He knew that the Safari Zone was a rotating door of curated Pokémon, but this was starting to get ridiculous. It was almost tradition at this point for a SNUFFUL to meet him just as he was setting out on his trek. Was this all staged or something?

With a sigh, he nodded for Pepin the once again take care another of these little pink bears. With an annoyed squeak, the EEVEE leapt from his trainer's shoulder and rolled right into a Take Down, slamming roughly into the STUFFUL.

This one put up a little more fight than the last few. It's Payback was fairly damaging, enough to stagger the EEVEE and cause him to disengage. This little fucking bear wasn't playing around. However, it was looking worse for the wear and, at Barnaby's instruction, Pepin re-joined the fray and ended the battle with a well-placed Iron Tail. A Safari Ball was lobbed soon after at the STUFFUL captured. What was that? Three of them now? Maybe he would give one of them to Remi Cassel. She might like a cute pink bear to go along with her more ferocious ones.

Anyway, after the small confrontation they continued the journey to EEVEE's meadow. So far Barnaby had scored two of the little cuties there, so he wasn't gonna ruin the streak. Just then, a shuffling noise from the bushes nearby caught Barnaby's attention. The leaves shook for a moment, then - FOOSH! Out came a RATICATE holding something in its jaws. Looking closer, it was... a LUVDISC!

"Le salaud! Let go of it!" Surprisingly, the rat was startled enough to release the fish before scurrying off.

The LUVDISC was already worse for the wear, so it easily succumbed to Barnaby's Safari Ball. He'd be sure to heal the poor thing as soon as they left the park. Not before that EEVEE was caught, though. Priorities.

Naturally, another Pokémon showed itself to fuck up these priorities. From the shadows rolled a suspicious, pristine egg... almost too pristine... As they walked closer it POPPED! While not damaging, the attack still startled Barnaby enough to backpedal a bit into the trunk of a tree.

A child-like giggle could be heard from the underbrush.

"Merde! Pepin, flush it out!"

Pepin went to work, bolting into the underbrush with surprising speed for his small size. A cacophonous uproar could be heard shortly after, which the EEVEE's ferocious squeaks intermixed with lilting tones of outrage.

Pepin was laying down the law to whatever had attacked them.

Soon enough, the diminutive EEVEE returned triumphantly, dragging a beaten HAPPINY by it's ponytail. One less Safari Ball marked another step closer to the end of their third excursion.

The pair continued to their destination: a picturesque, secluded meadow where many EEVEE in the park congregated. Luckily for Barnaby, many of them were frolicking in the grass today. Pepin easily lured another little female over, securing Barnaby's fourth EEVEE.
