the end result stays the same, however.

the STONE EDGE isn't enough to knock the pangoro out. what is enough, however, is the fall.

after the steelix's hit, naganadel's ALLY SWITCH with pangoro places itself in a threatening position. that close to steelix and the officer, the OVERHEAT that pulses looks to sear.

HEAL PULSE keeps naganadel healthy enough.

decidueye, having disappeared into its PHANTOM FORCE to avoid the DISCHARGE, reappears by theo.

meanwhile, as wisps of energy wrap around banette, it TAUNTS, drawning all the attention towards it as it giggles.

Now, Remi isn't here to kill anyone. Really, she isn't even interested in hurting anybody. All she came here for was the Gardevoir. Rocket paid handsomely for specific shit, and she was more than happy to oblige. It's why she lets Theo do all the hard work and let's him draw blood and the like.

Because she is literally only here for one thing.

The Gardevoir, suffering from their poisoning and rattled by the fight breaking out, are easy targets for the woman to toss empty pokeballs at. One or two are hopefully sealed in their capsules and quickly retrieved thanks to the power of God and Anime - science.

But she does lose her footing when a gigantic Steelix pops out of one of these similar capsules. It is all she can do to tuck the Gardevoir balls into her pants and hit the road. She stumbles, the ground suddenly uneven, and she covers her ears as the Pokemon screams.

Skuntank does not advance further after pushing the Delphox back. There's no reason to. She merely serves as a distraction and a barrier to protect her trainer while she does all the work. Their job was done, mostly, and it was time to get the hell out of there. But instead of running, the League was turning up the heat.

Cool and everything, but she'd like to go home and get paid now.

"Can we go now, then?"

Theo releases a Banette, the ground keeps shaking, and at some point, Remi looks over and her Skuntank is belly-up. She's tensed up and grimaced and there are a dozen sharp rock spikes sticking up out of the ground and all of a sudden the Stelix is now ten times bigger and way scarier.

"Cause I'd like to go now, boss."

She returns her Skuntank and picks up and returns her Seadra that she had unceremoniously dropped on the ground, and glances back at the underboss. She hates looking up to authority, but she seeks out his now. The situation had escalated and she was running out of quirky moves to get out of here with.

things seem to be turning in his favor, when the ALLY SWITCH forces the dynamic to change once more. greyson doesn't even spare a glance at the falling panda, turning all of his grimace in his glare onto the ultra beast. "ellie!" he roars, pulling on their connection, desperate to call forth their z-move... but it falls flat. the wisps of a TAUNT trickle in all of his pokemon, forcing the league officer's nose to flare in indignation.

then, the OVERHEAT washes over the battlefield. his pokemon, well-trained despite the TAUNT, move into action. steelix wraps her massive frame around both greyson and his comfey, taking the brunt of the flames against her metallic shell. she roars in pain, a sanguine hue tempering her body, forcing both greyson and ellie to back away lest they burn themselves from her touch.

she retaliates in anger, another STONE EDGE rampaging its direction towards the ultra beast.

elsewhere, his delphox leaps in front of the zeraora, summoning a shield of MYSTICAL FIRE, while above, the salamence tucks her wings and takes a dive towards the Remi Cassel (and THEO BECKETT if he's nearby).

behind him, voices echo as reinforcements find their way into the clearing, and towards them.

he blinks, snapping away from the heat of the battle to properly gauge their situation. the gardevoir are theirs, and the mission's done.

theo nods, calling out another pokemon.

"whenever you're ready."

the diving salamence is blocked by a PROTECT, buffeting it back as banette slithers back over to them.

the battle rages on.

Her pockets are lined with fresh Gardevoir for the picking. The officer is properly distracted fending off an ultra beast, and Remi is tucked moderately close to Theo Beckett and waiting for them ot be whisked away to safety.

Naturally, she grimaces as the officer's Salamence comes barreling toward them. The chances of her getting her pokeball out fast enough to block with one of her bears giant paws is slim to none, but thankfully a PROTECTIVE barrier deflects the attack. It wouldn't last though if they kept stalling.

She had to wonder if Theo liked being in the heat of battle and beating people up.

"I'm ready. Beam me up, cheekbones."

the salamence meets the PROTECTIVE barrier with a torrent of FLAMETHROWER. she'd remain in the air, perched and hovering as she releases a continous stream, waiting and hoping that the barrier would fall soon.

as league officers stream into the clearing and form a protective circle around the psychic-types, greyson grimaces. too many had been captured here today; too many with fates unknown.

either way, he places his hand on alakazam's shoulder, then after a moment, right as the PROTECT shatters, they TELEPORT away.

mission complete.
