Deoxys prowled the moonlight city of Sootopolis. Pulling fictitious strings, it manipulated stolen skin like a puppeteer. One foot in front of the other, head forward, arms swaying at its side. The human performance is nearly flawless. [break][break]

Nearly. [break][break]

Each step came with a pencil's straightness and the sound of a thud. Slight inconsistencies amplified by the ocean's distance in its eyes, turning warning whispers to loud alarms. Unnatural, alien - the bell rang to anyone able to hear. [break][break]

Deoxys quickened its pace. Somewhere in the city, a powerful force slept. Present every time its host ventured into Sootopolis. So far, it had done nothing but for how long? Deoxys couldn't let a threat go unchecked.[break][break]

Removal was the only option. And it knew exactly where to find its prey. [break][break]

Melody Miro's gym.[break][break]

Nearing the cliff overlooking the building, Deoxys broke into a sprint. Gravity shackled flesh and bone in an unfamiliar way in this form. While it couldn't fly, there were ways to bend the chains like rubber. At the bluff's edge, it jumped, pumping its host legs with biomass for an added boost.[break][break]

It crashed onto the gym's roof. The body stiffened like a corpse. Its head snapped left to right, looking for signs of danger. [break][break]

Cobalion was with melody once again with melody in the main concert hall of her gym, the events of Gavin and Lugia invading her space still fresh in HIS mind. However Melody exhibited strange behavior afterwards that had Cobalion worried about her, she seemed unbothered by such events and it managed to make a crack in Cobalion's composure. [break][break]

She felt like she could sense something was strange in Cobalion and wandered over to his side and gave him a big squeeze, shoving her face into his chest fur. "Seriously this fur is wayyyy to fucking soft compared to the rest of you. What's wrong buddy?" she asked curiously wondering if he'd speak for once. [break][break]

However something immediately stole both of their gazes as they looked upwards. A massive thud and some fragments of glass falling from the roof made an intruder's entrance known. Melody's baby Pokémon who hung around the concert hall with her ran away, fearful of whatever made that noise and she looked over at Cobalion and got on his back immediately as gardevoir came to her side and teleported them over to the roof. [break][break]

It was there that Melody and her party saw a strange phenomenon. "What the hell?!" she said it being immediately evident this man was not normal. Was he an avatar? How could he have possibly done that? "Gardevoir. Go warn the others to stay hidden, me and Cobalion are gonna stop...whoever this is." she says as gardevoir nods in agreeance and gets to work. They were alone now. [break][break]

"What do you want?!" she shouts at him as cobalion watches closely and waits for any sudden movements.

This person was not friendly.

Its head jerked in Melody's direction. The idol's question hung in the stale air. Emotionless, crystal orbs staring out from the darkness of its host's hooded face answered her. [break][break]

Compared to Killian, this human was diminutive. Masculine bulk traded for a feminine lean. Hardly worth consideration. A facet not shared by her turquoise furred mount. Deoxys' regarded the musketeer cautiously. [break][break]

The source. There's no mistaking it. Cobalion's iron-will tugged Deoxys psionic senses, radiating power from a steel-born soul that the woman straddling him couldn't grasp. [break][break]

Layers of muscle squirmed like scuttering insects underneath the skin. A spasming wave of flesh jabbed at its clothing, desperate to break free. Deoxys' head tilted. The apathetic blues eyes of its host flashed a violent red. [break][break]

Deoxys reeled back. The red-blue biomass bubbling the skin erupted forth from its prison of flesh. Coating both arms in the muscle, they morphed into deadly tendrils that flung at Cobalion. [break][break]

Impale, skewer - devour.[break][break]

Remove the threat.

Cobalion was suddenly under siege as tendrils lashed out towards him, melody ducked behind his head as he quickly drew out his sword and tried to parry them with two swings but the third one managed to graze him and inflict some damage. "Cobalion!" she shouted out of concern. [break][break]

This adversary was becoming a problem and quickly, he had strength and power that was on the same level as her precious sword. What could they do? Wait. "Cobalion! stone edge!" she commands as cobalion is confused at first before realizing what she aimed to do. Cobalion stomped his hoof and let out a fearsome roar as some rocks manifested over head and slammed down on their opponent and also into the glass. The already cracked glass fractured even further and further until eventually. it cracks [break][break]

The trio were suddenly falling but cobalion used his knowledge of the arena to find a ledge and leapt from ledge to ledge onto the stage lights and looked over at his opponent to see how he handled the situation.

Deoxys leaped to the right, narrowly avoiding the incoming rocks. Predicable, or so it thought. It's only once the glass beneath them shattered that Deoxys realized damaging it hadn't been their aim. [break][break]

Clever.[break][break]

Its tentacles retracted into its back as it fell, eyes on the ground. Deoxys may have fortified its host, but the flesh is still human. And humans were soft, squishy things. Easily bent and broken - slow to heal when injured. That couldn't be allowed to happen.[break][break]

Biomass leaked from its pores and formed a protective cocoon of red and blue around its body. Seconds later, it impacted the ground. Deoxys shuttered from inside its shell of flesh. [break][break]

Melody would see the biomass writhe, clearly pained. [break][break]

Enough of these limitations. It couldn't leave its host, but Deoxys could enhance it further. Bend the rules that bound it. Amongst the dust and debris kicked up from its fall, Deoxys began to change. A portion of the biomass layered its host skin while the rest sank into the body. Muscles swelled, and a multitude of tentacles formed on its back. [break][break]

With a mighty roar, it blasted the cloud away to reveal something new. Something different. [break][break]

Something Monsterous [break][break]

Deoxys lunged forward in its new form. A set of tentacles lined with jagged, razor-like teeth whipped violently at Cobalion. Another, less sharp tentacle reached for the girl, attempting to yank her from her stead and into the air.

