she wasn't the only one in search of someone that day.

having been lucky enough to have been in the area, greyson was the one who put out the call initially. the ground rumbles, and his violet hues narrow in their direction. for comfort, out of habit, he reaches to thumb the comfey around his wrist as another massive figure comes up behind him.

"chlo," a passive greeting, attention directed at a nearby emerging onix. a woman sits a-top it, and he careens his neck to meet the approaching hoard, steelix's tail wrapped around him in a half-protective measure.

"halt under the authority of the league!" he holds up his trainer ID, noting him as an officer of the organization. "state your name and business."

for now the strips of torn clothing that hung on a nearby branch, were forgotten.

"linc!" she calls, and the midday lycanroc slows his pace, growling with bristled fur at the other two. he's protective because he knows his rainer is, admittedly, super naive.

"hold up nic," she tells her onix, who slows and lowers himself so francie can slide off. "hi! my names francie--not again!"

she felt herself lose footing and frantically waves and flailed, balance returning to her in all the antics, and then she sighed out a cute little, "phew, caught myself."

after clearing her throat, she continued her introduction.

"i'm francie myrtle, a ranger and representative of the silph company." she pulls out her own identification, eyeing the one held out to her and then smiling as she looked at the tall and serious stranger. her own expression was a bit too smiley for the situation, but she smiles to hold herself together. always had, wouldn't ever stop; not again.

"you were the initial ping, weren't you? so you're on the case of the missing person as well?"

ranger and silph representative? how did that work? surely there must be a conflict of interest there. regardless, he doesn't press that narrative - priorities.

"i am," he starts, before quickly adding, "to both of those questions." her bubbly personality was a stark difference to most he'd worked with. it was refreshing, in it's own way, but still, it threw him off.

"are you one of the responders?"

"yes! yep, that's me. responder. happy to see somebody's out here looking as well, that's a relief."

and she'd be making a note to the rangers as well. man, they really needed a quicker way to move around the region than just ranger stations and possible rangers in the area. at least, to francie that was the fact.

maybe they could come up with an app or something, via silph co., y'know?

"do we know where they were last seen? could try and snuff them out from there."

as if spurred by her question, his eyes widen a moment, tapping the tail of the steelix to force her to unravel. "yeah, actually," he starts, turning towards a nearby tree - the same one he'd been looking at before francie's arrival - "here."

he takes a step towards it, but is careful not to contaminate it with is touch. "a bloody cloth, torn maybe as they were running this way?" speculation, of course. but, what could they've been running from?

"i was going to have my arcanine chase the scent, unless you have a better idea?"

"oh! perfect, no no." francie's onix, nicky, had started to greet the steelix in a small grind of his boulders.

he's not straight flexin' cause that steelix is definitely a hell of a lot stronger and dope than he is, but also, he's more agile-- not by much...

"you can go ahead with you're arcanine, i've been told they have better sense of smell than lycanroc's, like houndours."

which, she needed to get her one... or maybe more? why not two?? fiery friends!
