Here in the confines of the coffee shop, the hybrid creature seems even larger. And although cafe is not that crowded, it's a far cry from deserted. Some patrons pay them no mind, either experts at minding their own business or simply too jaded by Hoenn's bizarre history to care. Even so, the occasional curious glance burns into the back of Luka's head and gives her pause.[break][break]

"I mean...i-if you're sure, Monsieur..." She trills like a little bird, lowering her song to a coo as she approaches the Silvally with a gentle hand.[break][break]

"Please excuse me," she murmurs, waiting for explicit permission. When granted, manicured fingers pop out the disc and gently slot it in place, the memory glinting a faint pink under ambient light.

THE POKEMON remains still. obedience is beaten into it up to the point that it doesn’t so much as FLINCH at the prospect of being touched. the only change that comes is the watchful eyes that trace her hand’s movements.

when the dis is in place, the drive immediately snaps shut. it screws into place on its own accord, a pink glaze flooding over the pokemon’s eyes. color starts to permeate across the silvally’s more biological features, fur and skin adopting the SILVALLY MEMORY’s distinctive pink.

“looks like i was correct.”

The audible exclamation escapes by accident; immediately Luka feels rather foolish. Even so, she watches with a childlike fascination as the Silvally flushes blush pink, a garden of roses in full bloom.[break][break]

She settles back into her seat again, unsure of what exactly it means, but at least resolute in one thing:[break][break]

"Well then. Ummm...would you like to keep it, in that case? I don't think I have any real use for it."[break][break] She offers it freely— the value of such an object is lost on her, but even were that not the case, Luka is privately relieved for a reason to be rid of it. A cumbersome weight feels lifted from her shoulders, the burden of old memories suddenly shed.[break][break]

"Although I must admit, I'm not exactly sure what happened...erm, it's more than just a light show, I'd assume?"

which is exactly why he invited her in the first place. the fact that she offers it for nothing in exchange makes it all the sweeter. on that note, he doesn’t mention anything further, just gracing her with one last prompt as a courtesy.

his silvally remains standing, attentive, before it ultimately sits back down. the use of its SILVALLY MEMORY usually denotes a battle but when they continue on with their conversation, the pokemon is more than content with remaining there, idle.

“as far as we know, all that does is change the silvally’s typing.”

She speaks with a lofty air, an impression of someone who definitely understands what is going on. The basic concepts connect but true understanding escapes her, aided in no small part by a rather lackluster explanation.[break][break]

But she isn't owed what she doesn't ask. And she gets the feeling that needling the man with questions will hardly impress him. After all, this is what google is for.[break][break]

Casual conversation continues, though her companion denotes even less of an interest than before. If she were a bit more intuitive, she might have realized that his interest wanes as soon as her usefulness has run its course. Regardless, their impromptu coffee date comes to an amicable end— pleasant, though professionally distant. Fernando seems uninterested in requesting a follow-up, and she's too nervous to ask.[break][break]

Though for some reason, she feels the urge to continue to be of use. It's a bit pathetic to seek approval from a stranger, but something about the man stirs the desperate urge to please anyways. "I might have seen some more data on those memory...things somewhere before. If I remember anything, I'll let you know— if you don't mind."
