Her previous trek up the mountain had proven fruitful. Hopefully, this journey would be similar. . . despite it having already gone to shit.

Lex’s attempt to climb Mt. Pyre ended in her taking a small tumble, falling down a steep cliff and onto the path of Route 121. Luckily there were several branches and rocks to grab onto and slow her fall so she isn’t too beaten up. Dirt smeared across her face is mixed with a small amount of bright red thanks to the cut on her cheek below the scar over her left eye.

“Fuck,” she groans, sitting herself up with a sharp exhale. The Spectrier snorts, walking casually up the path as if nothing had happened, “Yeah, thanks for the help ya little shit.”

it's hard not to feel concerned over someone falling off a cliff. at the bottom of it, matias looks over, approaching with his blissey who immediately hops over to tend to her.

his gaze drifts briefly to the spectrier, then back to her.

"looks like you ate shit there."

The Spectreir’s silent steps stop as the silhouette of a man approaches. Both ears perk up in curiosity, a gentle snort of warning to the woman. Rubbing the back of her head, she follows the equine’s gaze. Great. Perfect. Exactly what they need.

A Blissey immediately tends to her wounds, inspecting her with a critical glare. Lex tense, immediately uncomfortable by the pokemon’s sudden invasion into her space. She doesn’t know this person. Or does she?

The full moon casts a light shadow over the man’s face. Immediately, he recognizable. An Elite Four member. Lex isn’t on great terms with the League, “Yeah,” she grunts, pushing herself up to her feet, “Yeah I did,” she admits, looking behind her and up from where she came.

War continues his casual saunter over to her side, curling around behind her to rest his chin over her shoulder.

It’s a casual question and hostility doesn’t linger in his tone. He doesn’t make a move or threaten her with arrest. So, her eyes narrow as HEAL PULSES wash over her, “No,” she lies, because why would she openly admit it to him? Her shin tilts up, scoffing at the thought of being a thief, “I don’t know what you’re talking about.”

Spectrier disappears when he sense the Gastly close, disappearing intot he spectral plane with PHANTOM FORCE striking at the Gastly when he emerges. The equine’s GRIM NEIGH pierces the chilled air when he emerges victorious. The Gastly hangs limply from his mouth when he approaches, offering it to his master as a means of apology for letting her fall. She accepts by dropping an empty pokeball on the ghost.

the lie is expected, logical, but it's still disappointing to hear. he chuckles, shifting his gaze away to the approaching drowzee.

Although she wasn’t incarcerated too long, the bitterness of it still washed over her tongue. Up until that point, she’d never been caught. Now it stained her record and earned her a sense of recognition she didn’t want. Her jaw clenches in annoyance, shoulders stiff with uncertainty. She doesn’t believe him, why should she? Isn’t he supposed to be a selfless defender of good? A role model? A ranking member of the League whose power is meant to deter and snuff out the likes of her?

War disappears again, striking down a nearby Sableye with a well-placed Psycho Cut. A pokeball follows, sucking the ghost into it.

There’s really nowhere else to go. Against her better judgement, she agrees, “Sure,” if things get sketchy, she’ll run. Like always.

“Huh?” her face twists in confusion as the Blissey tugs her along down the path. For now, she doesn’t pull away. Perhaps a thank you for healing her up after the nasty fall.

Spectreir appears ahead down the path with a PHANTOM FORCE, striking at the Honedge that floats idly near the trees. The force of it drives the sword into the bark. It wiggles, trying to get free. Before it can, Lex uses her free hand to toss a pokeball towards the ghost.

Lex breaks the silence, “MATIAS SILPH, right?” she knows, but she feels the need to confirm.
