeper in the water, her nose above the surface, chin tilted to try her best not to lose herself.

Oh thank god.

She sits bolt upright, almost too tall to pull herself right out of the water. He's startled her, but she offers him a warm smile, that same charm she's capable of. Stormy hides her rosy skin behind the warmth and the steam, pretending that it, and not her own embarrassment, is the cause for her blush.

"You should come more often, then! The water is always nice."

She smirks, playful, and slaps the water to encourage him closer. He does so without being prompted, sliding closer. His warmth is immediate, his attention and his good mood infectious. Her smile loosens because she stops forcing it, and she almost lays her head on his shoulder to close her eyes.

But she doesn't.

"What have you been up to?"

"adjusting for the most part. its just kind of been a surreal time." the anxiety that is building up inside of him every time he thinks about it is kept down thanks to the warmth surrounding him be it either the springs or stormy herself. he's happy about it sure, the smile on his face isn't lying about that. but its his eyes that seem to not really be focused, they're constantly moving between everything, her, the water, the other patrons. its only when he takes in a deep breath that he's able to at least keep them trained on her.

"was it this nerve racking for you when you were made elite four storms? it just...it just feels like a spotlight was thrown on me and not pokkenger. its nice i won't lie, this feeling of knowing that your something...more. you get it?" he sort of assumed she did, she was a gym leader before becoming elite four and even before that she was a regular trainer wasn't she? if anyone he knew could probably give him some advice on the transition a bit it would be her.

"damn y'know what? i just realized i don't think i even have a theme for my pokemon like i've noticed the others and you. think that'll make me stand out too much in a weird way?" maybe the anxiety was still seeping through as it jumped out of the water where it was supposed to be drowning but instead was jumping out like magikarps up a stream and jumping onto kazimir as best as they could.

"I bet! I know it was pretty intense for me when I was promoted."

She's lying, sort of, but only because she'd fought tooth and nail to get here. It had been triumph she felt, a sense of purpose far beyond what she'd imagined. It hadn't been surreal, it had been incredible.

"Yeah, yeah I get it. But don't sweat it, you'll do great."

Her brows raise as he changes course on their conversation, hopping from mentions of anxiety to challenge themes. It prompts a smile, and she leans back into the water. Her eyes half-close and she tilts her head back, chuckling.

"Y'know, I'm not quite sure I even know what kyle lopez's or Katherine Fairburne's themes are. I'm not even sure I have one of my own-well- outside of fire-type Pokemon, I guess."

In other words, no, she didn't think it was weird, or at all concerning. But she notes his anxiety and steps closer to him. if he let her, she'd link her fingers through his and tug him down.

"Relax, Kazimir, this is supposed to be helping you de-stress."

"i mean last i fought them kyle had a electric team and katherine had a-" he was stopped by her words telling him to relax and just unwind a little bit. he blinked at her and closed his mouth shut before leaning back and letting himself slip into the water bit by bit, letting it wash over him and wash away all the tension that was building up in his mind and body. she was right, he needed to just relax. it was nothing to really get worked up over and could be put on the back burner for a later date.

"yeah ok. i'm destressing...really destressing." was it really working when he constantly was saying it? it didn't matter really, as long as it felt like it was actually helping then it was probably fine. "but enough about me, what about you storms? anything new happening with you? only fair i get to ask the same question to you y'know." as he's asking his question he's leaning more against her with a smirk on his face, the waters already making him feel a smidge better.

She chuckles, leans into him where he leans into her. She nuzzles her cheek into his shoulder, exhaling softly. He turns the questioning around on her, and she can't help but think about how obscure her life has been.

"Nope. Not really."

Talking to him about her love life going to shit didn't really seem ideal.

"guess we're the same there. kinda." outside of his actual promotion there wasn't much going on with his own life. well, there was a few things actually, but the fact that Zac Ramsay and him were hiding something within meteor falls was probably something that he shouldn't be going around sharing with everyone. even if it included people trustworthy as stormy. 

as he felt her lean into him he smiled and snaked his arm behind her back. "so nothing huh?" he then wrapped his arm around her and pulled her into him more, his chest slapping her in the face, "then how about we do something exciting after this? or sometime later? like really crazy." his excitement was topped off with a laugh, a hearty one at that, "oh like maybe sky diving!"

She feigns ignorance, blowing off the question in favor of curling closer to him. He is warm despite the water already heating up her skin. And when he pulls her closer, arm wrapped around her, she feels secure. It is hard to explain the feeling of dread that lingers at the back of her mind.

"Sky diving? Sounds dangerous, doesn't it?"

She purses her lips, considering his suggestion. Eventually, the woman laughs and shrugs.

"Sure, that sounds awesome."

kazimir pursed his lips as she mentioned the dangers of it all even if she ended up saying it would probably be an awesome time to be had. "i mean we could do it with our charizards and they could catch us is something horrible happened. but even then i'll be with ya." he squeezes her even more into him ever so slightly and his face buries itself in her hair, "so no worries, ya have pokkenger at your back!"

his hold on her starts to relax and loosen up as he leans against the wall and sinks some more into the water, to the point that he's almost eye to eye with stormy before talking again. "but yeah we should do something a little bit fun for the heck of it. ya ever did any camping before? just grab a tent and head out into the wilderness, maybe whip up some curry or something to eat and warm yourself up under the clear night sky. used to do that a lot back home and it was pretty great. that sound like a good time to you?"

"That sounds great, Kaz, seriously. I'd love to."

She smiles, and it's genuine, and she leans further into his squeeze to absorb as much of the love he has to give as she possibly can. She exhales, whispering against his chest:

"No worries.. I have Pokkenger at my back.. hm."

It is said with a smile, and she shifts when he pulls back from her to sink further into the water. She lets him, sinking into the water alongside him. Nearby, a pile of leaves is caught by a strong gust of wind and blown into the hot spring. It brushes against her bare skin and she chuckles, plucking two large ones out of the water to press against each eye.

"Mm... better than cucumber slices."

Not really, she looked ridiculous.

as the leaves blew into their spring stormy seemed to make the most out of a strange accident and make herself laugh as she used the leaves instead of cucubmer slices like one would normally do when getting a spa treatment. it was a funny sight to see and kazimir would laugh...if his mouth wasn't full of leaves that made him looked like a greedent with stuffed cheek pouches as he spat out the crusty foliage. they did not leave a good aftertaste in his mouth.

"ugh. yeah. they sure look better than cucumbers. couldn't never really get into them y'know, for eating i mean. but ya kinda gave me an idea." they were at a hot springs so why not do more than just sit and bathe? "how about we have a spa evening later on? get a nice hot coal massage or even a mud bath! i mean...that's what ya do on a spa day...right? i kinda only know that stuff second hand." the only thing he could even count as experience for him was tanning in a machine one time for the heck of it. did that even count as experience?

"i bet a girl like you probably wouldn't even be bothered by hot coals or even a sauna though, moltres sorts of keep you all nice and heated up like a personal heater." he leans against her, not even questioning if the warmth he was feeling was because of her or just because of the water, whatever the reason it was still a nice and pleasurable feeling.
