"oh...really?" avery asks. she'd never gotten compliments on her fighting before. but to be fair, if she got a compliment, it wouldn't be from a person who just get the receiving end of a punch. can't have everything, she guesses. "thanks!" maybe matias was being sarcastic, but she wasn't going to pass up a compliment if she saw one.

she follows the trainer's direction, returning her pokemon and throwing out her meowth. "okay shithead, get 'em!" avery says, pointing to the deino. shithead hits it with a FAKE OUT, making it flinch before unsheathing his claws, and SLASHING upwards, leaving dark jagged marks on the deino's body.

the deino's DRAGON BREATH singes shithead's fur, but he persists, finishing the pokemon off with a METAL CLAW. avery uses this change to throw another pokeball, capturing it with ease. it's about the time that matias has finished with his own pokemon.

"really?! that's awful nice of ya." to avery, this kindness was foreign. she hesitates, unsure if she really deserved it. she was a stranger, and not a very innocent one, at any rate.

"how about i pay you back? i can get you pokemon or a donation or something."

"wow, i don't usually get compliments for shithead." she says, and when shithead looks back, she sticks a tongue at him. avery grins at his flailing of claws, unbothered by his threat. it's all fun and games. at least, to her it is. she sees the other pokemon and passes by them, leaving them unbothered.

"deal." she sticks out a hand, making good on her end of the offer. she may be a petty criminal, but she knows a good opportunity when she saw one. before they shake, avery adds, "as long as it ain't lobster...tough world out there, y'know?"
