the conversations thrown on the back burner as greyson spots am ever so familiar face clinging to nearby flora. "well, hey little one." holding a finger out for the fairy-type, he coaxes it to wrap around his finger. she mews in soft greeting.

"no one's seen or heard from either legendary in years. seems a bit odd if they're gunning for it." then again, would they just stand-by and watch as would be assassins do as they please? it's not like they have any stake in the game.

"how's this report work? does it just scan unown?" using his other hand, which had been hovering over the comfey, he releases two unown. one shaped like a v, the other, a question mark. they hover nearby, curious but slightly ominous in their mystery.

sometimes it can take a while before the report bings back with words. for now, matias busies himself with the approaching alcremie.

he's always found the species a bit weird just because it resembles an edible food. why isn't it melting away under the hot sun? thoughts litter his head as he watches it DECORATE the sand with bits of its body. blissey joins it, and the two very quickly become friends.

another bibarel? if he didn't know any better, they'd become infatuated with their little group. lily didn't even know attract. he hopes that the MOONBLAST from his sylveon, and subsequent capture, changes his luck with their appearances.

"not much," he answers honestly. he'd been enamored by the two pokemon, their legends, but any real research into them was always put on the back-burner by life's struggles. first, his mother, then his job at the league. he sighs, returning the unown report to matias. "all of this is really frustrating."

he takes back the unown report, pocketing the device.

"but there is comfort in knowing we're not going through this alone. there are others equally frustrated, i'm sure."

though it's not frustration matias feels, but something akin to dread at not knowing what awaits them. he sighs regardless, turning his attention to the two water-types that appear.

"you should catch the politoed. DAMP is really useful."

simply nodding, taking his superior's advice, he approaches the sun-bathing frog. "hey big guy, how're you doing?" it'd be simpiler to knock-it out and capture it. but that wasn't greyson's preferred style. "here, have a treat. maybe walk with us for a bit?" lily cozies up to the creature as well, mewinig politely in greeting.

"i'm not sure how to help her."

matias is not as gentle as greyson is with the wild oshawott. in his defense, its WATER GUN drenches chandelure first, resulting in an OVERHEAT that just causes the oshawott to wither and shrink into a pokeball.
