He sat at the table, still tapping his finger as he tried to get out into the world and distract himself. [break][break]

Still a remnant of frosting on his cheek remained thanks to his Alcremie spraying him with decorate earlier, his thumb sliding against the edge of his lip to move the cream onto his tongue. "Oh wow, that actually tastes good." he said ALMOST considering asking alcremie to spray him again but then went against it upon the thought of how strange of a request that'd be. [break][break]

Instead he sat there twiddling his thumbs awkwardly.

Bryan didn't seem his usual self, though Adrian wasn't exactly a therapist either. Maybe they were friends? That hardly seemed the case, and calling them coworkers was equally a stretch. They hardly knew one another, but now they were inextricably bound. It makes Bryan's well being tantamount to... something, he'd suppose.

That and he hated to see someone down on their luck, particularly when it reminded Adrian of himself.

He tried to dodge it but it was an awful attempt "Not really. No." he said sighing out loud "I'd rather not talk about it though. You?"

Actually, things were going sideways to Hell in a handbasket. But there were enough silver linings to make one overlook the grim side of things. Besides, it could always be worse. That much rang true in Hoenn more than anywhere else; it was hard not to be consciously aware of the fact. Navigating around the obvious touchy subjects, he tried to keep it simple for Bryan.

"Have you been enjoying the speed rounds, at least?"

Bryan was honest to a fault, and he couldn't imagine why he'd stoop to making bracelets with someone. Which was funny considering the Klefki dangling from his wrist like a bracelet, clasped against him possessively while he fidgeted with the keys on its loop out of reflex.

"Didn't recognize you, huh? Guess you got lucky." Adrian couldn't imagine it. Since the change, Adrian could identify someone by aura alone. It was like looking at the tapestry of one's life, all in the prismatic hues of their bioenergy.

Adrian hesitated for a moment, unsure of what to say when he had a sudden impulse. "...What's Xerneas like?"

Yveltal tended to be callous and devoted to a twisted sense of worldly altruism. Demanding and exacting when it came to its dealings. Xerneas may have represented the flip-side of the coin, but what did that mean really?

Ah, they were still together. That was good, Adrian seemed happier so maybe it was thanks to rowan's influence. He was glad for him. [break][break]

He scratched the back of his head, what was Xerneas like? "Uhhh..Ethereal yet the toughest bastard in the world?" he said not sure how to word it "He's very Cordial with me and priam conrad , just enjoying our company. He doesn't really seem interested in the world's events. He's mostly just thankful for us saving him from his constant torture." [break][break]

He sighs as he takes one of the chocolate kisses and pops em into his mouth. "What's Yvetal like?" he says returning the same question to his counter part. Had he known that a part of the puzzle he was so desperately trying to solve was right under his nose the whole time, he held no anger towards Adrian for hiding it as long as he could. After all if Bryan had known he probably would have never left him alone, if he had the choice he probably wouldn't want others to know either but there was a weight lifted off his shoulders of not having to hide it.[break][break]

Sounds like he's got it pretty easy.

How mistaken he was; oblivious.

So Xerneas had reappeared mysteriously and deigned to name for itself an avatar; that was of great significance, but not necessarily cause for public concern. But as to the whereabouts of the one who loosed Yveltal upon the city of Sootopolis, the night Team Rocket sacked it...

Well, it was just better nobody overheard them.

But he would oblige them with an honest account.

"Dogmatic. Obstinate." Adrian only wrangled with Yveltal when he had to, otherwise the entity remained at the seat of its power, somewhere along the height of Mt. Pyre. He preferred things that way, not that he was in a position to dictate such things. "And an absolute menace..."

Those frightful moments staring down an aggrieved titan, only to see it very nearly succumb to the things known as Ultra Beasts... That moment had changed his life. And perhaps not for the better. That being the case, he could only hope to make the most of it, and lend himself to its endeavors where they remained mutually beneficial.

Beyond that, he tried not to overthink things. Even if he didn't appreciate the work or its merits... There were those who would do terrible things for promises of power. Better then that he should deny them that chance.

He wondered then what sort of avatar Bryan would be.

Before either of them could think on something else to say, the bells around them began to ding, and the shuffling of foosteps could be overhead. "We'd better get a move on."
