"Well, I am, but I'm not sure I'll find it here." After procuring a small apple from her bag, she continues. "I've heard of a type of Ponyta that is psychic and instead of flames it has a poofy cloudy mane and tail." A patch of black fur flashes in her periphery, and she stops and takes a step back to see what it is. [break][break]

The closer she gets to the creature the bigger it gets. Before realizing it, Mattie finds herself locking eyes with a sleepy Pangoro. They blink a few times at each other in surprise. Mattie slowly reaches out, offering the rest of her apple to the bear who eyes the offering warily. Sensing she isn't going to take the food directly from her, Mattie sets the apple on the ground and slowly backs away, heading back onto the trail with Mars. The small crunches of satisfaction reassure her that the Pangoro was much more interested in its nap than it was with her.[break][break]

Without missing a beat, she continues her conversation with her companion. "I've never seen one personally, but they sound amazing and I would love to have one on my team."

Recognition comes immediately when she describes the pokémon, a faint smile tugging at his lips when naming the species. Unbeknownst to Matilda Greenlaw, Martín del Mar is a man who is actually quite fond of equine pokémon; his family raised them for races, he grew up around them, and he has quite a few of his own. So, a Galarian Ponyta is definitely something he knows well. In fact…

And, as he talks, another much different pokémon seems drawn to their conversation, one that coincidentally so, Mars also happens to be quite fond of. An Inkay.

It floats through the air and approaches them, the Raichu surfing circles around it. For a second, Mars wonders if it will act hostile, but the three pokémon seem to instead end up playing together – the Inkay even twirling in excitement.

Matilda eyes Martín del Mar in surprise, but immediately lets out a laugh. "Oh well that does make sense, doesn't it? Horses and the water, and all that." She giggles, watching the Raichu and Inkay play together for a bit. She then looks over at her companion a bit more seriously. "I honestly would love to visit your Galarian Rapidash sometime. I personally haven't studied many of them and I would love to check out the differences in Ponyta species." [break][break]

Sorin performs a quick dive, and then another. Matilda looks over at her Taillow and notices him repeatedly dive bombing a Hitmontop to keep it distracted from the people on the path. Mattie smiles and side steps, accidentally bumping into Mars before blushing and correcting herself. "Sorry," she mumbles, locking her eyes on the path ahead of them.

Horses and water. Mars knows the stories well, he has always been fond of them, even back when he was a kid who disliked equine pokémon because spending time with them and learning to ride them was an obligation imposed upon him by the family he loathed.

”It’s not because of that, though. I grew up around horses like Ponyta.” That’s all he explains about that, his attention turning towards a Beheeyem he notices in the distance. With a nod, the Raichu are directed to deal with the wild Psychic type.

Electricity sparks all around, and it’s then when Matilda Greenlaw bumps into him. Instinctively so, he reaches for her, a hand finding her arm to provide her some sort of support and make sure she doesn’t fall. Once sure she’s okay, Mars lets go.