Cobalion slowly leapt down from ledge to ledge until he was at the bottom of the gym, the main hall. He stared at the dust cloud as a grin spread across her lips "Hah! Thought you were so clever by dodging the attack didn't you?" she said crossing her arms and appearing content with herself and Cobalion. [break][break]

The brief feeling of euphoria was quickly fleeting when the cloud dust cleared and their opponent took on a new monstrous form. The speed it moved with rivaled even that of MATIAS SILPH 's Virizion as it quickly grabbed Melody by the leg and stole her away from her stead.[break][break]

Her trusty partner tried to chase after her but he was quickly met with some blade tendrils that sliced at him, forcing him to retreat. Once he realized this became a hostage situation he decided to not make any sudden move. It was clear he cared about her as he locked eyes with mysterious creature, using scary face to warn whatever this thing was to let her go or he'd regret it. [break][break]

Cobalion was stalling for something, hoping it'd arrive in time.

That's what Cobalion called a scary face? Pathetic. Deoxys hissed and tightened its grip on Melody. The tentacle holding her snaked along her body, coiling around curves and squeezing. [break][break]

It suspended the young maiden high above the ground between itself and Cobalion. The threat was clear, attempt to move, and Melody's career would end early. Deoxys commanded Cobalion to kneel with an ear-piercing shriek. Its second tentacle lashing at the knight's back.

Melody felt so disgusted she almost wanted to throw up, the writhing biomass was something straight out of a perverted manga. She fidgeted where she could, kicking at the tentacles and trying to fight back in whatever way possible for it to release her. [break][break]

Cobalion's rage remained in his expression, but the scary face didn't seem to have much of an effect on whatever this thing was. It unleashed an ear piercing screech and sliced at her partner's back. Melody felt hopeless, she was holding him back wasn't she? That's why he hadn't blessed her yet wasn't it? [break][break]

She became much more sullen as one of her painful migraines began to set in. However as it came, it didn't subside like it typically would like her emotions of sadness. She looked at Cobalion and noticed something strange in his behavior. He knelt, and bowed his head.. "Cobalion! No!" she cried out "Don't give in to-" she said as cobalion's eyes locked onto hers as she realized what he wanted her to do. [break][break]

"LET ME GO" she shouts as Cobalion's sword grew even larger than before and while the monster would hopefully be distracted, Melody's gardevoir cut in. A well placed psychic attack tossed her a solution to her imprisonment, her rapier. It sliced at the biomass but then soon fell down as gardevoir quickly teleported away again to not interfere any further as that creature would possibly come after her next. "Curtain call!" she called out as Cobalion leapt towards the Pokémon with an intense flash of light emanating from it's body.

Something felt off. The knight's submission came far too easy. The alien's vision narrowed, distrust apparent in the white void of its eyes. What was Cobalion scheming? [break][break]

Deoxys hissed, malleable skin writhing in anticipation of a trap. It didn't have to wait long for it to spring. One of its eyes snapped to Gardevoir. It's a second too slow to stop her from attacking. The thrown rapier cleaved several tentacles down the middle, splattering blood across the stage and freeing Melody from its grasp. [break][break]

The pain is white-hot, but there's no time to dwell. Its host body is in danger.

They had the upper hand! It was their time to strike, now or never! Cobalion leapt forward but upon Melody seeing traces of a human in the attacker, she hesitates. [break][break]

"WAIT!" she shouts as the z-energy from her half of the move vanishes, her hand reaching out to her pokemon in vain.[break][break]

And in that small moment of hesitation, the z-move fails, turning into a sacred sword aimed right for Deoxys as Cobalion was still coming at them both with his own full force. The sword of justice didn't see gray, only the line between black and white and he was ready to cleave them in two for their crimes against his partner, even if it was against her wishes.

If only it weren't limited to this feeble form. Against its true power, the knight wouldn't stand a chance. But at least Cobalion made the mistake of getting close.[break][break]

Time to feast.[break][break]

Its flesh softened and squirmed as if layers of grotesque insects scuttered underneath. "......" faster than the blink of an eye, the biomass shot at Cobalion in the form of fleshy blue-red chains. They'd wrap around his back and attempt to pull him in, devour him whole.

She had to act now, if she didn't he would die. Consumed by whatever kind of nightmarish god created this thing. [break][break]

Melody was frozen in fear, unable to move forward. She finally had the chance to put her sword skills to the test but when it came down to it, fear plagued her heart and kept her from jumping into the maw of the beast. [break][break]

She gripped her sword "Let him go!" she shouted as instead of leaping into the belly of the beast. She threw her sword at it with all the strength she could possibly muster. Maybe he couldn't digest metal? It was the best she could do with who she was now. She ran over to Cobalion and tried to tug on him to pull him away from it's tentacles. "Let him go! Y-You fucker!" she shouts at him. [break][break]

It seemed like some of her pokemon couldn't obey her orders though..Heatran came waddling around the corner and roared at the sight it saw in front of it.

The rapier pierced its side like a dart, but Deoxys didn't react. Slowly, the weapon sunk into its flesh, stored for later in its biomass. How irksome. This stupid girl was making things harder than needed. A common trait among humans, it seemed. [break][break]

It would get nowhere with her around.[break][break]

Deoxys relented, releasing Cobalion from its chain as Melody pulled to free him. The alien creature leaped back, focus split between the pair and the incoming Heatran. More back-up. It couldn't handle so many threats alone. [break][break]

Time to leave.[break][break]

A tentacle shot from its back to the shattered window above with a shrill shriek. Latching onto the frame, Deoxys yanked itself up, body vanishing from view as it retreated into the night.[break][break]

Next time Cobalion wouldn't be so lucky.
