Heavy footsteps draw her in. She presses her shoulder against the wall, peeking around the corner slowly to find the hulking Haxorus making its way forward. It doesn't appear to have noticed her yet, which means this is her opportunity.

Two pokeballs fall from her fingertips, and two Sneasel launch forward. They seem to blend into the shadows that peel back from the rocky walls, and they spring upon the immense dragon without fear.

Unlike Remi, who feels as though the air has been vacuumed right out of her chest.

Fortunately, her Pokemon are able to operate even without her direct instruction. And, they are well-versed in the handling of Pokemon much stronger and much larger than themselves. Built for speed and stealth, their combined icy influence freezes the Haxorus just enough to slow it down.

And then they go for the kill, so to speak. With a groan, the Haxorus goes down, and Remi steps forward finally to face her fears (what fear, the Pokemon is unconscious?) and capture it.

Fingertips grip the pokeball tight, and although the Pokemon within does not attempt to break out, she holds it with a fierceness indicative of her fear of such. thing happening. Eventually, however, the woman tucks the warm pokeball away in favor of taking in her surroundings again.

Nearby, there is a splash that she had originally overlooked. But upon closer in spection, shadows dance along the wall and the sound of footsteps draw her attention in further. It appears that she may not be alone- but she has not yet realized that it is another human being in the cave with her.

No, because she has spotted the floating little creepy little unblinking little eyeball near the waters edge. Angelo, somehow, remains out of sight for the time being. With a sharp whistle, Remi directs her two Sneasel to the hovering Unown. And, naturally, they take to her command quickly and with the intent to be efficient.

This was their task, after all, and it seems all of their hard work had begun to pay off. Remi grins from ear to ear, unaware of the giant Jellicent rising from the depths behind her to swallow her whole.

Frankly, if the situation were any different and Remi didn't have such a bad reputation under her belt-- she'd probably find quite a healthy kinship with the young man. They both seemed to be driven by the need for money in order to survive. In fact, she'd probably laugh at the fact he'd named his Unown 'Jackpot'. Alas..

Remi's eyes widen in surprise as a second, deeper whistle echoes off of their cavernous maze surrounding them. Unsure where it's coming from, hse immediately glances over her shoulder to --

"Oh shit."

Fortunately, the Dratini that wraps around her neck, tucked out of sight, rises from her collar to hiss and spit. Her OUTRAGE is apparent, and apparently successful in discouraging the gelatinous monster from pursuing an easy supper.

Heart now in her throat, Remi side-steps or stumbles away from the water's edge, hand clutching her rapidly beating heart.

And then, when she looks up, there is a dude standing there all red in the face, telling her to fuck off. Bewildered, she glances between him and her Sneasel who still fight and claw at one another now to grapple the Unown. The two bandits disperse at the explosion of rock, rushing back to rejoin Remi. They hug either calf, peeking around her to glare daggers at the Garchomp.

"Wait-- that one's yours? Why the fuck're you letting it run loose? Are you stupid?"

"I mean.. I guess?"

What is she supposed to say? No? That hanging out with a super rare, super sought-out Pokemon wasn't the stupidest thing to do.. ever? Talk about a red flag waving over your head, Remi.

So she settles for awkward stumbling, blustering, gaping in bewilderment at this man's audacity. Her face very nearly resembles the wild Jynx that strolls on past.

"Accidentally. Right."

Remi frowns, glancing between him and the Unown again. Part of her really itches to just grab it and run. It's just.. hovering there, staring at her with that creepy, unblinking eye. But if she did that..

Nah. Not worth the effort. She's met too many people these days who looked like they were only a few pounds soaking wet, but were actually twice the size of her in strength and potential (paxton concordas). She'll pass.

"Uh-huh.. no hard feelings."

God, he was arrogant. Was that even the right word? He was something, at least. Apparently, the tension between the two kindred spirits was too frigid even for the passing Jynx. She gasps, muted in horror, before shuffling along.
